  • Used whistle instead of clicker: my cat's sca(r)red for life.

  • @liesje9876

    Oh no...

    O.O

  • my cat only did this 2times after that she completely ignored the target

    stick.

  • what the clicker for??

  • @bruno1210yo Clicker marks the behaviour. It tells the cat that they have done the correct behaviour and will get a reward for it. First you have to charge the clicker by clicking once and then giving a treat. You have to do this for about 15-20 times or until the cat gets the meaning of clicker. Once you know the cat will look up at you everytime she hears a click, that's when you can start using clicker to mark good behaviours.

  • oh maybe the name is little bit thats a cute name

  • I love the name " LittleBig" XD great video thanks i might get a cat and i think i want to train it to do tricks just maybe

  • I like her skirt.

  • Some people have 3 hands?

  • Question. What breed is your cat? I have the same one and am curious.

  • @hotboy117 i think its a siamese cat.

  • @hotboy117 and before you ask if Im obsessed with cats because of my name Im not, it was in the suggestion thing when creating my Xbox Live account.

  • how i learn my kitty his name ? his name is ruffus idk if 1 or 2 f's because im norewgian

  • All a nigga really need is a little bit,

  • my dog can do this..

  • Everytime you'd cheer your cat my cat would jump up on the desk and meow lol.

Cats are so smart, my cat is very loyal and intelligent but she gets very bored if she isn't learning or playing. Thanks for sharing!

  • it seems as if the stick doesnt work, but the treat does XD

  • i have the EXACT same chairs at my dining table!

  • omg marrrry meeee

  • Nice video. But I have a question, what is the clicker used for?

  • @Johnlly123 she is clicker training the cat like you would with a dog so they know when they done whats expected so you no longer need the target stick

  • at the start of the video i thought that was an electric zapper

  • she looks like a cat lady

  • Good, but it would be better to train the cat to do it even when it can't see the trick. The woman in the video was holding the treat basically right in front of the cat's nose, so of course it would jump. If you do that, the cat doesn't really know the trick. A cat really knows a trick if it does it on command, even when it can't see the treat you're holding ready to give it

  • littlebit is adorable

  • Thank you!

  • Little Bit is so cute!

  • Wow, that cat is amazing. It's weird i spend nearly everyday with my cat with a stick and all she does is chew. Oh and is there a way you can train your cats tricks without any objects or chewiness or stuff? PL Z Answer.

  • Wow, that cat is amazing. It's weird i spend nearly everyday with my cat with a stick and all she does is chew. OIh and is there a way you can train your cats tricks without any objects or chewies or stuff? PLZ Answer.

  • pleant dont tell my owner i was watching this .

    micio the cat

  • this isnt really teaching a cat a trick just getting it to move to get food

  • my cat ran off with the bag of treats and flipped me off

  • Seems like she's on the right track but why not straighten-up the bedding, etc.?

  • what does the clicker do?

  • @stripesmommy the clicker is supposed to signify that the cat accomplished the task that it was set out to do. You don't need a clicker in order to teach the cat to do tricks, but it's good to use instead of treats, however, you're SUPPOSED to clicker train the cat first so that it learns to associate the noise with receiving food, and that way, you won't have to give your cat a treat every time because the click literally becomes the reward. I don't know if that makes sense.

  • i teached my cat to jump from a chair into a toilet hahaxD

  • even tho i have a dog, cats are awesome, but dogs are better:)

  • Does this woman have a boyfriend?? XD

  • lmao...caterpillars are more entertaining than cats jumping for food aka "doing tricks"

  • ur cat is gonna die off obesity by the end of the training section

  • So, thats how a dog fetches a stick? :D

  • Is there any other videos on tricks by this person? Please, I'm teaching my cat to do tricks. These things really worked!

  • any can can jump my cat jumps so hi i get scared my old cat diead ooooowww

  • Well, I kind of choose cats because, Dogs are a little bit gross. Licking the face XD..

  • @ReaverRism my cat licks my hair

  • @ScaredOfEvilClowns95 Probably your neighbor's dog trained your cat to lick someone. XD

  • @ReaverRism nah my cat stays indoor btw check out my cat videos

  • i hv a cat just like that but her hair is a little bit lighter i love these cats

  • that's not a trick

  • That was cool my cats cant do that

  • is that a siamese cat im pretty sure it is

  • what is a target stick????

  • wow!! what a beatiful vid !my cat really learnt it

  • This was a REALLY cool vid! I have three cats and I want to get one more! =)

  • How do you get them to say words?

  • Why is the 'clicker' used for?

  • @AnimalFreak111 it's for conditioning the cat - once the cat associates the click with the treat, a click will also work as positive reinforcement when the cat gets the trick right, without having to treat it all the time with sweets etc.

  • oh charlie yes

  • i like cats and dogs but i like dogs better :)

  • that wasn't a jump

  • rigth...so basically ....teach your cat to jump from one chair to another by tempting it with a treat.....put a ring in the middle (which the cats probably gives a damn abt), and do it again. I think my cat was born with this ability!!

  • HI .......LOL

you scared the .... out of me when clip started with your HI.

  • omg a siamesse cat same here and isa real siamesse from thailand/saim so should be easy

  • if i tried this on my cat, he'd stare at me like wtf. just sayin

  • i clicker train my puppy and im going to start using it with my kitty

  • i live in london, where can i buy a clicker?

  • whats the clicker for?

  • What can you use instead of a target stick???

That is very good video !!! :)

  • my cuosin has a car named little bit

  • what does the clicker do

  • @hardyboyz618 if you 'clicker train' your cat, it knows that a click means 'I like what you just did, you get a treat'.

  • little bit sucks dick and you should light the hoop on fire just to make it look cool and put gas on your cat and make him jump throw

  • yea i have to get that target stick for felix and teach him to jump through a hoop

  • Diana Korten, how many cats do you have.....littlebit, ben, brandie and many more....!

  • Imma train my cat to be a ninja assassin

  • My cat is able to do a double backflip.

  • @rubyslipperz1214 Really?

  • @sergioboy391994 u suck mon

  • @sergioboy391994 thats not fake and ur GAY!!

  • The only secret weapon in training pets is to just give them food lol (but its true its very true)

  • lmao some trick. Any cat will jump from one chair to another if theres food involved

  • @JohnAngusFTW You mean yuor cat.

  • @JohnAngusFTW not if ur cat is lazy

  • WTF...this was....waste of my time....

  • @cxyyxcc can u even do it ? -.-

  • that was a super lame trick...

  • @estesjubi can u eve do it? -.-

  • Oh, by the way, my first two comments, the lowest ones down, were directed as replies at reindeer1489 but they came out as regular comments for some reason.

  • You are a very good trainer! :D I also train my cats, but you are better than me! My kittens are also very fast learners - they learnt to jump through a hoop 2ft in the air in one day! My cats, however, love their training, and jumping is their favouirte game. I highly recommend Burmese as they have a very long attention span, are very loyal, always try their best, and are generally very agile and muscular cats.

  • i just flip off my cat then it comes

  • what is so abusive?

  • thats just animal abuse. i mean A HOOP??!! i mean who does she thing she is??!! a ringmaster!?

  • omg reindeer she is giving the cat treats and love its not at any rate an animal abuse

  • like its really gonna train the cat. giving treats, its just gonna make the cat want to get more treats and when it doesnt its gonna get pissed.

  • It does train the cat. They won't get upset at not getting more treats because they know they are a reward for the work they have done. This is a natural instinct. When cats work (hunt), they get a reward (food). The don't moan for more, they know they have to work for it. Again, make sure your facts are straight before you make such rude comments to a very good trainer.

  • Actually, cats love it - they are natural jumpers and will leap through holes to catch prey. She is not forcing her cat, and is rewarding him when he does as she asks. He is doing it of his own free will, to please an owner he loves. My kitten Jazz was very shy, but I also train my cats, and since I began training her we have developed a very close bond and she has become a lot more confident. Please get your facts straight before you criticise.

  • how old is the cat ?

  • thank you for this video

  • good human for holding the hoop

  • im positive the cat doesn't give a rats ass about the clicker if you take away the treat...cats are smarter than that and knows that just clicker sound doesn't get them any reward. ;)

i mean i can do the same "trick" with the chair with a bit of cheese in my hand tempting my cat.

  • I have four cats, and only one of them likes a specific kind of treat. But when I tried to teach him a trick he wasn't focused at all. And as for the other cats what could I use to motivate them? And once they learn a trick will I have to give them a reward every time?

  • Hoops are all well and good, but I'm trying to get my cat to attack on command. any Ideas?

  • If it's possible, that's really not a bad idea. Dog bites hurt, but I've seen the aftermath of people who have been mauled by cats. It's not pretty... People tend to be more afraid of being bitten or scratched by a cat than a dog, nowadays.

  • this isnt a trick this is just a cat following food sorry but its true.

  • That's how all cat tricks have to be... Cats only want rewards. Granted, I've taught my Mau some tricks on my spare time (without a target stick or props), but he doesn't walk up to me begging to practice his tricks like a border collie would.

  • my cat does...you just dont have a good bond with your cat. No offence.

  • Well, that was offensive. He's an Egyptian Mau. I get to be his favorite person whether I like it or not. Even so, cats are not into pleasing their human companions, that's the point I was trying to make. It's only fun if they get food, or any other kind of self-indulging reward from it. Part of why I like cats so much. No bullshit with them.

  • I agree with SRNF that it might be a bond thing. Cats are similar to any other animal in that they're very interested in pleasing humans so long as they're treated well by humans. However, they're different because they're not pack animals and they behave in a more solitary manner. They also have a much shorter attention span for that sort of thing.

  • Spike can learn tricks, he learns them incredibly fast and has a knack for it. But if his choices are A) do tricks for a while or B) run around the house and play tag with me, he almost always chooses the B option. Training is boring for him, no matter how enthusiastic I am. If I had the space and equipment, I'd teach him something involving running and jumping. Sit, stay, and all those basic dog tricks aren't up to his brain power.

  • That's only half of it. Animals are much more interested in pleasing their humans than we think they are, cats included. If you begin teaching animals tricks you'll find that it's much simpler than most people suspect. Most of the time even the most complex-looking tricks are just a simple matter of getting an animal to follow food.

  • I think this is Spike's personality alone, but, he's doesn't really try hard to please me. I get treated like a litter mate/sibling. I get chewed on, scratched, tackled (don't let the fact that is below the average size for a domestic cat fool you. He can jump over my head), and sought out for constant play related attention all the time. Like you said before, cats tend to have short attention spans, especially if they are spotted breeds (Egyptian Maus, Bengals, Savannah's, etc...)

  • make a video about training a mouser >.>

  • do you have to have a clicker and a target stick???

where do you buy them from and what type of treats are they .... do every cats like them... can you buy them from any food store???

  • The hell is the clicker for?

  • lamo

  • To let the cat know a treat is on the way, like saying 'well done'.

  • Cats are as easy to train as dogs! My mother always taught all our cats to roll over. I also have taught our cats to roll over. After about 2 years of not rolling over one of our cats remembered how to do it! I was shocked. Cats are a lot smarter than people give them credit!

  • I f the cat is trained and you let her do some trick and don't give her any treat..will she slowly disobey and stop doing tricks?

  • ya cause the hole point shes doing the tricks for is so she can get a treat in the end XD

  • To phase out the treat you slowly start to only reward every other time and then only every so often. Even if you didn't give them a treat the last time they did it, They know that there is a possibility of you giving a treat the next time you ask for a behavior and so they keep trying. This is know as "the gamble" in food based training. If the animal stops responding every time, there is nothing wrong with giving a treat to refresh their memory and get them to start gambling all over again.

  • COOL !

  • little bit is SSOO CUTE

  • So what in the world does the clicker do...?

  • it trains the cat to know it's a good thing so you dont have to use the stick all the time

  • the sound lets them know they are doing something right

  • The clicker is given meaning by clicking & treating over & over. It's like saying "good boy!" only it's a neutral sound, that can be consistently repeated & 1 they don't hear everyday. it knows it will get a treat when you click & quickly links what it was doing the moment you clicked with getting the treat the click promises. This leads him to repeat the behavior. Once they grasp this they try very hard to get you 2 click. Add a command word phase out the "tools" & you've got your trick!

  • That's cool!!!! Very Cool!!! I'll see if I can my cat (Jack) to do that :) Great video!

  • training your cat is an awesome way to bond with your cat, but i personally don't like using a target stick, i use my hand a lot.... i just feel like it more loving that way, and i feel your almost belittling a cat with a stick... how about i get a target stick and put freeze dried donuts on it and tell you where to go....

  • its no difference from holding a donut

  • THATZ COOL, I WILL TRY THAT!

  • thats cool ill teach my cay yao ming to do that

  • my cat does it without training ;P

  • Training cats is so rewarding. It's great having a pet, but being able to do activities with them like this makes the experience so much more enjoyable. Check out my videos, there's a whole training course available for novices.

  • I'd say it's a matter of opinion... You say cats don't really love you, i say that dogs are too stupid to act on their own. They just follow their masters, like stupid little minions. Actually, that's not exactly what i think, because i don't hate certain animaals like you.

  • Actually what I said about dogs doing useful jobs and cats not, is not a matter of opinion. And I never said I "hated" cats, I'm just not a fan and would never keep them myself.

  • Ok, I agree that dogs can do some more usefull things than cats. But you can't say that dogs are "better". Some people like dogs more, some people like cats more. And cats DO love you, if you treat them the right way. Cats are very social animals. It has been proofed (typo?).

  • @free4one2three

I like cats and dogs the same

  • @free4one2three i'm a dog person but i agree 100% cats can do things and are loving if you love them back

  • Cats can do one important job, They can keep mice out of a house, and mice carry many nasty things and ruin food stock. I call that a useful job.

  • I think cats do love humans. A while back there was a fire nearby and a baby was trapped inside. The cat ran back inside and came out carrying the baby. It then collapsed and later died (the cat that is, the baby survived). When I cry my cats lick the tears from my face. They keep me company and I truly KNOW that they love me just as I love them.

  • you're conditioning her to perform these actions lol I'm speaking in psychology terms, that's my major in college lol

  • Dude, Cats do not do tricks! They aren't dogs, they are not ment to serve us, as they are free willed. If you were a cat who had to do a trick, wouldn't it be humiliating?

  • My cats will willingly jump through a hoop 2ft up in the air. If I leave it up after training, the leap through it anyway! They love their jumping tricks!

  • Cat's are funny at times because, they are uncontrollable. It is good that fun tricks can challenge and bond with your lovable cats.

  • My cat is a moron.

  • this is NOT a good trick!

  • hehe...that lady holding on to the stick look like a teacher..or a principle..

    hees
