  • It seems like LSV is always playing too much land. I know that 18 lands is the common thing to do....but...dude...you always have too much land. You should have dropped a swamp and put one of your feasts in.

  • Not drawing Hideous end or either of the gatekeepers in THREE games? That's just bad luck.

  • So with 5 black sources in play, enough make his blocker a 7/7 and kill the Gorger and survive, he instead decides to play a second creature and try to trade 2 creatures for it. Really?

  • at least lsv is human and even loses some drafts ;)

  • Bah go watch his other zen drafts where he has 18 lands (he wins like all of them with decks which have lower curves then this one). He didn't draw a single gatekeeper or hideous end in ANY of the three games (very unlucky as one removal spell would have probably won him either first or third game). I find zen fun and it requires a good sense of what to pick, what colours to play etc

  • I like how he posts 'bad' drafts, you can see what works and what doesn't, so 18 lands without landfall dudes doesn't work very well, mind sludge is nice but he lost both games he mind sludged, this format is 2 fast.

  • I agree that there are too many lands in this deck. Along with Khalni Gem that's too much. I would've picked that Survivalist in pack 2 to go with the Harrow, instead of splashing last minute for red. I guess you didn't see much removal though, no Gatekeepers or End, but Casualties won you a game. That Nissa was rough, man.

  • he's flooded because he is playing too much lands for such a low curve.

    its kinda absurd

  • 18 lands with no Geopede? Idonotlike.

  • Man, getting cut in the third pack, not drawing any removal, mana flood...

To be fair, the deck was borderline anyway. Floods happen and if you fall behind in Zendikar you have already lost.

  • two for oned by shieldmates blessing..ouch

  • agree with the land count comments - if my curve is normal with lots of 2-4 drops i run 17 lands in ZZZ unless i have lots of landfall or big spells.

ive also noticed that even when i can get in black solidly, someone is bound to open a nighthawk or witch or sorin.. black is just too deep to think that just because im getting passed playables that there are not 3 other drafters dipping..therefore i look to take red or whatever secondary color looks open over the more mediocre black cards.

  • That was a real bad flood, but in retrospect mind slugde seems like the right play there.

  • his opponents name was superdank

  • I'm thankful my store has closed down drafting. I think Zen/Zen/Zen is a really bad format - too fast, too little card advantage. Also, I don't think 18 land is necessary unless you have a huge kicker spell like rite of replication, or a ton of landfall guys...

  • man he was really unlucky all 3 rounds.

he got mana flood pretty bad.

  • 2 gatekeepers and whiffs all three games. C'est la vie

  • Why can't LSV have nice stuff? =(

  • On that last attack, why not just block with crypt and pump? You had enough to make him a 6/6 and block the worm.

  • tbh i'm happy to see lsv have a crappy draft and first round loss. if he only posted drafts where he's passed bomb after bomb, you'll never get a realistic picture of what drafting is.

  • I meant it as a joke.....if you couldn't tell by the last sentence and the smiley face.

  • "Luis Scott-Vargas ***shares his thoughts*** while playing game three of the first round of Channel LSV: Zendikar Draft #10."

  • myself is one word
