@g00seman25n Hehe,., watch Billy Gibbons' Rig Rundown vid on here. He doesn't use mids or treble... just bass dialed in, so I guess that's one way to accomplish it!
Then again, he's the only guitarist in his band, so he doesn't have that need to cut through a bit more.
@Aaronmiles2 Probably not Ernie Ball strings are fairly cheap compared to most, I dont know what they cost but I will say in the $8 a pack range, there is no mention of them being coated so putting them in the price range of something like an Elixir string people would probably go for the coated, although IMHO coated strings suck big time once that coating starts to wear off. Be hard pressed to get me to stop using my regular slinkys!
@Aaronmiles2 Nahh, I checked Musician's Friend, and the Cobalt series strings are only five bucks more than the standard series (ex. Regular Slinky goes from $5 to $10), ten more if you're looking at bass (ex. Hybrid Slinky Bass goes from $20 to $30).
Check The spectrum of our strings buy EB. You all guys can see how much treble is it :)

Slash needs to ask Joe Bonamassa or Billy Gibbons how to get a decent fat Les Paul tone. This sounds way too brittle.

@SirZozzo hes playing through his live rig, its usually way louder so what your hearing isnt what he had in mind when he dialed in the tone.

@SirZozzo
Just a matter of different picks, amp setups, hitting style and setting up a guitar properly. Go ahead and try them before you judge.
