  • He's so grateful, it's really inspiring. Along with his amazing health and dedication as well :)

  • Does the organist start playing to remind him to get back on topic? :P

  • I love the product placement!

  • Lmao, refridgerater... what an invension, veery proud of it

  • @CanadianRandom It beats an icebox.

  • @DiceEsque oh god ya

  • Observe he thanks the man who invented the refrigerator. That's what a rational man does, never takes anything for granted!

  • jack lalane so awesome. i'm amazed he has been talking about this back then

  • @aishahkearns79 he saw it coming: obesity, drug addictions, sadness, fatigue. Best listen to him.

  • this was really awesome..

  • nice simple set no music he is great! i hate the over produced tv shows they have now

  • Jack Lalanne > Chuck Norris

  • He's so inspiring :) Thanks for posting.

  • Amen, Jack and RIP! All that bread and butter surely is messing us up...the bread for sure...trashy carbs and not moving around gets us in trouble and Jack knew it way back in the old days of tv...I balk though at the cottage cheese AND the fish...why 2 proteins? But, hey, he's a guy and may need more...the salmon I definitely like!

  • Watching Jack as im loosing weight myself keeps me inspired to keep going.

One thing to note however is your drinks. I had a good diet but it was my coffee that was piling on weight. I thought the coffees I drank had 50 calories in them, according to what my Doctor said was in two heaped tea spoons. When I actually measured it, it was just over a 100! That was 400 to 600 extra calories a day. Since I put that sugar out the weights been doing down steadily.

  • Yeah, Jack L. and Bruce Lee were ahead the game in terms of diet and exercise regimens. Jack's advice in this video still works perfectly today. Too bad healthy eating causes a turnoff to most eaters.

  • i love how he calls us "students"

  • If everyone listened to Jack LaLanne, we would all live a much healthier lifestyle. It's amazing how invested he was in improving the lives of others. Look at this video of him at 94 years old! bit. ly/diGOR2

  • I was, what now would be termed, Jack's personal assistant from 1961-64. He was as great man, & a marvelous mentor as well. I learned much about nutrition & healthy lifestyle from Mr. Lalanne. I am now 80, & still following his method of diet & exercise. I also juice, which he taught us was the only way to extract 100% of the nutrients & vitamins from fruits & vegetables. He lived nearly a century, so he couldn't have been wrong. His farts smelled really bad, though. That's the only thing.

  • Thank you Swaldo!!!

  • What a great show. I watch these video clips just for the entertainment. It has a nostalgic and a vintage quality.

  • was this in the 1940s

  • Interesting how he constantly encouraged the viewers to eat fresh and minimally processed foods. Keep in mind, he was going against the flow of society. TV Dinners and processed canned foods were the craze of convenience foods back then and he really tried to turn it all around. Jack's ideals and advice have been the core of healthy dieting for over 50 years! Can't get away from the truth!

  • yes this guy is a real inspiration to every one, but actually there is a man that started all these healthy way of life before mr lalanne , his name was charles atlas

  • genius!!!

  • Don't eat bread and butter to excess students!!

  • Hotpoint refrigerator yeah!!!!!!!!!! lol

  • Now who says Dr. Atkins came up with the idea?

  • lol 1:09 music = right on cue

  • I love how he endorses hotpoint. LOL!

  • I love how he leans over and says "SALMON, AND COTTAGE CHEESE" like it's an order lol.

  • @mygoatisdead Oh..It was/is an order. lol

  • hahahah HOTPOINT!

  • Damn this meal is how Arnold won 7 Mr. Olympias.

  • na, that was steroids

  • He needed more fat, all that nonfat 'shite' es no bueno.

  • hahaha shameless hotpoint plug from like 1958!!! hahahaha

  • This man was wise beyound his years. The result of his advice is that he had a long, healthy life.

  • exactly.

  • Listen carefully:

    He's advertising Hotpoint.

  • You're playing, he stated his appreciation of the men who made it, not referring to himself.

  • serve this with a slice of wholewheat bread or wholewheat pasta dressed in olive oil n u'll feel full till dinner

  • so fast 2 prepare? cooking & all that slicing of the vegetables takes time. that ain't fast

  • people back then had more time than the average american today. 20-25 minutes to make your lunch isn't a big deal for people back then.

  • oh yeah it takes forever to cut a tomato up. get real man. this is why americans are so overweight, people are too lazy to eat right. probably easier for you to go to taco bell.

  • how old are u? trust me, when you it you're 40's this crap will catch up with u!!!

  • well jack eats right and he is in better shape!

  • not 2 hate on him but he looks like an 80 yr old man which is good cuz he's 91 but i look better than an 80 yr old man.

  • not to hate on you, but when jack was in his 40's he did 1033 pushups in 23 minutes and swam from alcatraz to fishermans wharf handcuffed. but your right you are probably in better shape even though you eat fastfood and don't workout.

  • no i do workout.....im just not a bodybuilder like mr. lalanne....so i don't train as hard as he does..& i meant i look better than him since im 24 & he's like what 91so my skin looks smoother lol

  • but you use 420...apparently...i doubt jack included this in his routine.

  • Of course you look better than an 80 year old man on the outside..you're 24. I don't really understand your point in trying to compare how you look at your age to a man who is in his 90's?

  • it's cuz biscogeddis is saying that jack is in better shape...so i was like in better shape than me? i don't think so, im not even close 2 half his age, & he's saying that he's in better shape than me, like he knows what i look like.

  • " so..i was like " < pure shakespearian

  • This idiot doesn't realize that Jack is in way better shape than he is in terms of age. I'll bet when this guy turns 90 he'll barely be able to walk and a million times much less pop a boner.

  • You can look okay from the outside without being healthy on the inside. Eventually it will catch up with you. You could still look and feel better if you cut out the junk - you aren't achieving your potential.

  • You may be in great shape, but you may not be healthy inside. Do not judge a book by its cover. What's the use of a nice-looking body if it's all crappy inside? I advice you to listen to Jack.

  • you may be fit but I highly doubt that you're healthy!

  • this must have been before tuna was full of mercury.

  • Jack is my new inspiration. :)

  • What type of salmon is that? Can it be canned salmon? Do you cook it?

  • they're high on the healthy fats, which you can't do without. Low fat can mean low health.

  • yea it is high in fat. but the good type of fats. its high in mono and polo.

  • I wonder if Jack ever put on a disguise and snuck into a Macdonalds !!!!!!

  • I bet jack disguised himself and raided a mcdonalds and forced them serve up healthier portions. LOL seriously. Mcdonalds was way healthier back then. The small we have today was their standard back then. they didn't have supersize, large, or whatever. A cheeseburger, small fries, and a small shake isn't shabby for fast food.

  • Haha. I thought it was funny when he was talking about the

fridge. But this guy is a genious. Perfect lunch menu. :]

  • This guy really talks sense!!We need someone like him these days too before we end up total slackers

  • That's exactly what I was thinking. He's really motivational and like you said talks sense.

  • i also dont agree with the low fat approach he preaches, but other than that, hes basically dead on. years and years ahead of his time.

  • this guy is awesome lol

  • The only thing I don't agree with is his super-low-fat approach. Other than that, he's brilliant. :)

  • Celery! One of my very favorites. AND cottage cheese - good for what ails you.

  • Celery gives me acidity. So how good is it for me?

  • So because there's a negative, there can't be a positive?

  • THANK YOU FOR INVENTING THE FRIDGE!!

  • yup had to advertise lol its cool tho still this guy knows what he's talking about

  • Thank you Swaldo2000!!!

  • I really missed seeing this man! Thank you for the clips, swaldo!

  • 40 years ahead of his time. no one was talking about this back then.

  • So see even back then people needed to lose weight ..

  • The Hotpoint comment made me laugh. He is so right about eating fresh healthy food. I live in France and he does seem to suggest a diet very similar to the way the French eat. Although they do eat lots of white bread, daily baguettes etc.

I am really loving these clips, Thanks Swaldo.

  • Glad you like them. Try to pick up his old book "For men only." It has alot of his philosophies on life and health which aren't mentioned in these videos. The book is great for women as well.

  • @swaldo2000 Is there any place in particular I can pick up the book? I've looked around a bit and have had no luck. The only copy I found was being sold for $112! I wanna read the book bad and really come to know the guy's perception on life and health but I don't feel willing to shell out a $100+.

  • @SonofThor89 There's a signed copy being sold right now on ebay for $13. Ends in 1 day so move fast.

  • Back then product placement was pretty agressive and they put ads right in the program.

On Hispanic television they still have in-program ads during variety shows.

  • @needtogetoutmore I'm pretty sure the French eat lots of cream, butter, oil and tons of unhealthy shit.

  • @MrVoiceofreason123 Yes, but they eat it in moderation. They don't eat crap every day, they eat lots of fresh natural unprocessed food, and they are very active.

  • @needtogetoutmore The Hotpoint comment made me smile too. I love how he would just stop and be greatful for things. That's just awesome. How many of us would just randomly be thankful for our refrigerator?

  • @needtogetoutmore The Hotpoint comment made me smile too. I love how he would just stop and be grateful for things. That's just awesome. How many of us would just randomly be thankful for our refrigerator?

  • @needtogetoutmore back then he gave advice that people would have been more open to. i dont think he was really eating a lot of this stuff

  • Jack's parents are French, but he was born and raised in California.

  • Indeed he is French!

  • Heh, the Hotpoint fridge moment really was some nice product placement. Still, a fridge is pretty necessary to keep good foods on hand, unless you're one of the few people who can go shopping everyday.

  • He is right! Stop eating garbage and eat right and you will feel MUCH better! hey Swaldo, thanks for posting these cool videos! God Bless!
