  • 30 people dislike the Phrygian scale.

  • Comment removed

  • why does this have so many dislikes? it was great.

  • i'm gonna be "that guy" but that's not phrygian, it's the 5th mode of harmonic minor, whatever you call that. phrygian plus 3 or something? i dunno. but ya im just getting into sleep terror, i hate stuff like this, but i love sleep terror, if that makes sense

  • @Boprobe Phrygian dominant mayhaps? That's what most people usually mean when they just say "phrygian" though it's definitely not entirely accurate.

  • @Steve128967 lol ya i guess most metalheads mean this scale when they say phrygian. i am suddenly struck with how little the name of the scale matters though, as long as whatever idea is communicated effectively musically.

  • @Boprobe>> agree'd!!! its un-necessary 2 play music at mach 10.... unless your BODOM, JOE SAT R MALMSTEEN 2 name a couple

  • i see a shecter hellraiser c1 ?

    with vlack finish ?

  • boring

  • meh

  • Anyone that can hold an 8 string schecter without getting a dead leg deserves a thumbs up.

  • that is f**king badass.

  • Fuck, I played the C7 hellraiser in a guitarstore a month ago. I then returned 3 times just to play it again. Now I see it's beauty in every single youtube guitar vid. Gotta start saving...

  • @DistortedBrain the Jeff Loomis signature version is super nice too, especially if you like Floyds.

  • Is that a Schecter Hellraiser? I'm somewhat considering the C-7.

  • Is that a shecter 8 string.....that guitar is beautiful

  • Amazing playing

  • @chemik1 , Your right but personaly, I wanted a low b-flat to dip to for a piece I worked on. That is the reason I switched from a 7 string to an eight string guitar. With a longer scale or thicker string it becomes tighter. I needed more range for the desired notes without compromise of the usefulness of the rest of the guitar given my tuning and playing style.

  • This guy under rated enough?

  • @Toadoe7 many dudes can shred like this. but i like him too

  • wow yal are retarded 8 ftw Djent

  • ...or just try what I am going to...

If you like to shred on high notes, take an extra bass string and an extra treble string!

    or 2 trebles!!!

    Be creative!! =)

  • can't really take an extra treble string since when you go that high they get so thin they'd break really easily.

The original 7 string guitar was an extra treble but they couldn't maintain the higher string due to guess what breakages. so they went lower.

  • why is this guy getting marked down?

he speaks the truth, musicians need to realise this shit sooner rather than later.

  • shredtastic

  • Looks like a Schecter, right?

  • new cd?? or where i can get luke`s stuff

  • I have the same axe. Well, mine is short by two strings to this one. The are beast guitars. Nice picking, apb

  • 8 strings!

  • check out their xmas song. its in my videos and its fucking amazing.

  • holy fuck.

  • i only know luke from playing a couple shows with ASP cause i cant find any of sleep terrors music :(

  • google it! I downloaded their cd searching in google

  • schecter hellraiser^^!

  • it would sound better with another amp

  • of course

  • Is an 8 string guitar really needed?

  • an 8 string guitar isnt really necesary

  • listen to meshuggah they really have an unique sound with their 8 string guitars

  • yeah but their 8th is after the highe E i think, and on his its after the low E

  • no these guitars are actually the same the two extra string come after the low e so the rest is in standard tuning thats why they can play those low high riffs easily. but like i said meshuggah knows how to handle 8 string guitars their not just there to play scales up and down

  • dude im fucking sure Luke does too, just cause he does a little shred doesnt mean thats all he does. Sleep terror has some fucking crazy shit. i would love to see him play on a 8 string and actually PLAY. and not just run scales and what not.

and most people tune there 8 strings like this F# BEADGBE

  • jep standard 8 string tuning xD

  • 8 string guitar is completely necessary, if you dont use it just for a extra chug. theres so much more Versatility and alot more options with scales and what not. plus its how creative you are with it and it depends on what you play. ive seen jazz guitarists use 8 string guitars.

  • nope, there retarted. 7 strings are okay but 8 is gay

  • thank you!!! so true

  • the lowest string dosnt even sound good anyways.

  • @DethDaeNossi thats the same with 6 string players they think we "sevens" are gay. its just an extended range instrument, listen to Animals As Leaders pure beauty, 8 strings are not only for metal, but manny fags only use them for "djent" =/ thats why "eights" are getting "gay"

  • @SHREDDER222X if a certain type of music is the only reason a particular instrument is getting gay, you listen to music for all the wrong reasons and need to get your priorities straight.

  • @aPOTg thats exactly what i tried to say!!! but also i mean that many use them for "chug" strings just a waste of strings

  • @SHREDDER222X You do realise that AAL falls under the Djent category, right?

  • @TheSpasticDragon Yes i know, but they expand their musicality not for chugging you've got beauty clean passages and songs, not only "chugg"

  • @SHREDDER222X Chugging =\= djent.

Also you are probably looking past most of the good djent bands. There are too many tryhard ones who claim to be djent and/or lack the musicality, but us elitists disregard them when refering to the genre and only speak of the respectable and real djent bands/musicians.

  • @TheSpasticDragon really??? ohh well my bad, anyway, could you give some bands?, so i check 'em up and clarify my point of view

  • @SHREDDER222X Chimp Spanner, Akeldama, Circles, Cloudkicker, Periphery, TesseracT and Sky Sanctuary are a few of my favourites.

If you like AAL, you'd probably like Chimp Spanner the most out of that list. But in all honesty, that's just a few of the decent djent bands out there. Unfortunately the good ones get lost amongst the copious amounts of bad ones.

  • @TheSpasticDragon Well i'll take a view to those bands, and yeahh copycats ruin the music

  • Sounds like Dream Theater "In the Name of God"

  • SLEEP TERROR FUCKING RAPES!

  • Hell yeah, Sleep Terror!

  • luke knows his shit.

  • sounds like jibberish

  • awesome guitar playing! xD

  • Mm ja that vas a tasty lick ja?

  • cool sounding cuitar

  • uhh....lol cool..i guess? lol
