  • solo from nils is awesome. nonetheless, bruce invented it

  • As inspired as it gets in my opinion. Bruce has to be on his mark to spit out those opening lyrics which are a mouthful.

  • what a TIGHT band!

  • Nils solo on this song is too perfect.

  • BRUUUUUUUUUUUUUCE!

  • Dire Straights song called Tunnel of Love = better. Period.

  • 3:09 "You've got to learn to live with what you can't rise above! "

The secret to living a happy grateful life. The Boss and Patty rule!

This song is awesome to the max!!!! RIP Clarence Clemmons!

  • first time announcing this.., this is my favorite bruce springsteen song.., never really cared for him when i was a kid, (mind you not that i didnt think he was good)i was more into the crue and skid row.., but the older you get the more you appriciate good music u didnt give a chance too when you were a kid. with that being said.. yea i listen to more and more of the boss.. and this is my favorite song hands down.., rounding out the top 3. born to run, philadelphia.., thanks for reading :)

  • YOU ARE MY TUNNEL OF LOVE BABY!!!!!!!

  • Brilliant !!!!!!

  • One of the best Springsteen songs ever. Certainly the best one post Born to Run.

  • His best song ever, I think.

  • I'd love for him to play this entire album next time I see him... same with the rest of his albums lol

  • Dire Straits did this song too-i'm not sure who did it first

  • @busterbone.

    Totally different songs.

  • @busterbone No they didnt. Its a different song. Although oddly enough the E Street Band's keyboard player Roy Bittan plays on the Dire Straits song.

  • @Gazza63 4 reals?! yo i herd p.diddy done dis song too and it sound dope

  • Nils Lofgren lives in Arizona.

  • really great tone that guitarist.he makes harmonics like adrian belew

  • I just watched a special viewing of courting eagles brought to me exclusively by Mother Nature. What an awesome experience and privilege. I must get a Lakota

    word on the sighting.

  • Shit this makes me feel old, for what seemed to me like ages this was the 'New' Bruce Springsteen album.

Shit this performance is from 8 years ago.

  • Patti's so out of time with that tambourine :L she's so funny <3

  • Best Song EVER!

  • Fat man SHITTING out a little stool

  • One of his best songs IMHO.

  • for a konzertvideo its really good Quality

  • Great performance. :-)

  • THE BOSS RULES!!!!!!!!

  • Nils Lofgren: I am SO PROUD of you!! Not only are you a great guitarist but it's fantastic how you wrote an article on ESPN doht cohm denouncing Michael Vick and the NFL.

Great man, great guitarist, great humanitarian! Perfection!!

  • Fat man shitting out a little stool

  • Parts of this song are so fuckin great. And the lyrics .. I can feel the soft silk of your blouse and them soft thrills in our little fun house. Just the 3 of us all that stuff we are so scared of . Fat man sitting on a little stool takes the money from my hand while his eyes take a walk all over you. Nils is so good with that guitar I guess that is why Neil Young picked him for fun ride in After the Goldrush.

  • The Boss !!!!!

  • @kaufmann94

    You sir, are an ass.

    Without a doubt.

  • you got to learn to live with what you cant rise above

  • I was reserving a time for a colonoscapy and this was their hold music, ROFL.

  • @werm000nt , thats funny ! Best thing i heard today

  • @werm000nt that dialogue is from 2 and a half men!!!!!!!!!

  • @dushyant08 i know ;)

  • wow

  • When will people wake up ? This is not a Bruce Springsteen song. It is a Tony Soprano dream sequence from "The Sopranos" T.V series. At the 33 second mark you can clearly see Silvio playing the guitar ? WTF

  • yeah i heard Dire Straits did this song too, but I dunno who did it first them or the Boss-Bruce and the 8th Street Band

  • @africanbully31

OMG please not another one !. Dire Straits and Bruce Springsteen have two songs with the same name. Nothing else, they ARE NOT the same song. Same names but that's it, the end, final, period, end of LOL !...The lyrics are miles apart from each other and so are the years they were both written.

  • @africanbully31

    Oh and it's the "E" street band....omg....

  • @lubetube2009 who's version of the "Tunnel of Love" song do you like better? i like this one by Bruce Springsteen better than the Dire Starits version-even though thye did it first and Bruce later covered it. I like Bruce's later version of the Rick Springfield song "Human Touch" also.

  • @africanbully31

Hello. That's fantastic you like this song because this song is an original song. Bruce wrote this song all by himself. So that's great you love this song, it's an awesome song. It's also great how Dire Straits wrote their own song back in the 80's too. Both great songs in their own right, no one copied anyone and I know that you're not dumb. You know what I mean when I say they are 2 different songs but the same title. Why are you acting all dumb on this when you're not?

  • @lubetube2009 bcuz it's possible to have the same song title with some different lyrics added or lost from the original. haven't u ever heard that b4? Bruce took the Dire Straits song and made it his own.

  • @africanbully31

That's bullshit ! Bruce didn't take anything from Dire Straits and make it his own. Do you know how many same titled songs there are out there today? Are you trying to tell me they're all from the same song but they change the lyrics? Hahaha nice try !

  • @africanbully31

Oh and they're only the same song if they have the "exact same" lyrics AND melody AND rhythm. In other words, they are a 'COVER' song..Do you know what a 'cover' song means?. This song and Dire Straits "Tunnel of Love" are '''NOT''' COVER songs.

  • @lubetube2009 i thought a cover song is when David Coverdale sings it or when a singer sings it under the covers

  • @africanbully31

That's good you've finally got it that Bruce and Marks songs are two different songs then.

  • @lubetube2009 that part still confuses me

  • @africanbully31

Well, all ya gotta do is keep in mind they're two totally different songs. No one copied anyone. Way too easy

  • WRONG WRONG WRONG

    I

    I

    V

  • same song. different artist

  • same song title, different artist

  • Dire Straits did this song first

  • @busterbone not true

  • @busterbone same title, different song

  • @busterbone same title, different song

  • "the lights go out and there's just the three of us; you and me and all those things we're sio scared of".. Great lyrics..

And Nils Lofgren is ten times the guitarst than most people know!

  • don't want to be Jake or the fat man-people would think that I was just good fun. too much to carry around with you. no chance of finding a woman who-will love you in the morning and all the night time too!

  • song of the love parade

  • @Pf0rsten What a mean thing to say. I am remarkably amused. Thank you

  • @Pf0rsten oh you are so right on it, this is heart- pounding...

  • Why Srinsteen walk around with guirl klothes on?

He want to get job maybe?

  • Greatest Jewish performer of all times..

  • @ejgiv

    He's not jewish

  • I was there that night...I was in the pit beside the stage partying with Bill Walton...great night!

  • Great video, I'm spreading my music with animation greetings from Argentina

  • Tears...

  • Beethoven Bach Bruuuuuuce!!

  • This is HOT.

  • * I LOVE BRUCE *

  • Nils is a guitar genius!

  • @ddaaggyy I wish Springsteen would let Nils take the lead more on the guitar... I believe he did at first, if you see those great videos on Youtube in France, 1985 when Bruce was no match for Nils. But now, it seems Bruce takes the lead, and gets "Little Steve" to sing (ugh).. whereas they could do a hell of a lot more with Lofgren than him.

  • Bruce Springsteen is a wonderful person and this is a very classy love song... The boss is also a very loyal supporter of Labor Unions... You sir are truly the best!

  • Love this song. Wrote it for his first wife who left him I believe.

  • Good song, GREAT tunnel ;O)

  • I do love this song even if i,m not a big Bruce Springsteen fan

  • Patti's singing in the back always made this song.

  • brilliant lyrics

  • ha, i was there.....this song is always a killer, springsteen rocks

  • Great song, and the person who shot it did a good job pointing the camera at the big screen. But what is it with rock stars who put thier wives at the front of the stage playing the tamborine? Is that some kind rock law or is at a homage to Linda McCartney?

  • Patti was brought into the band as a vocalist for the TOL tour and her vocals are a key part of this song, as much as the song is about them getting together. Most of the time she's on stage she normally has a guitar with her though.

  • probably hleped him with the lyricsor soemthing?

  • Just Great!

  • this song rocks.....stirs the soul....timeless....cant get enough ,,,,,

  • im 113 so i cant contribute to the political debates but i can say

helluva good song, how was it not in Greatest hits?

  • Bruce is the voice of the left. Truly enlightened. If you don't like his political views then piss off.

I'd love his music even if he was a Bush ass kisser. He' all talent!

  • ...great song...this song says the truth...

  • Bruce is always right politically, thegemrocket

  • [IanRush77]

lol!!! Yeah right - good one!.. what world do you live in!!?!

  • What are you, a communist?

  • [IanRush77]

    ..no; a realist.

  • I think this is one of the best instrumental (and lyrix) ive ever heard...

  • Willow is correct. He was married shortly to Ms. Phillips. The Tunnel of Love collection reflects some of the issues with divorce.

  • you gotta learn to live with what you cant rise above!!!

  • Meglio Tunnel of love dei DIre Straits!!!!

    Mark forever!!!!!!

  • your pathetic, bruce isnt even a liberal, what kind of lame excuse for a human judges a man by what he believes in anyway?

  • Bruce is huge democrat. He supported Kerry for christ's sake. I love his music, but he should only reflect his political views through his music, and nothing else.

  • agreed, they dont have a voice in politic and just because they a famous singer/ actor who who ever. They think they can because people do listen to them and they get theirs voices heard because of t.v and wat not. Which is retarded, sometimes they just need to shut up!!!! lol

  • Title track from a mature man's album about divorce. Darkness On The Edge Of Town is great but not as mature.

This is similar to how Blood On The Tracks is a more mature artistic effort than Another Side Of Bob Dylan.

  • Love this and the Dire Straits song. There are only 3 comparisons-1 both are brilliant pieces of work-2 both share a song title -and 3 both are unique to the performers,

  • its an amazing song but there are many better ones

  • nils rocks!

what the hell! this is bruce's best song!

ought to be easy ought to be simple enough...

  • Who is the girl? I like Bruce`s old stuff but Im not sure who his band are

  • that would be Patti Sciafla, his wife lol

and i cant say i have a fave period......cause bruce is just amazing and in my opinion never done wrong :D :D :D so i love all his eras!!!!!!

  • WILLOW thats ONLY HIS WIFE of 18+ YEARS

  • Must be his second one coz the last time I mind him with a brunette & she was a hunny. Juliette or something?

  • Julianne and she was only after his fame. She hasnt done ANYTHING since.Actress or atleast attempted be one.

  • One of the most underrated Bruce songs, and albums as well. Greatness

  • Patti sings out of tune.

  • Nils's solo is great! But that goes for the entire song. I love it how Bruce performing live is way better than his album recordings

  • Nils solo on the album is 1 of my best top 10 solos underatted player very good though. I agree totally Efraimlbrahimovic

  • Doesn't compare to the Dire Straits song with the same title. But I'm partial to their style.

  • How could it when Dire Straits song was released in 1980, seven years ahead of this song. And Dire Straits are Brits.

  • actually, this song was released in 1987 from the record Tunnel of love, the dire straits song was released in 1981 on the album Making Movies

  • I received the Springsteen book "For You" and I was really blown away... if any book can capture what it's like to be at a Springsteen show, this is it. The images are as good as concert photos get

  • attardius-u are rather dumb...Silvio is played by Steve Van Zandt, made famous in The E Street Band. He has been with the band since the 70's. So learn your facts before you open your mouth.

  • scott0911 - I love know it all dickheads like you. Gee thanks for the news flash. What I wrote is called a JOKE !!!!! I've known that he has been a member of the band before you were an itch in your daddy's pants ! But, you keep up the good work...... you fuckin moron!!!

  • j love you

  • very funny!!!

  • Er, he's been a member of the ESB since 1974.

  • You're a fucking idiot

  • what the hells up with these american audiences?

they act like they're all 60 and can't hear well

  • LOVE THIS SONG LIVEEEE

  • Damn! I wish he played this in Seattle -oh well he rocked me anyway

  • more like this at mybrucespringsteen

  • I saw this one, loved it and still do

  • The " Tunnel of Love" in Asbury Park , circa 1930's by the boardwalk ,lost it's fight for preservation and was torn down. Used to remind me of this great song every time I drove by it. Most likely the inspiration for it, as Bruce incorporates many local themes into his songs.

  • and that's why you spell music with a "k"

  • i guess we do, deb. feels good to know so much doesn't it? oh, and my name is spelled with an S.

  • Do you know what us normal people mean when we say 'you're a joke'?

  • Either you're a muppet or a drunk,

  • it means they're joking and sometimes means winding people up

  • Love this song love it, love it, love it-Bruce's voice is magnificent and "Tunnel of Love" is one of his most outstanding love songs.

  • If you listen to the lyrics and song, its NOT a love song, its a dark song about pain & anguish...

  • That's in sharp contrast to what he says about the song itself, on VH1 Storytellers m8, just have a look at it ;)

  • I wish someone would post this whole song from the Magic Tour, not just the 3:30 highlight of it that ends before the finale with Bruce, Patti and Nils.

  • One of Sprinsteens best and underrated songs.

  • That's exactly right. Perfect description. I first heard this song when it came out. I was 4 years old and have loved it ever since. It's underrated but should not be because it has a touch of everything Springsteen has to offer. I was at the St. Paul show recently and was hoping he would play it. He didn't, nor did I believe he would - his wife wasn't at the concert for some reason.

  • I hope I can see him in concert on the tour he is doing for his album Magic. I am sadden though

that he does not play this song in concert. Maybe though this time he will. Oh, check out the song Radio Nowhere if you haven't already, back to basics music that says something that is what Bruce is all about, musical and lyrical poetry. No one is like him.

  • Search YouTube and type in "Bruce Springsteen St. Paul." Search through them and you will see St. Paul, Minnesota 11-02-07. That was the exact show I went to and the video is Radio Nowhere. It's the first song he played. Sounded great.

  • Very good song! Gotta love Nils's sound- and guitar technique.

  • slippery89- your name is your programm...

    make my day!!

  • I was there for this show... Always wanted to see Tunnel of Love live.. and I got to this night, and Bob Dylan too! Great show

  • I think Bob Dylan should be there....

  • BRUCE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gotta luv him !!!!!

  • All singers are great, with thier talents alone its justify thier greatness. But we choose who are are favorites.....For Bruce Springsteen is my #1. He is really really great very exciting to see..Tunnel of Love is one of my best. Keep on rockin' men!

  • he is THE man and they are THE band, god i hope they tour again

  • "Tunnel of love", una meravella no només per a Bruceadictes sinó per als amants de la música.

  • I can't believe someone can actually be this talented.

  • probably the top 11 greatest, most charismatic and commanding stage preformers are as follows .. #11-jimi hendrix #10 -prince #9 -freddie mercury #8-bono #7-iggy pop #6-mick jagger #5 -jim morrisson #4-james brown #3-bruce springsteen #2- michael jackson and at number one #1- elvis presley let the debate begin... (we all really knows whos #1)
  • jon bon jovi should be up there, he's one of the best live performers around

  • very true, his concerts are right up there with the best of them.

  • you're joking, right???? jon bon included on a list with hendrix, bono, jagger, james brown, and bruce??? good lord, what DO they put in the jersey water that leads to such delusional ideas???

  • Jon bon jovi is one of the best live lead singers dude

  • yah Bon Jovi is in league with the Mafia

  • slippery89-

you shouldn´t take drugs before posting...

  • FUCK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • you`re welcome, slippery89- housewife...
