Nicely done....great enthusiasm. Still having a little trouble with the D7#9/D7b9 transition...any chance of you taking that just a bit slower. Riff fills were great, they already spiced up my playing. Thanks for a great job.
You might want to check out Gilmores vid, it sounds like a minor to me, check it out and let me know what you think, also try to substitute E MINOR 9 for harmonics on 12th fret the dgbe if your playing with another rythym guitarist... I think its reffered to as a power chord in this vid but its actually a minor9th.
awesome stuff, thought I wish you woulda explained the chords past the augmented fill in cause I was confused after that. Like the fret numbers and stuff, can anyone list the chords in 0rder so I can just google um then to get it?
Very nice job showing the fingering, 'ol chap! Too bad your not in the states, we would have a jam session on our hands! Good stuff! I also do instructional stuff and have some Floyd up as well. Search americanrides for my version of Breathe. I listed the chords names in the comment section for anyone who still needs a little help! Learn this one and you WILL get the lady at the party! Take care, Dave the guitar guy!
Awsome Mr. pink floyd I learned it. Thanks so much !!! more floyd please like Run like hell and what do you want from me and poles apart thanks once again
I stand corrected , don't need that second string 3rd fret , you could play it but don't need it . You do however need a G on that C chord and you also need to fret an F with your thumb and slide it up to a G during the bridge . Here is Gilmour himself playing Breathe , look closely during the bridge you can see him fretting with his thumb . Gilmour likes depth to his chords and usually tacks on a bass note you normally wouldn't use . Colors it better . Sorry Jetsong !
btw you also need an extra note on the first chord too , hes right its a power Em but he didn't pickup the 7th , you need to fret the second string 3rd fret also , I use my second finger for it . Power chord your E normally with index and ring . Got to pickup that D with your 2nd finger though ! That gives it the erie sound your missing without it . Its an Em7th not an Em . This guy is a good teacher but just a tad off . Cheers from Nashville
Thank you thank you thank you! I appreciate it! I love this song and I always wanted to play it. Your an excellent teacher, but I must say, I laughed when you began to sing...but anyway, Thanks Again!
and the advice at the end is succint and true-get addicted to your baby so you just can't put 'er down. Then after awhile, you'll say, shit,I just played that perfectly ! We all gotta start somewhere guys/gals.
I like this guy. Very enthusiastic and explains the chords nicely. Its hard to see what the chords are unless they are posted somewhere along in the video and he does a great job. Keep it up dude.
looks exactly like my gibson j-185 jumbo cutaway... doesnt sound like it here .. trust me people , play one unplugged and and it makes allmost anything else sound like a toy guitar.. a dream plugged in as well.. a well explained , correct lesson ... thanks much !
Great teaching style, including the textual comments like smooth and the motivating comments at the end. For a one year self taught hacker such as myself it is right on the money.
pink floyd is my fav band and its the music i want to play i have only been playing the guitar for 6 months you brake it down brilliantly and make it so easy to learn thank you very much and how about doing wish you were here that would be fab thanks from graham from edinburgh scotland.
i remember when i first started, it was the most exciting thing... have fun, and i wish u the best of luck and i totally agree with you that this guy is one of the coolest guys teaching how to play on youtube

B minor 7 sounds better going into the F major 7 and that's how I have been playing it.

Maestro,
I love this. And the shouting? Sounds great. It's real. The accent and semi-gravelly voice go very well together.
The chords are put together very well and the teaching method fantastic...
Oops sorry mate, I do go on don't I?
I will stop the rambling now and go play my guitar like you said.
Cheers

There are actually 11 chords:
Em(add9), A, Asus4, A7, Cmaj7, Bm7, Fmaj7, G, D7#9, D7b9, Em7.
Nice lesson though, it really does explain the song in depth with a nice first part analysis.
