After 3+ years of comments on "Tibet, Was, Is" (including NSKOV er NZKOF's original video), have you come to believe that the Chinese government is "nice?"
Have their comments been friendly?
Is theirs the political party you want ruling the world?
most chinks guy youtube is chinese secret police. they writting communist dictator`s propaganda over and over again. its their job, and also they hired so many to making propaganda too. you can search it in google (50 cent army), it so funny hahahaha
How China's '50 Cent Army' Could Wreck (Search Google =====> 50 Cent Army)
The CCP has hired thousands of freelance Internet propagandists whose job is to infiltrate chat rooms, message boards and comment areas-----(50 Cent Army)
That so called photo of PLA dressing as monks has alerady been clarified. It is just a movie shot where there were nobody else to play the Tibetan monks.
GCHQ? An intellegence service wouuld not speak to the public about their findings. You're obviously lying.
Ya CIA releases information in their CIA world fact book, and things like average GDP per person, military spending, transportation, land mass? loll?? Did I need CIA to find me these facts?
What I mean is sensitive intelligence information, obtained from spy satellites. Who the hell is stupid enough to openly say "hey I was spying on you and here is what I found"?
Countries will release any information if it suits them. The US let the world know about the capability of its nuclear submarines, when it had no need to.
Ya the capability of its own nuclear submarines. Would it release the detail of let's say a Russian submarine capability that CIA had obtained? Of course not.
"Get their way". And ya, leaking an intelligence information obtained from another ocuntry is not "getting their way". More like getting their ass kicked. Mouthing off like that can get one of their spies caught or even executed.
Please, stop the non-sense. What purpose does releasing sensitive information serve? The only people who need those info are the US and British military.
And anyhow, since nothing on Tibet was mentioned GCHQ official website, your lie is busted. No such statement was ever made.
Why would the common people need to know the capability of a Russian submarine? A Chinese jet fighter? Where their troops are? Where their leaders went to? What purpose is achieved by releasing sensitive information? Can you just stop the nonsense?
How is it not sensitive information? Assuming that the PLA did do that, it would be something that PLA is desperate to hide. Why would the British want to inform PLA that they were able to detect the PLA posing as monks?
Anyhow, answer my question, why is the statement not available on GCHQ's website?
When I was there in October 2007 I felt lots of tension in the air and I was not surprised to see the tragic results this past spring. Too bad as the Tibetans and Chinese I met were very friendly and helpful.
Glob: You obviously know nothing of Tibetan Buddhist teachings. And the monks were actually very little involved in the violence, which on Mar. 14 was mainly carried out by youths.
See:
dailyprincetonian[dot]com[slash]2008[slash]

And stop blindly believing everything CCP tells you is true.
No religious Monks should behave like Criminals and have violent-minded followers. The Tibetan buddhists teachings are really questionable. What did BUDDHA taught? What have the Tibetans learnt? I don't think Richard Gere learn much from them.
Even Michael Parenti once wrote in his book: "Friendly Feudalism: The Tibet Myth": " The official 1953 census recorded the entire population residing in Tibet at 1.274 mil. Other census counts put the population within Tibet at about 2 mil..."
Is the Tibet government to be trusted? Another claim was that 413,000 Tibetans died of starvation, while in 1990 a book by the Tibet government in Exile stated that actually 343,000 Tibetans died. In 1991,the Dalai Lama stated that the number was 200,000.
1.2 mil? Did you know that the numbers given by the Government of Tibet in Exile are very questionable, they claim to have gotten the number of population in 1959 from an article published by the National Bureau of Statistics of PRC. They claim that there were 6.33 mil Tibetans that time.
While the First National Chinese Census 1954 show us that there were 2.77 mil Tibetans. Even a British scholar and diplomat to Tibet estimated the number of Tibetans to be 4-5 mil in 1930s, how odd.

I have lived with Tibetans, Chinese and Mongols since 1987. None of you eat babies or faeces; you actually have a lot in common. Yin Yang; 5 elements & Golden Mean; But mostly you don't know each others languages or culture. The European Union is more tolerant of each others differences.
I think it is really redundant to explain and explain to those China Haters the real situation in Tibet. The truth is that they hate China only because they hate China. And that's it.
Those guys wana boycott Beijing, wana boycott Chinese products, then just go ahead. Chinese really do not care about that at all.
Chinese (in China and overseas) might account for 30% of the population on this planet, and they are getting richer and stronger day by day. And thats why haters pop up.
China's growing prosperity has nothing to do with the protests against its gross violations of human values. These are universal basic standards in the modern world today, as Chinese leaders are now learning.
Some good advice for Chinese leaders from a very intelligent analysis in the Guardian today (a clue is here for those who want to search for it).
Tibet's population was 1.2 million in 1959, and in 2006 there are 2.6 million tibetans enjoying their privilages of free education, health care, government welfare system. talk to those normal tibetans who were once slaves, not the slave masters such as Dalying Lama. I believe one day, the dalying lamas conscience will make him apologize for all these troubles he made.
Dunken1234, since my tools are not working right now, I can't tell if you are another PRC plant or not. But your page is filled with PRC propaganda, and your stats are wrong. The 2.6 million number was drawn up by the PRC, and many Tibetans (I have been there just last year) still live in complete poverty. Most of the economic growth has centered around the 7.5million Han Chinese now living there.
If you throw everything make in China out of the street now then I will stand by your side and boycott China. That's probably include your under pants too.
Post a video here and show me you support to Tibet.
Protests, vigils, and marches took place in over 80 cities and 27 countries around the globe today, stepping up demands for the Olympic Torch not to be carried through Tibet. In Tibet, food and water supplies have reportedly been cut off at the three major monasteries around Lhasa. One hundred and forty Tibetans have died and more than a thousand Tibetans have been detained since the uprising began with peaceful protests on 10 March.
Accusing me and others who have the slightest semblance of skepticism of being CCP propagandists will only discredit your position in the long run, because I am not a CCP propagandist, and each person you wrongfully accuse of having ties with the CCP will become more skeptical of your position.
I don't believe most CCP rhetoric on the DL. However, the Chinese are at an advantage in that people are already skeptical of the CCP, and only recently becoming disillusioned to anti-CCP rhetoric. cont.
asw654: you are an intelligent commenter, and I value your presence here. I'm sorry that this YT glitch caused misunderstanding. I guess it's necessary to include a name in the reply.
But do click on Papajac's name, see what he's up to. I posted that comment to him after that. And you thought it was you! Very sorry.
Yes, the CCP is playing the riot for all it's worth (who can blame them), but it only exacerbates the situation when individuals within the "free Tibet" community fight fire with fire and engage in a propaganda war. The photo of Chinese police carrying monk's robes, which was unveiled to have come from a movie set? If what Ehron Asher (Tibetan Buddhist) revealed is true, that's truly an embarrassment.
It does no good disillusioning even those who are (or were) supportive of the Tibetan cause.
To reiterate, the Tibetan community would only be fighting on the CCP's turf, because they already have a reputation (warranted or not) for this.
This is an unfortunate situation for frustrated "free Tibet" community, that the younger generations whom obviously lack the patience of the DL. I think the DL knows what's going on, but doesn't have many options, and is trying to work with what he has, that is more autonomy and not total independence of Tibet.
I wondered if you might be a western "useful idiot" (old Soviet term for "western leftist"), who read too much Parenti. Or were a disciple, or something.
But no, just a run-of-the-mill CCP propagandist.
Tibet was one of the very first countries to have abolished the death penalty, during 13th Dalai Lama time. Those stupid gruesome stories mostly come from wild accounts by unreliable sources. Parenti et al pick and chop from 100+ year old rumours.
I wondered if you might deliberately misinterpret what I wrote to make me appear to be "just a run-of-the-mill CCP propagandist".
I never made any claims to believe the gruesome reports/stories of Tibetan tortures. I merely mentioned that the attitude of certain people who regularly visit Phayul actually brings more credit/validity to those stories than they might deserve.
*Certainly*, it doesn't help the myth that Tibetans are always passive/peaceful when you read or hear from Tibetans encouraging others to strap bombs to themselves and become martyrs?
Is that really how it's playing over there (you're in the US?). That's what the headlines are saying?
You have NOT heard Tibetans encouraging that stuff, it's straight propaganda from CCP gov't. World leaders have been telling them it's bs. Nobody believes the Chinese position. Repeating it as fact is not quite proper, surely we can agree on that.
Although it's not what I'm referring to specifically, that *is* what Chinese media is inferring. There are also comparisons of the riot to the LA riot about a decade ago.
However, the comment about suicide bombing was actually a reference to a suggestive post in the Phayul forums. I'll keep in mind that the forum might not be a reflection on the overall site.
asw6654: Right, it is what the Cn media/gov't (same thing) is claiming, not inferring.
You said "when you read or hear from Tibetans..." wanting murder, you heard a Tibetan say this? Are you SURE he's Tibetan? I'd condemn him whoever he is. But are you sure?
Phayul are good people, in my opinion. I've no time for reading the forums.
I'm quite certain. Another poster criticized him for encouraging innocent Tibetans to sacrifice themselves, and they engaged in argot that I'm fairly certain ordinary Han people would be lost in. And he seemed to be a regular.
Obviously, I'm not about to condemn an entire group just because of the irresponsible voices of a few extremists, but I'm not surprised. They are human, and amongst a group of frustrated people, irresponsible things will be said.
Out of a large group of frustrated people, a few hundred decided to riot, and it became violent. That seems a lot more reasonable and believable than the reverse, that Tibetans have inhuman tolerance that makes them incapable of violence whatsoever, and that the violence and vandalism was orchestrated by the Chinese army.
The latter only encourages more doubt, speculation, and possibly even sympathy for China's side of the story.
To elaborate on this sympathy. A lot of criticisms I've read, I've had first hand experience questioning during my stays in China. The discrepancy between the Tibetans and Han Chinese' view of gov't support of minorities. The Han Chinese see numerous policies that explicitly give advantages to minorities that would make our (America's) own Affirmative Action seem trivial by comparison. Yet I read contradictory reports/news of complaints from Tibetans about lack of job opportunity.
I've concluded that a lot of these complaints are similar to other complaints I've seen/read/heard from Chinese of other ethnicities. I firmly believe that while the complaints are valid, they are directed towards the wrong party. It's just racism/discrimination, and very unlikely to do with a massive gov't plot to favor Han Chinese. Individuals (whether they be Han, or rich, or city-slickers, etc) can be racist.
So yes, I find it completely believable that employers in Tibet might be unfairly underemploying ethnic Tibetans, but can we say for certain that:
1. only ethnic Tibetans are discriminated in this fashion?
2. this is the CCP's plot? or the responsibility of *individuals* showing favoritism and/or racism as it is almost everywhere else in China... or even Asia... or even the entire world?
Scenarios similar to these make it difficult for many of us to determine what is and is not a misunderstanding.
The CCP's history makes it even more difficult to sympathize with them, as well as its structure. It's treated as a monolithic entity, which even itself wants to maintain the appearance of, and it seems to be absorbing all the blame for everything wrong (country/history). Much easier to forgive is my own gov't, in which each side can always blame its own faults on its other half.
Correcting myself, I do not mean just "racist". These individuals can be discriminatory in general (whether it be discrimination by race, class, wealth, region, etc).
The Han do discriminate against each other as well. "Farmers" (basically referring to any who didn't grow up in a larger city) in general have a difficult time finding salaried jobs. It's an unfortunate coincidence that most minorities are farmers, but not exclusive to them and it occurs to Han too, from what I've seen.
No please, it's that YouTube system not nesting comments properly. I'm replying to Popajac. Crap, it sucks that you thought I was talking to you, asw654!
If anything, the site has only reaffirmed my view that Tibetans ARE human, that they are very much capable of hate and violence.
Just listen to some of their posts on Champa Phuntsok. Shady individual for sure, but posting about gouging out his eyes, and tearing off his fingernails for being a "traitor" only fits right into supposed Chinese propaganda of Tibetan history (and their tortures/punishments) before Tibet was "liberated".
Not every act of aggression is staged by CCP propaganda.
Don't confuse the commenters at Phayul, with those who write and collect the news stories. Have you ever read the comments sections on any Washington Post articles concerning divisive issues?
Yes. I noticed a couple very obvious ones. They were shot down quickly and almost unanimously.
But I HIGHLY doubt they were hired by the CCP. I think most pro-Chinese posts are by Chinese who support their country, right or wrong. I honestly think you overestimate the CCP.
You make a mockery of "truthers" as you call them, so don't start using the same logic against others. We hear enough conspiracy theories of stock market paid-bashers, gov't propaganda artists, 9/11 being an inside job.
In fact, I think it's ridiculous how overestimated the CCP is. (Look at China's official news sites/gates! The technologies and content involved are rivaled by sites put up by small American startups.)
The rumors and evidence I've seen/heard of this supposedly powerful Chinese propaganda had about as much merit as wild theories I've heard from eccentric friends/colleagues on Disney's mind control projects (of which they've provided plenty of compelling evidence, even for this skeptic).
You may be right about most, but they're around. By "CCP warriors" I mean the real committed ones, who've been doing it for years, 'fightin' whitey' or whatever else, Tibet always involved. I also doubt they're hired, but their devotion is to the Party.
And also lots and lots and lots of good Chinese people who see things one way, the permanent governing Party way, out of love for China.
Would be nice if some of those, may consider a Tibetan's love of country as precious as their own.
NixKah: "actually i read some reports about the army surrounded the temples before, of course not as many reports as on Phayul..."
===
Of course you wouldn't have read as many reports as you'd see on Phayul. I went to the site, browsed through the reports, the radio, and its forums, and it's immediately obvious that the site is run by very obviously biased and people emotionally involved. I make no claims on whether that emotional involvement is justified or not.
Let's accept your suggestion, for argument's sake. "use force if can not avoid."
Can you explain why the military or police didn't kill any of the violent rioters on March 14 (they say they didn't), but they have killed dozens and dozens of people and monks marching noisily but peacefully all across eastern Tibet? Is there no other response to flag-waving and slogan-chanting, than to shoot them?
send army to control the riots . do you think the western country will smile and send you flowers and tell you go ahead when face this? let the army take control . use force if can not avoid . kill arm criminal and bring peace to ordinary people.
The PRC learned back during a certain riot in a certain square to get media control ASAP so that any response they showed could be shown in the best light and how they wanted it to be viewed. If the PRC is growing up its doing so in ways of control and censorship not in peoples rights and freedom of speech/media.
60+ years of occupation and control creates bad blood in any situation. I whole heartedly support those Tibetans that want their freedom back and wish to be self governing.
1949~1959, Tibet WAS a part of China with an high degree of autonomy, agreed by Tibet government(14th Dalai Lama as its leader);
1954~, CIA started helping independence/separating Tibet from China;
1959, 14th Dalai Lama betrayed his agreement "Tibet is a part of China" & declared the "independence" of Tibet, and then went to India with Tibetans who agreed with independence.
1271~1368(元朝Yuan Dynasty), Tibet WAS a part of China(Yuan Empire/Dynasty);
1368~1644(明朝MIng Dynasty), Tibet WAS a part of China(Ming Empire/Dynasty);
1644~1911(清朝Qing Dynasty), Tibet WAS a part of China(Qing Empire/ Dynasty);
During World War II, China lost many of its lands including Tibet. Tho on paper, Tibet WAS still a part of China(Republic of China) agreed by Tibet government;
Thank anti-China, now we have anti-cnn. What a nice anti VS anti. Western medias now u got what u want, westerners & Chinese anti each other, happy? Good. Let's keep it live!
CCP medias r Liars & western medias r Hypocrites.
i'm afraid a prefer simple liars CCP.
CCP should say thankyou to all of u. CCP win support from free tibet issue.
Of course, perhaps the Chinese gov't response was a little more severe than than how our own US gov'ts may have been, but who knows?
What should any govt do in this situation? Leave them be, because they are Tibetans they *must* be peaceful protesters, right? They should be left alone?
What does the American govt do when hundreds of people gather? Police are at the scene, and they arrest some people who they deem may be dangerous. When things look get out of control, riot control is used.
No, but that's exactly what the police did for 24 hours. When violence broke out on the 14th, police ran away and didn't intervene until the 15th. What were they doing?
Taking lots of pictures and video, which they made into dramatic propaganda to make Chinese hate Tibetans more. Still playing on CCTV. Dangerous strategy.
They could have restored order, arrested the people doing violence, when it started. They let it go. Ask yourself why.
There were peaceful demonstrations before the riot in China. However, even then it was never as one-sided as you claim. Hundreds of people were there, and while the majority of the protests in the videos shown of those mostly involved flagwaving and shouting, you could still make out people tossing rocks at windows while parading, destroying public property, generally being a public nuisance to those who weren't participating or didn't want to participate.
time as came really for action , not as member of any political party or any adherents to any particular religion but as an member of human race who respect the dignity of human freedom of each and every individual,.... join us this time and speack up for freedom and justice............... you can also make difference at the local level by looking twice at the lable on the product you buy MADE IN CHINA ? NOT THIS TIME..
There are so many times that CNN and BBC distorted news about China and spreading misperception on China. Their reportings are nothing but polical propaganda aiming at spreading their deeply-held prejudice again China. They think they know China better than Chinese. They are wrong. Freedom of expression is captalized and manipulated by them and become freedom of distortion. Shame on CNN and BBC!
To people who support separating Tibet from China:
If u really wanna help Tibetans win their rights, stop supporting independence. Because, like Dalai Lama said, independence is impractical. Supporting separating China would never effectively help Tibetans while supporting their religion freedom & autonomy would. I know which most Chinese people wouldn't accept and which they would. If u trust me and truly wanna help them, do it, in a smarter way. If u don't, just ignore me please.
If China can cancel all monks , no matter any race .... Tibet or Han or ..., China will save a lot lot of food. Chinese mGovernment, please arrange all monks to work in manufactories..... do it now please.!!! more than 3 millions monks in China.
Chinese police,u should catch all the dalailama's supporter as soon as possible and as much as possible. If it is possible, sentence them to death if not they will do that again.
We don't care the western rubish media at all coz only the rubish idiots will trust them.Coz the idots lost jobs they don't have money so they have to release their stress.
All Tibetans, apart from a few who are CCP officials, are what you call Dalai Lama's supporters. After 50 years, vast majority of Tibetans love him and want him home.
If CCP should do what you ask (catch DL supporters and sentence to death), they will need to slaughter 99% of the country. That's what you want, isn't it?
The world is now seeing true face of CCP. The Cultural Revolution is back again. If they do what you want, China will be an outcast forever, or until Chinese people overthrow.
China stop the invading Spratly and Paracel islands of Vietnam. Don't play dirty games with Vietnam like China's played with Tibet. Red China gets out of Vietnam's islands, Paracel & Spratly!
Hi, American, if 10 thousand Tibetan holding big sharp swords in front of White House to mae a **peaceful protest**, do you know what will the American police shall take action?? hahaha, I thinks their police will kiss the Tibetan ! right???
Some few Tibetans took to violence, and that was wrong. HHDL told them it was wrong. They were the minority of the thousands who protested peacefully, and who the CCP will NOT show pictures of. More than 130 Tibetan deaths now confirmed. Killed by Chinese bullets. Why do they shoot people for singing and waving flags all over Tibet, but they didn't shoot rioters in Lhasa?
Oh yeah, they shot pictures and video while they allowed the looting and violence to proceed unhindered for a full day.
I don't know why no other country give some mercy to the hundred persons were killed by Tibetan. From this case I don't beleive what they always talking about humanity, fair, justics..... why Tibetan can kill and burn other people , but the police cannot catch them to jail.. fair???
Why Chinese soldier can shoot and kill peaceful Tibetans all over the plateau, far from Lhasa, but no one can touch them? Why riot police did nothing for 24 hours in Lhasa, until the 15th? Busy taking pictures and video, that's why.
There are very few pictures from March 14 riots on the wires, which aren't provided by CCP. NYT has some.
Chinese Police ! please catch these violent people to jail , and execute the people who murdered or burnt other chinese. No need to worry other country to say anything. Police , please do your job now now now!!!!
The chinese government killed more than 100 Tibetans this time and arrest them by going into houses !! Millions killed back in 1950s..read some history, man
No, his religion is kindness, he has vowed to resign his position as head of the exiled state of Tibet if Tibetans adopt violent means. The peaceful marches of monks and people began on March 10,and were forcibly repressed with tear gas, bullets and arrests. Largest monasteries in Tibet were sealed off by troops, Lhasa riots started 4 days later. Dozens more peaceful protests across Amdo and Kham have been met by lethal force. By far the majority of Tibetans are not using violence, but China is.
dalai Lama is a liar. has 10 million washed brain to follow. He want to be a king of Tibetan as same as Bin Ladin. He will resign?? You beleive it but not me. you are too kind or too childish.
You are the liar. Tibetans have had democratically elected parliament for more than 40 years, and now an elected prime minister. They have this only in exile. HHDL doesn't want to be any king. He wants basic freedom for his people.
CCP has hundreds of millions truly brainwashed. But tens of millions are quitting the Commie Party, and more will continue to reject the brainwashing in the future.
The elected government in exile is headed by an elected prime minister, accountable to an elected parliament. There is no political democracy in occupied Tibet itself.
HHDL has said that whether he should continue in the role of Tibetan Buddhist spiritual leader, should be up to all Tibetans to decide democratically.
He wants to go home and retire. If they DID have elections in Tibet, let's say between DL and Hu Jintao, DL would win by a landslide. Or whatever is bigger than a landslide.
if you feel like it.... Maybe you wanna give the Aboriginees some state to govern themselves.. I would love to see them try. Or why not make Queensland independent.... oh well none really care about it but if they did they should have all the right to do it
Religion of dalai Lama --- burning, killing + voilency. All tibetan carrying big knife are ready to kill before their portest. I wish all the Police in the whole world countries be carefully.
minor Tibetans deserve death cuz they're terrorists. It's hard to tell truth to western people cuz they will never learn what really happend in the Tibet before. Anyways, news from Western media are biased, indeed, chinese blocks the news, but west makes the news!!! Shame on WESTERN MEDIA. If you don't believe me, check out this video EVdx3Qh5Ct8 .
Spewing Hatred ? Your creating that , I just see the way you 'react'to Tibet wanting to be independent, There's no 'love', or usual 'national pride parades', It seems to the outside world that you are just being 'unreasonable' , maybe in fact you are taking this stand in order to tell the outside world to politely 'swivel'. So, if the media is so 'off the mark' then please explain why you are so adamant to hold Tibet?, is it Mountain holidays ? exploitation ? Brotherliness!? Or just to be proud
agam4,,you realize that the thugs in this video trying to intrude into banks, personal properties, and throwing rocks at cops are Tibetans right ??.....Why are people wielding blades and holding brass chains on the street in a "peaceful demonstration"?....
Your lovely and talented communist gov't has spent nearly six decades making these Buddhists this angry. How they only erupted twice since HHDL's exile, is beyond me. They're more patient than any other national example I can think of.
And the violent ones are clearly in the minority. Most of the dozens of protests TILL NOW ONGOING, involve SINGING, CHANTING slogans and RAISING flags from one side, and LETHAL FORCE from the other.
Why isn't your CCP showing any of that on tv?Something to hide?
CCP government? As far as I know, even CBC and CNN don't have footage of lethal force. I don't know what is there to hide. Actually hearing all these accusations, I've on google trying to find footage of police using lethal force, found none though. And ya, don't say my internet is censored; I live in Canada.
Censored at source of course. All reporters have been evicted from Tibetan areas where dozens of peaceful protests have happened, and are still going on today. The information clampdown was strict and immediate, but there are many eyewitness reports (eg: via TCHRD and ICT).
The rioting scenes are broadcast repeatedly by CCP controlled media - that's all they want you (and especially Chinese citizens) to know about. CCP claim NO Tibetans killed. Pictures tell a different story.
Well of course, claiming No Tibetans were killed is not realistic. In the course of subduing violent demonstrators, casualties are inevitable, even from the police side. However, as for shooting peaceful demonstrators who only raised their flag, I'd like to see proof of it.
I mean not to be biased or anything, you know Tianman Square incident was censored too but I can still find tons of proof of police shooting at unarmed students. So until I see proof of this one, I can't be certain of it.
wanna to view the gruesome work of Chinese authorities in Tibet by shot and kill Tibetan protesters. View this slide show, 'cost of free Tibet'on youtube, more and more pictures will be uploaded once they get out of Tibet.
Oh look, a loon on speed. I'd love to take you on in debate, but doing it with these little tiny comments is useless. I know the differences between Chinese version of history and Tibet's version of her own history. I've been studying both for many years.
The DL 13th's declaration was not to separate from any country, it was a re-affirm of Tibet's sovereignty after fall of Qing. The near countries Tibet had treaties with recognized her. Even China did once, written in stone.
What began as a peaceful demonstration by monks on the anniversary of a failed uprising in 1949 has escalated into widespread demonstrations, with accounts emerging of security forces using live bullets, tear gas and other means to restore order.
do u know anything about Buddism? as what i know, their religion not allowing any sharp thing like knife or violence. they tell people to be generous, kindly and accepting. somehow even theyre in danger, Buddist monks, they only can use the sticks as weapons.
cuz they belive in the hereafter people would pay back what they had done bad during the life time.
it's hard to believe REAL Buddists would help them to robber a store in that video. are they try to betray what they belief!?
So ,I would rather believe those people who robbering stores, destroying buildings and hurting innocents are all terrorists related. whatever I won't see this sort of video anymore, it makes me feel the whole world sucks
Yes, people of Portugal were among the strongest supporters during Timor crisis in 1999. Worldwide outcry led to UN intervention, and Indonesia accepted it.
You think East Timor separated from Portugal? Read up again on your recent history.
lol... people living in East Timor for long long time are portugalnese? I think they are indoneasian... I dont know the history, but after East Timor has been seperated, Indonesian hate Australian the most.
No, I didn't say ETimor people were Portuguese. But as the former colonial power in ETimor, Portugal was solidly supporting their aspiration to independence, and pushed hard for rapid intervention when Indonesian army was rampaging after the referendum. It was a crisis and the world acted quickly, for a change.
Intervention was a UN operation. Indonesians who are inclined to blame someone over it, tend to blame Habibie.
wow... that is freaking absurd, people of Portugal supported the aspirations of East Timor people??? it is not support of aspiration but agitating people to separate, how come they partition their lands instead of being nosy to other countries?
Tibet declared her independence in 1913???
what about 1045 BC there were 7 kingdoms in China, how come they didnt declaire independence?? lol....
Why East Timor won its freedom? They voted 85% under UN referendum NOT to belong to their colonising oppressors. To be a responsible country, Indonesia had to accept it.
When will China be a responsible country, and stop "owning" a people who don't wish to be owned by them?
The people of Portugal supported the aspirations of East Timor people very well 9 years ago. It gave me the impression that Portuguese folks were strong believers in freedom. Of course there are always exceptions.
for those who feel comfortable when criticise China in name of human rights, China threat, taiwan issue and so on, please learn some Chinese, and for god's sake, please do some research on Chinese history before you think you really understand what's going on in China, especially in Tibet at this particular moment. As a reminder, in addition to the facts listed in this video, you should know what Dalai lama's trying to recover is his power as the lord of salvery in Tibet, NOT freedom in Tibet.
I'll read Chinese history when you read some Tibetan history. Tibet declared her independence in 1913, and nothing China could do about it. Tibet was neutral during WW II, against China's wishes.
Dalai Lama wanted to change Tibet to democratic system before the commies took over (he was only 16). After exile, he pushed Tibetans toward democracy values - they have elected parliamentary representation and PM is elected too. The only slavery is under China.
how come Ireland couldnt be independent of UK? How come Quebec could nt be independent of Canada?? and Perth in Australia as well.
Also East Timor, Kosovo should be belonging to their own coutnry but finally ended up independent. this is a political game, dont say free Tibet all the time... make me laugh.
You need to read some news. Ireland has been a country for nearly a century. Quebec held a referendum on sovereignty more than a decade ago, they voted to stay in Canada. East Timor won its independence nearly 8 years ago. Kosovo is the newest independent nation.
You think Muslim fundamentalists are leading Tibetan protests? Why not the legitimate right of self determination by Tibet's own people?
Wacky conspiracy theories don't help anyone. Tibet watchers have been seeing for years that the Tibetan sentiments frequently come out in many ways, and the situation could again reach a crisis like '88-'89. It finally happened, and isn't a big surprise to those paying attention.
I didn't have feelings about Tibet independence some time ago, now I begin to hate them. At least I see cars and buildings burnt and smashed. Is there ANY evidence showing that the owners of the cars and buildings have offended the Tibetan's rights and must pay for the loss themselves because of some behaviors by some retarded riots? Those riots fooled both Chinese(Tibetan) people and Dalai, who only wish to solve the problem in a peaceful way.

ChinaKillsNuns 3 years ago
Ya CIA releases information in their CIA world fact book, and things like average GDP per person, military spending, transportation, land mass? loll?? Did I need CIA to find me these facts?
What I mean is sensitive intelligence information, obtained from spy satellites. Who the hell is stupid enough to openly say "hey I was spying on you and here is what I found"?
markfeng66 3 years ago
Countries will release any information if it suits them. The US let the world know about the capability of its nuclear submarines, when it had no need to.
ChinaKillsNuns 3 years ago
Ya the capability of its own nuclear submarines. Would it release the detail of let's say a Russian submarine capability that CIA had obtained? Of course not.
markfeng66 3 years ago
The CIA does all sorts of stuff. They would do almost anything to get their way. Just like your beloved chinese communist party.
ChinaKillsNuns 3 years ago
"Get their way". And ya, leaking an intelligence information obtained from another ocuntry is not "getting their way". More like getting their ass kicked. Mouthing off like that can get one of their spies caught or even executed.
Clearly you lack common sense.
markfeng66 3 years ago
Not all the information you release will get people killed, if you know what you are doing.
ChinaKillsNuns 3 years ago
Please, stop the non-sense. What purpose does releasing sensitive information serve? The only people who need those info are the US and British military.
And anyhow, since nothing on Tibet was mentioned GCHQ official website, your lie is busted. No such statement was ever made.

Agents of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, the PLA, posing as monks, triggering the riots
is probably not senstive information.

WHy is the "confirmation" not on GCHQ official site? Can you just stop lying?
markfeng66 3 years ago
Why would the common people need to know the capability of a Russian submarine? A Chinese jet fighter? Where their troops are? Where their leaders went to? What purpose is achieved by releasing sensitive information? Can you just stop the nonsense?

How is it not sensitive information? Assuming that the PLA did do that, it would be something that PLA is desperate to hide. Why would the British want to inform PLA that they were able to detect the PLA posing as monks?
Anyhow, answer my question, why is the statement not available on GCHQ's website?

Even Michael Parenti once wrote in his book: "Friendly Feudalism: The Tibet Myth": " The official 1953 census recorded the entire population residing in Tibet at 1.274 mil. Other census counts put the population within Tibet at about 2 mil..."
Is the Tibet government to be trusted? Another claim was that 413,000 Tibetans died of starvation, while in 1990 a book by the Tibet government in Exile stated that actually 343,000 Tibetans died. In 1991,the Dalai Lama stated that the number was 200,000.
FrACt05 3 years ago

1) Stop digging
2) Get some honest advice and listen to it
3) Take the initiative back.
The last will be the most difficult.

Tibet's population was 1.2 million in 1959, and in 2006 there are 2.6 million tibetans enjoying their privilages of free education, health care, government welfare system. talk to those normal tibetans who were once slaves, not the slave masters such as Dalying Lama.
However, the Chinese are at an advantage in that people are already skeptical of the CCP, and only recently becoming disillusioned to anti-CCP rhetoric. cont.

It does no good disillusioning even those who are (or were) supportive of the Tibetan cause.
asw654 3 years ago
To reiterate, the Tibetan community would only be fighting on the CCP's turf, because they already have a reputation (warranted or not) for this.
This is an unfortunate situation for frustrated "free Tibet" community, that the younger generations whom obviously lack the patience of the DL. I think the DL knows what's going on, but doesn't have many options, and is trying to work with what he has, that is more autonomy and not total independence of Tibet.
asw654 3 years ago
I wondered if you might be a western "useful idiot" (old Soviet term for "western leftist"), who read too much Parenti. Or were a disciple, or something.
But no, just a run-of-the-mill CCP propagandist.
Tibet was one of the very first countries to have abolished the death penalty, during 13th Dalai Lama time. Those stupid gruesome stories mostly come from wild accounts by unreliable sources. Parenti et al pick and chop from 100+ year old rumours.
But you get it straight from the party, eh?
agam4 3 years ago
I wondered if you might deliberately misinterpret what I wrote to make me appear to be "just a run-of-the-mill CCP propagandist".
I never made any claims to believe the gruesome reports/stories of Tibetan tortures. I merely mentioned that the attitude of certain people who regularly visit Phayul actually brings more credit/validity to those stories than they might deserve.
asw654 3 years ago
*Certainly*, it doesn't help the myth that Tibetans are always passive/peaceful when you read or hear from Tibetans encouraging others to strap bombs to themselves and become martyrs?
Surely, we can both agree on that.
asw654 3 years ago
Is that really how it's playing over there (you're in the US?). That's what the headlines are saying?
You have NOT heard Tibetans encouraging that stuff, it's straight propaganda from CCP gov't. World leaders have been telling them it's bs. Nobody believes the Chinese position. Repeating it as fact is not quite proper, surely we can agree on that.
agam4 3 years ago
Although it's not what I'm referring to specifically, that *is* what Chinese media is inferring. There are also comparisons of the riot to the LA riot about a decade ago.
However, the comment about suicide bombing was actually a reference to a suggestive post in the Phayul forums. I'll keep in mind that the forum might not be a reflection on the overall site.
asw654 3 years ago
asw6654: Right, it is what the Cn media/gov't (same thing) is claiming, not inferring.
You said "when you read or hear from Tibetans..." wanting murder, you heard a Tibetan say this? Are you SURE he's Tibetan? I'd condemn him whoever he is. But are you sure?
Phayul are good people, in my opinion. I've no time for reading the forums.
agam4 3 years ago
I'm quite certain. Another poster criticized him for encouraging innocent Tibetans to sacrifice themselves, and they engaged in argot that I'm fairly certain ordinary Han people would be lost in. And he seemed to be a regular.
Obviously, I'm not about to condemn an entire group just because of the irresponsible voices of a few extremists, but I'm not surprised. They are human, and amongst a group of frustrated people, irresponsible things will be said.
I applied that same idea to the riot.
asw654 3 years ago
Out of a large group of frustrated people, a few hundred decided to riot, and it became violent. That seems a lot more reasonable and believable than the reverse, that Tibetans have inhuman tolerance that makes them incapable of violence whatsoever, and that the violence and vandalism was orchestrated by the Chinese army.
The latter only encourages more doubt, speculation, and possibly even sympathy for China's side of the story.
asw654 3 years ago
To elaborate on this sympathy. A lot of criticisms I've read, I've had first hand experience questioning during my stays in China. The discrepancy between the Tibetans and Han Chinese' view of gov't support of minorities. The Han Chinese see numerous policies that explicitly give advantages to minorities that would make our (America's) own Affirmative Action seem trivial by comparison. Yet I read contradictory reports/news of complaints from Tibetans about lack of job opportunity.
asw654 3 years ago
I've concluded that a lot of these complaints are similar to other complaints I've seen/read/heard from Chinese of other ethnicities. I firmly believe that while the complaints are valid, they are directed towards the wrong party. It's just racism/discrimination, and very unlikely to do with a massive gov't plot to favor Han Chinese. Individuals (whether they be Han, or rich, or city-slickers, etc) can be racist.
asw654 3 years ago
So yes, I find it completely believable that employers in Tibet might be unfairly underemploying ethnic Tibetans, but can we say for certain that:
1. only ethnic Tibetans are discriminated in this fashion?
2. this is the CCP's plot? or the responsibility of *individuals* showing favoritism and/or racism as it is almost everywhere else in China... or even Asia... or even the entire world?
asw654 3 years ago
Scenarios similar to these make it difficult for many of us to determine what is and is not a misunderstanding.
The CCP's history makes it even more difficult to sympathize with them, as well as its structure. It's treated as a monolithic entity, which even itself wants to maintain the appearance of, and it seems to be absorbing all the blame for everything wrong (country/history). Much easier to forgive is my own gov't, in which each side can always blame its own faults on its other half.
asw654 3 years ago
Correcting myself, I do not mean just "racist". These individuals can be discriminatory in general (whether it be discrimination by race, class, wealth, region, etc).
The Han do discriminate against each other as well. "Farmers" (basically referring to any who didn't grow up in a larger city) in general have a difficult time finding salaried jobs. It's an unfortunate coincidence that most minorities are farmers, but not exclusive to them and it occurs to Han too, from what I've seen.
asw654 3 years ago

agam4 3 years ago
Well then, sorry about the misunderstanding.
asw654 3 years ago
If anything, the site has only reaffirmed my view that Tibetans ARE human, that they are very much capable of hate and violence.
Just listen to some of their posts on Champa Phuntsok. Shady individual for sure, but posting about gouging out his eyes, and tearing off his fingernails for being a "traitor" only fits right into supposed Chinese propaganda of Tibetan history (and their tortures/punishments) before Tibet was "liberated".
Not every act of aggression is staged by CCP propaganda.
asw654 3 years ago
Don't confuse the commenters at Phayul, with those who write and collect the news stories. Have you ever read the comments sections on any Washington Post articles concerning divisive issues?
agam4 3 years ago
Also, CCP cyber-warriors are known to register at Phayul just to stir things up. But you probably noticed that too.
agam4 3 years ago
We hear enough conspiracy theories of stock market paid-bashers, gov't propaganda artists, 9/11 being an inside job.
asw654 3 years ago
In fact, I think it's ridiculous how overestimated the CCP is. (Look at China's official news sites/gates! The technologies and content involved are rivaled by sites put up by small American startups.)
The rumors and evidence I've seen/heard of this supposedly powerful Chinese propaganda had about as much merit as wild theories I've heard from eccentric friends/colleagues on Disney's mind control projects (of which they've provided plenty of compelling evidence, even for this skeptic).
asw654 3 years ago
You may be right about most, but they're around. By "CCP warriors" I mean the real committed ones, who've been doing it for years, 'fightin' whitey' or whatever else, Tibet always involved. I also doubt they're hired, but their devotion is to the Party.
And also lots and lots and lots of good Chinese people who see things one way, the permanent governing Party way, out of love for China.
Would be nice if some of those, may consider a Tibetan's love of country as precious as their own.
agam4 3 years ago
NixKah: "actually i read some reports about the army surrounded the temples before, of course not as many reports as on Phayul..."
===
Of course you wouldn't have read as many reports as you'd see on Phayul. I went to the site, browsed through the reports, the radio, and its forums, and it's immediately obvious that the site is run by very obviously biased and people emotionally involved. I make no claims on whether that emotional involvement is justified or not.
asw654 3 years ago
Let's accept your suggestion, for argument's sake. "use force if can not avoid."
Can you explain why the military or police didn't kill any of the violent rioters on March 14 (they say they didn't), but they have killed dozens and dozens of people and monks marching noisily but peacefully all across eastern Tibet? Is there no other response to flag-waving and slogan-chanting, than to shoot them?

The PRC learned back during a certain riot in a certain square to get media control ASAP so that any response they showed could be shown in the best light and how they wanted it to be viewed. If the PRC is growing up its doing so in ways of control and censorship not in peoples rights and freedom of speech/media.
60+ years of occupation and control creates bad blood in any situation. I whole heartedly support those Tibetans that want their freedom back and wish to be self governing.

When things look get out of control, riot control is used.
asw654 3 years ago
"They should be left alone?"
Ask yourself why.
agam4 3 years ago
According to reports, policemen were attacked too.
The videos we've been watching of the riots and riot control have been featuring Chinese *soldiers*, not policemen.
asw654 3 years ago
There were peaceful demonstrations before the riot in China. However, even then it was never as one-sided as you claim. Hundreds of people were there, and while the majority of the protests in the videos shown of those mostly involved flagwaving and shouting, you could still make out people tossing rocks at windows while parading, destroying public property, generally being a public nuisance to those who weren't participating or didn't want to participate.

If they do what you want, China will be an outcast forever, or until Chinese people overthrow.

if Tibetan are ** peacefull protest**, why suddently take out some sharp daggers under their cloth when police show up??
08steve15 3 years ago

From this case I don't beleive what they always talking about humanity, fair, justics..... why Tibetan can kill and burn other people , but the police cannot catch them to jail.. fair???
08steve15 3 years ago
Why Chinese soldier can shoot and kill peaceful Tibetans all over the plateau, far from Lhasa, but no one can touch them? Why riot police did nothing for 24 hours in Lhasa, until the 15th? Busy taking pictures and video, that's why.
There are very few pictures from March 14 riots on the wires, which aren't provided by CCP. NYT has some.

By far the majority of Tibetans are not using violence, but China is.
agam4 3 years ago
dalai Lama is a liar. has 10 million washed brain to follow. He want to be a king of Tibetan as same as Bin Ladin. He will resign?? You beleive it but not me. you are too kind or too childish.
08steve15 3 years ago
You are the liar. Tibetans have had democratically elected parliament for more than 40 years, and now an elected prime minister. They have this only in exile. HHDL doesn't want to be any king. He wants basic freedom for his people.
CCP has hundreds of millions truly brainwashed. But tens of millions are quitting the Commie Party, and more will continue to reject the brainwashing in the future.

Can Tibetans elect their leader--- what they called HHDL?
magicandy0 3 years ago
The elected government in exile is headed by an elected prime minister, accountable to an elected parliament. There is no political democracy in occupied Tibet itself.
HHDL has said that whether he should continue in the role of Tibetan Buddhist spiritual leader, should be up to all Tibetans to decide democratically.
He wants to go home and retire. If they DID have elections in Tibet, let's say between DL and Hu Jintao, DL would win by a landslide. Or whatever is bigger than a landslide.

Flyaaaa 3 years ago
Your lovely and talented communist gov't has spent nearly six decades making these Buddhists this angry. How they only erupted twice since HHDL's exile, is beyond me. They're more patient than any other national example I can think of.
And the violent ones are clearly in the minority. Most of the dozens of protests TILL NOW ONGOING, involve SINGING, CHANTING slogans and RAISING flags from one side, and LETHAL FORCE from the other.
Why isn't your CCP showing any of that on tv?Something to hide?
agam4 3 years ago
CCP government? As far as I know, even CBC and CNN don't have footage of lethal force. I don't know what is there to hide. Actually hearing all these accusations, I've on google trying to find footage of police using lethal force, found none though. And ya, don't say my internet is censored; I live in Canada.
Flyaaaa 3 years ago
Censored at source of course. All reporters have been evicted from Tibetan areas where dozens of peaceful protests have happened, and are still going on today. The information clampdown was strict and immediate, but there are many eyewitness reports (eg: via TCHRD and ICT).
The rioting scenes are broadcast repeatedly by CCP controlled media - that's all they want you (and especially Chinese citizens) to know about. CCP claim NO Tibetans killed. Pictures tell a different story.
agam4 3 years ago
Well of course, claiming No Tibetans were killed is not realistic. In the course of subduing violent demonstrators, casualties are inevitable, even from the police side. However, as for shooting peaceful demonstrators who only raised their flag, I'd like to see proof of it.
I mean not to be biased or anything, you know Tianman Square incident was censored too but I can still find tons of proof of police shooting at unarmed students. So until I see proof of this one, I can't be certain of it.
Flyaaaa 3 years ago
wanna to view the gruesome work of Chinese authorities in Tibet by shot and kill Tibetan protesters. View this slide show, 'cost of free Tibet'on youtube, more and more pictures will be uploaded once they get out of Tibet.
lobyuyen 3 years ago
Oh look, a loon on speed. I'd love to take you on in debate, but doing it with these little tiny comments is useless. I know the differences between Chinese version of history and Tibet's version of her own history. I've been studying both for many years.
The DL 13th's declaration was not to separate from any country, it was a re-affirm of Tibet's sovereignty after fall of Qing. The near countries Tibet had treaties with recognized her. Even China did once, written in stone.

##The TRUE reason for UNPLANNED riots##

Yes, people of Portugal were among the strongest supporters during Timor crisis in 1999. Worldwide outcry led to UN intervention, and Indonesia accepted it.
You think East Timor separated from Portugal? Read up again on your recent history.
agam4 3 years ago
lol... people living in East Timor for long long time are portugalnese? I think they are indoneasian... I dont know the history, but after East Timor has been seperated, Indonesian hate Australian the most.
DannyChan333 3 years ago
No, I didn't say ETimor people were Portuguese. But as the former colonial power in ETimor, Portugal was solidly supporting their aspiration to independence, and pushed hard for rapid intervention when Indonesian army was rampaging after the referendum. It was a crisis and the world acted quickly, for a change.
Intervention was a UN operation. Indonesians who are inclined to blame someone over it, tend to blame Habibie.
agam4 3 years ago
wow... that is freaking absurd, people of Portugal supported the aspirations of East Timor people??? it is not support of aspiration but agitating people to separate, how come they partition their lands instead of being nosy to other countries?
Tibet declared her independence in 1913???
what about 1045 BC there were 7 kingdoms in China, how come they didnt declaire independence?? lol....
DannyChan333 3 years ago
dont tell me other lands becoming independent is justified if they got approval by UN..
like your saying.. Ireland has been a country for nearly a century????
Tibet was a coutnry for MANY years untill last century.. so what???
DannyChan333 3 years ago
can you answer why ?? Easit Timor Won?? what reasons? the resons are justified? how come it become independent?
different race? different currency? different language? thay are all same.
it is only matter of western dreams. remember.. go to look at things wisely? how come taiwan can not still be independent?
Kosovo and East Timor become independent, because those countries were too poor to protect their lands..!! remember this.
Tibet will never be independent!let's look forward to it.
DannyChan333 3 years ago
Why East Timor won its freedom? They voted 85% under UN referendum NOT to belong to their colonising oppressors. To be a responsible country, Indonesia had to accept it.
When will China be a responsible country, and stop "owning" a people who don't wish to be owned by them?

for those who feel comfortable when criticise China in name of human rights, China threat, taiwan issue and so on, please learn some Chinese, and for god's sake, please do some research on Chinese history before you think you really understand what's going on in China, especially in Tibet at this particular moment. As a reminder, in addition to the facts listed in this video, you should know what Dalai lama's trying to recover is his power as the lord of salvery in Tibet, NOT freedom in Tibet.
zllhs 3 years ago
I'll read Chinese history when you read some Tibetan history. Tibet declared her independence in 1913, and nothing China could do about it. Tibet was neutral during WW II, against China's wishes.
Dalai Lama wanted to change Tibet to democratic system before the commies took over (he was only 16). After exile, he pushed Tibetans toward democracy values - they have elected parliamentary representation and PM is elected too. The only slavery is under China.
agam4 3 years ago
how come Ireland couldnt be independent of UK? How come Quebec could nt be independent of Canada?? and Perth in Australia as well.
Also East Timor, Kosovo should be belonging to their own coutnry but finally ended up independent. this is a political game, dont say free Tibet all the time... make me laugh.
DannyChan333 3 years ago
You need to read some news. Ireland has been a country for nearly a century. Quebec held a referendum on sovereignty more than a decade ago, they voted to stay in Canada. East Timor won its independence nearly 8 years ago. Kosovo is the newest independent nation.
You make me laugh too.
