I think everyone needs to keep in mind that Avril has the right to grow as an artist and a person. She can't hold onto her skater girl image into her forties just to keep everyone happy. Plus this was before her marriage ended, so I guess she'd be feeling pretty good about her love life at that point, so why shouldn't she write a song about it.
