I have the MM9. It is a very well built open coil antenna. Maybe a little to well built, as it's a very heavy antenna. The performance is on par with a 102". The receive is great. It requires a very VERY strong/sturdy mount. I'm debating on making a heavy duty mount or just getting a different antenna. I need an antenna I can take off quick and throw in the cab of my truck due to my garage and this thing takes up too much room in the cab. Bought it from Right Channels, great guys!

Monkey Made antennas are just toys... I melted the one I had like it was made of wax.... what a JOKE. I have had almost all of the "storebought" antennas and they are all lame junk... BUY A STAR GUN !! I run a Skywalker 6 driving 16 with a Star Gun..... anything else is a MUD DUCK.

I have has excellent results with a Predator 10-K with 12" shaft on a Tram Tri-Mag Mount. Pretty much equals a 102" stainless steel whip for performance. It is to my understanding the Monkey Made antenna coil design does not stand up well. Various issues in time, 73's. Bulldog - Unit 777 over here in central Maine.

I Have a quad mag mount for amateur hf antennas - this type of mount would be something that woiuld be good for this antenna as well.
