  • Top Cat was a Topper!!!

  • @viperkhan786 Agreed, m8...

  • Top cat is and always will be the biggest Boss :D

  • Dear Friends: TOP CAT is the most sensational cartoon of all times. One more HANNA-BARBERA masterpieces. A classics. I have watched TC since its first time on TV in 1961. I LOVE AND MISS TC SO MUCH. Thank you all for posting TC. Watch DON GATO THE MOVIE ALSO. GOD BLESS TC AND YOU ALL!

  • Why the series didn't last more than 30 episodes?

  • man do i miss this show!!!!!

  • Top Cat is awesome! I love it :D

  • 2 people in the world don't like classic 90's cartoons. shame.....

  • @riderdahedgehog Top Cat isn't a 90's cartoon.

  • deputy dog cartoon

  • @2000rubs The only version with the swirling star has re-created credits and was made in the 1980s. Originally, Top Cat had no closing logo after the credit sequence. Though after "A Hanna-Barbera production" there would be a message saying "Distributed by Screen Gems" or something like that.

  • @deyanmegara I used to see the 're-created credits' from the 1980s syndicated telecasts of 'Top Cat,' but on Boomerang the credits were restored, plus the All-Stars HB logo at the end.

  • @deyanmegara I'd say that it was "A Screen Gems Film Presentation, Television Subsidiary, Columbia Pictures Corporation.

  • Is this was the one with the Hanna-Barbera Productions/ Screen Gems lgo

  • Classic shows like these are what made CN memorable. I'm glad that Boomerang airs them but it was incredible when all these shows were on CN together.

  • When I was a small kid, I used to wish to have a high tech thrash can to live inside in. I am still 21 years old, but it feels like generations ago! Time has changed so much in 20 years...

  • When i was little my life goal was to life in a bin like topcat with one of those phones and a DO NOT DISTURB sign

    :D ^^ how times change

  • @Lehnerd57 Yeah, I did not not remember the sponsor on the back of the cab and the billboard at the end from it's ABC Wednesday night run in 1961-62. But, I would swear that (defunct) Ipana toothpaste also was a sponsor because I have always related it to the toothbrush sequence (so ..discretely entered) in the closing credits.

  • God! I still Miss Arnie Stang! (Crying) Goodbye Arnie!

  • i used to watch top cat when i was around 8 years old. at that time it was one of my my favorite shows.now i am 17 and surprisingly now i like it better than i used to. i love the voice acting too bad it was cancelled after only 30 episodes.

  • This is the best cartoon ever! I love the music from it =). BTW, it shows Channel boomerang. I have it =D

  • Lyrics please¡¡¡

  • funny i dont remember the intro that well but the outro with the credits bring back sooo many memories

  • Top Cat's a PIMP!

  • Top Cat WAS a pimp

  • 0:20 did they just say "He's a pimp"?

I didn't know that term was in use in the 60's.

  • he's a VIP

  • Pip Not pimp

  • R.I.P. Arnold Stang. You will be deeply missed

The announcement of his death suddenly made me remember how much I loved this show. I couldn't imagine TC with any voice other than Arnold's.

  • Ive never noticed that!!! LOL

    shame on you hanna-barbera

  • Thanks for that, DON GATO RULES!

  • the most awesome cartoon;)

  • HANNA BARBERA make good cartoons

  • I love Top Cat!

  • TAGALOG:

    Editing ni

    RICARDO JOSE

    Taken from DWKX-TV.

  • I love Top Cat, he was the ultimate hustler. One of the 20 best cartoons of all time in my opinion.

  • wow ! it was my favourite !

  • with only 30 episodes one of the best cartoons!!!!

  • I agree. I always looked fwd to this cartoon being on. And it was seldom aired in my neck of the woods.

  • top cat is awesome

  • thats sic how the light goes dim to bright

  • The Light dims in and out because there's a big bilboard at the top of the building which you never see. There's a clip on the DVD which SHOWS the billboard (Kelloggs) flashing and then they Pan Down to the trash can. The billboard is never seen anymore ... but the flash remains

  • oh god i have been looking for this everywhere!! i havnt seen it in ages, but couldnt remember what it was called,,

    thanks deyanmegara :)

    less than 3 topcat~!

    <3

  • OLDER THAN THAT... Hoyt Curtin wrote that music in 1961. He was a jazz man at heart and he really made 'em swing.

  • TC is smooooooooth :)

  • He is Hustla xd

  • Not that I don't like the beginning, cuz I love it, but I prefure The ending part.

    DO NOTDISTURB!

  • Big fan of the TC !!!!

  • I feel like a kid again :)

  • I always hated this coz it meant the end :(

Stupid Cartoon network putting on all this new crap, stick to the classics!!

  • this is the better intro and ending that I have found...is almost the original version! with the white star at the final is the complete version!

  • Oooh, I hate the way he doesn't brush his teeth properly. He only does the front and the left.

  • Look at the end credits! We see how TC is setting his alarm clock, but puts his caps on his ears! How can TC hear his alarm clock?

  • lol have you heard one of them loud ass clocks? he would hear it easily

  • yes hes a chief, hes a king,

    but above everything,

    hes the most tip top,

    top cat!!!!!

  • It's not dead, but just absorbed into Cartoon Network (Time Warner).

Although, the last cartoon that featured H-B characters ended earlier this year :-(

  • to sad that today you cant see these cartoons those it was cool:*:*

  • Top Cat......top quality!

  • I love how sly, cool, and awesome Top Cat is, (I even wish I could be that slick around people).

He's defiantly one of the best ones by HB.

I admire him at the end credits cause he acts even cooler.

    GO TOP CAT!

  • The muisic sounds sped up. Top cat came out in 1962 probably.

  • The speed-up is again because of PAL transfering... Though the opening and ending were interlaced in some places.

  • @britfrenir This is taken from a PAL source so I'm sure that's the reason why.

  • What year was Top Cat originally?

  • I totally agree with you about how the music kicks ass :-) The music director for Hannah - Barbera during this period was Hoyt Curtain. Among the cartoon themes he was responsible for was Top Cat, The Jetsons (greatest cartoon theme EVER!!!) and Josie and the Pussycats

  • Yeah, H-B had some great music for their shows, even through the 70s.

  • You know what would be funny.

    (if you ever have)

Listen to an NSYNC song or something like that, and Imagine if T.C. was singing with the gang instead.

I couldn't stop to ROTFL when I think about that.

(sorry to ruin the moment though)

  • con madre me acuerdo de don Gato TOP CAT

  • I miss Hanna-Barbara...T_T

  • I doubt these are THE original dedicated credits!

  • T.C. was way before his time, based on Sgt Bilko and the Phil Silvers persona, Top Cat was definately cooler than cool.

  • i do too! D: and cow and chicken! xD

  • Thanks America...Even us limeys call the police the "Dibble" thanks to Top Cat.

  • Always liked that bin he slept in looks really comfy the way he does it.

  • I was watching that all a day

  • Good cartoon.

  • It's so sad that William Hanna and Joseph Barbera are no longer with us... Without them cartoons will never be the same...

  • Well they both lived into their '90's. If you really want to enjoy their best work, check out the "Tom & Jerry" animations from 1940 until 1953. Also getting honorable mention is Iwao Takamoto the illustrator and director for HB Studios. Google him and check out his contributions.

  • @Greenleafff Yes, you are correct, For that first brilliant decade (1957-67) they gave us characters that are and will be part of the American way to end of this century. But, after that Space Ghost(and the other "wierdo super heros TV Guide once blasted) "The New Adventures of Huckleberry FInn" NBC 68-69 and the "Banana Splits" showed how much they lost their magic after 1966 (when the "Flintstones"ended)

  • @Greenleafff I second that. Hanna and Barbera were the you-know-what.

  • One of the best cartoons of my childhood!

  • Top Cat: Well if it isn't Officer Dribble! lol

  • "You bad, bad cat! From now on you can sleep in the garage!"

  • Top Cat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
