I didn't so much mind the idea of having singles matches at Survivor Series.For example,Hulk Hogan vs.the Undertaker in '91 for the WWE title,but the '92 one only featured one "traditional" match and it was in the middle of the card between The Nasty Boys\Natural Disasters vs.Money Inc.\Beverly Brothers.
@landrykkb And not only that, but Nastys/Disasters vs. Money/Beverlys was under the tag elimination rules that was used in '87 and '88: if your partner is eliminated, then you're eliminated as well. I think the recently turned face Nasty Boys ended up winning the match.
@landrykkb Now that I think about it...I don't think I ever got issue of WWF Magazine in the mail, lol, the one with the Series results. I subscribed to it for 2 years and I believe that one was lost somewhere...oh well. :)

You had a Mid card SS match, Women's SS match, Tag-Team SS match, and a Main event SS match and that's ALL you needed. Remember when Survivor Series was on Thanksgiving night? Remember the 'Grand Finale' match in 1990 where all the survivors from each side came back at the end to face each other? Remember the debut of the UNDERTAKER?
I think Survivor Series should ALWAYS be team elimination matches; you can ALWAYS have a title match on RAW or Smackdown or the other PPVs.
And perhaps...there should be a new event called Rage in the Cage or Hell in a Cell where ALL the matches are in the cage or cell...and if you don't want to do that, then do it for SummerSlam, and make that the new tradition :)

Warrior runs after Quake and gets CO. Hulk/Savage fight for a *long* time and Hogan pins Savage. Perfect and Hulk in the ring, but Savage interferes, allowing Perfect to roll up Hogan for the pin. Hogan beatdown, but Hogan gets rid of both of them and poses for the audience. :)

Seriously pissed off there changing the name of the event, the event has so much history, taker's debut, Montreal screwjob, Austin dropping Triple H from the forklift and that brillant winner take all SS match in 2001 but yet again the WWE is abandoning its traditions and sticking two fingers up to nostalgic fans. The reason SS hasn't sold so well is coz the WWe have no put the effort into make it the show it should be over the last five years. Too many shit PPV's killing the market!!!
Survivor Series cant be replaced. WWE took alot of what the survivor series was. Tag Teams, Top face and Top heels. and the belts meant something too back then, not just the wwf title.
Honestly I agree... Though It would kinda fill the void left from loosing the Survivor Series if a War Games Pay Per View was brought back...But looking back on WWE's recent history it'd probably be some bastardized version of it, and even then isn't that what the elimination chamber is?
One can only hope. If anything could replace Survivor Series it would be The War Games. I started really watching wrestling around the 92 Survivor Series, so all in all I'm kinda, and always will be partial to this event. I know the event had lost a lot of its original purpose over the years. It's still sad to see it go

I liked Survivor Series of 87 since it was at the Richfield Coliseum and I watched it on PPV. I went to Richfield all the time to watch the Cavs play and watch WWF and tractor pulling.
Great memories of a great era gone by...best Series IMO were '88 and '90. '88 for the 10 man/5 teams on each side match and '90 for the addition of the grand finale match, as well as the first appearence of the Undertaker.
The only thing really wrong with it was the Gooker. Also not really bad, but I thought the interview with Savage was a waste too. They didn't need both of those segments to kill time, especially with the final survival match being rushed as it was. But I guess they needed them both because everybody was blown up after their first matches.
I remember running home from school on a half day on Thanksgiving eve, calling up my sisters to come over that night to watch Survivor Series. Thinking about those days and listening to this song almost makes me all teary eyed.

The 1990 and 1987 were my all time favorites. I remember them clearly as a child. In 87 Hogan didn't win the main event which at the time was sor of shocking. In 1990 Bret Hart and Ted Dibiase had a nice technical wrestling match at the end of that match. Warrior, Kevin Von Erich and Raod Warriors had the greatest Survivor Series team ever. Tito Santan finally got to win a PPV match for the first time since Wrestlemania 1 and the grand finally you had Hogan and Warrior winning as a dream team.
Imagine Survivor Series 1989 with a grand finale match as in 1990, that would have been Hulk Hogan/Ultimate Warrior/Dusty Rhodes/Brutus Beefcake vs Randy Savage/Dino Bravo/Earthquake/Mr Perfect

Seriously pissed off there changing the name of the event, the event has so much history, taker's debut, Montreal screwjob, Austin dropping Triple H from the forklift and that brillant winner take all SS match in 2001 but yet again the WWE is abandoning its traditions and sticking two fingers up to nostalgic fans. The reason SS hasn't sold so well is coz the WWe have no put the effort into make it the show it should be over the last five years. Too many shit PPV's killing the market!!!

This was truly a special pay per view back in the day where it was that the main concept of the Survivor Series still existed, the classic 4 on 4.
WWE has truly gone off the hill now that they got rid of the Thanksgiving Classic.
Whats next? Royal Rumble? Summerslam? the way its goin right now these legendary ppv's will be out the window.

One can only hope. If anything could replace Survivor Series it would be The War Games. I started really watching wrestling around the 92 Survivor Series, so all in all I'm kinda, and always will be partial to this event. I know the event had lost a lot of its original purpose over the years. It's still sad to see it go

I liked Survivor Series of 87 since it was at the Richfield Coliseum and I watched it on PPV. I went to Richfield all the time to watch the Cavs play and watch WWF and tractor pulling.

Great memories of a great era gone by...best Series IMO were '88 and '90. '88 for the 10 man/5 teams on each side match and '90 for the addition of the grand finale match, as well as the first appearence of the Undertaker.

The only thing really wrong with it was the Gooker. Also not really bad, but I thought the interview with Savage was a waste too. They didn't need both of those segments to kill time, especially with the final survival match being rushed as it was. But I guess they needed them both because everybody was blown up after their first matches.

The 1990 and 1987 were my all time favorites. I remember them clearly as a child. In 87 Hogan didn't win the main event which at the time was sor of shocking. In 1990 Bret Hart and Ted Dibiase had a nice technical wrestling match at the end of that match. Warrior, Kevin Von Erich and Raod Warriors had the greatest Survivor Series team ever. Tito Santan finally got to win a PPV match for the first time since Wrestlemania 1 and the grand finally you had Hogan and Warrior winning as a dream team.
