Anything relate to ethnic or religious problems cannot be easily solved as history has proved (Don't say genocide). A few hundred years cannot solve the problems between Sunnis and Shiites. Saddam's dictatorship just hid the ethnic problems like what did in the former Yugoslavia. Iraq did not even exist before WW2. Apparently, Sunnis and Shiites have some historical problems and Kurds don't want to be a part of it（which makes Turks nervous a lot）.

Its neighbors also have different interests (Saudis are most Sunnis and Iran are most Shiites, some are Islam fundamentalists while other are more secular). Only some geniuses with good luck can solve the problem in a few decades and a country fights a long lasting war is not a good thing to itself particularly when the war is not that necessary.I just don't know how Americans clean up the mess. Anyway, none of our business. :)

As much as I like General Clark, ask yourself this: Why is Lamont trailing miserably to Senator Lieberman? What happened to those polls that said 2/3rds of America supports your anti-war position? What happened? Diebold?

It's almost impossible to dislodge an incumbent. I don't think you can fairly claim he's trailing miserably since Lamont won the primary & forced Lieberman- who not long ago was the Dems VP candidate- to run an indpendent campaign that is primarily funded by Republicans- Bloomberg, etc. ? Lamont, a newcomer, is only down a few points. The advantages of incumbency & the backing Lieberman has from "the lobby" etc. are considerable.
