Aww. Sadly with the economy we scrapped toegther an insane amount of money and everyone really got a kind of iPod in my family, even my step uncles. Now they have these full out computers for about the same price.

I've got the ux280p (on US market) model with core solo 1.2 Ghz 1GB of ram and 40 GB harddrive .

I wonder if the ssd has to be exclusively bought from ssd. Will ssds from other vendors fit?

Yeah any 1.8" SSD or HDD should work.

@adrienspawn no i dont think so, i dont think the device has support for sata, i think its pata, so u might wanna get a pata one,which is much slower by a lot, or get a sata one and a cable that converts it

@tsunayoshi987 1.8" ZIF drive that is. 40-pin. The SSD's can be pretty fast (80mbps)

actually a 40 pin can deliver up to 133mbps, but u can get a sata adapter to make it more efficient, and most ssd's are not 40 pin thats what i mean, most are sata
