  • watch the BJORN identity trailer with tennis player bjorn borg its great

  • ...i never knew the matt damon movie was a remake...

  • Much better than Mat Bourne movie, mostly because I heve readed book before Damon movie.

  • @hwdp89 readed?

  • i thought wambosi was black

  • Woah... Wambosi looks different

  • what is this? where am i?

  • 07:03 - "It's Kayser Söze! It's Kayser Söze!"

  • I prefer the 2002 film version & trilogy.The 1988 film looks dated and slow. (probably why isn't remember-able.)

  • WTF is up with this Coffee and Tea with Willie McGee b.s. The Matt Damon Jason Bourne would destroy these guys in 10 seconds.

  • @xploitasian World Trade Federation (WTF)

recommends you watch Hong Kong Kung Fooey. Lots of action and no story. Destroy any independent thought you may have in 10 seconds, or less.

  • fucking stupid movie

  • The doctor is Marcus Brody

  • @ddd62291 Denholm Elliot by real name but nice reference to Indiana Jones

  • IMHO, this was by far a better film than the shallow remake with Matt Damon. First of all, the casting in the original film was credible unlike the pair chosen for the remake who gave the impression that they were students backpacking around Europe. The original film had character development; I particularly liked Denholm Elliott's struck-off doctor. Finally, the original had depth to the storyline, something sadly lacking in the remake. As close to the book as you could get. jj

  • They're making another "Bourne" movie with Jeremy Renner or James Franco. But the movie is rumored to not even be about Bourne.

  • Too bad they didn't do the remake more like this. I love this one, it's closer to the plot in the book.

  • There is a very good reason why this Bourne and the 2002 Bourne are different.

It is because of a sub-plot that was dropped for the remake.

Now, do any of you know what that sub-plot is? If not, go read the book.

  • @dkerris go read the book? man, i did, the book was awesome... movie from 2002 was also awesome. but honestly, dont talk about sub-plots, because the book and the movie are total difference. the only thing in commn is the title. no carlos, jason is not the trap for him, no original meaning of treadstone, totally different characters, even the main ones like marie, so, i really dont know what sub-plot are you talking about...

  • @RokeeMeister Those were them. Most people never bothered to read the books, so they know nothing about where this story came from.

Congrats for taking the time to read. And for remembering.

  • @dkerris yeah well, too bad these kids learn about books only by movie remakes, which is, quite frankly, innacurate... thank god robert died year before 2002 movie was out, because he would be pissed if he saw what they made with his book... im a huge ludlum fan, ive read all his books, so, it takes a lot more to satisfy me than putting matt damon in whole bunch of high intensity action scenes. hell, i think ill download this 1988 version, because, it seems it follows the plot very accurate...

  • i watched this as a really small kid lol, this is classic.

  • Love the bew films so much for how they told their own story in its own way this one is more close to the book the bourne identity any fans of the films should rrad the books they are amazing even the eric van lustbatder books

  • @hotbtch38 2002 and ultimatum came out in 2007

  • I recommend the game "XIII"

  • thats a shallow ocean

  • fucking you lot stop arguing and just watch the bloody film... god.

  • this was THE original bourne movie, some young ones dont understand the graphics are NOT from today, but the story line was terrific and this WAS the original movie, the other ones are REMAKES which means copies, knockoffs..... I love this movie it had just the right mix of suspense and even a touch of romance in it. BrainDDR has NO clue what a good movie was made off even back then

  • Thank you for this early version. Some good scenes and Denholm Elliott (the Dr.) is a solid actor. The scene where Bourne inspects his account at the Gemeinschaft Bank in Zurich is a gem.

  • jjajajjaja. This so wrong. I love it.

  • Thanks for posting!!!!!!!

  • this sucks!!!!

  • u say this shit is bourne identity . go watch it man.it is not bourne identity

  • @saurabh2334 you retard, you know what 1988 means ??

  • u say this shit is bourne identity . go watch it man

  • Why don't you bothe shut the hell up, if your as smart as you say you are then do the smart thing and don't say shit about eachother

  • that's one hell of a large implant chip

  • It appears the best actor is the crab.

  • he survived a headshot. hes a champ

  • So that's what really happened...

  • And that's why i always carry a credit card, So i can remember my name.

  • i want the jason bourne vs clive owen shootout-fight in HD, cant find it anywhere!!!!!

  • This was a cutting-edge thriller back in the day. Even with the plastic-boat-in-bath-tub effects, lol.

  • Matt damon is better

  • and where are the sharks ,for this amount of blood..anyway ?

i have to say Chamberlain is better to play Shakespeare rather then to play agent in action movies....Elliot is good.

  • Thank you for uploading this verson just to love love love the books.....!!And Richard Chamberlain was great in this film..merci!

  • the music is friggin spooky.

  • WTF !!!!!! theres an earlier Bourne???? shitt, was looking for Damon and found this, i wonder if there an earlier Trnsformers??

  • @elchividivi there is

  • @elchividivi LOL!!

  • im reading the book as i watch this and i am surprised at how close the directors got it to the actual novel! it makes me laugh to see bourne get shot and then swim away. and the repeats of him sinking are so funny!

  • I ve watch the english version long time ago and I liked it very much

  • What the hell is this? Where's the 2002 version with Matt Damon?

  • this looks crap

  • 6:44 Doctor looks at microfilm and goes "What the hell?! 'For a good time call 1-555-drty-grl.'"

  • hey this reminds me of some movie =)

  • I always thought the Matt Damon film was the original. Thanks for posting this I will try to get this version

  • Thanks.. I stumbled upon this video but watched it anyway.. looks good..

  • Cool! It's available here in YouTube! :) I heard this one stayed true to the novel so I am definitely watching this!! :)

  • MATT DAMON MAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT DDDDDAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMMMMMMOOOOOONNNNNNNNNNNN!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • @cromwell300 , what is it? do you want to fuck Matt Damon?

  • @luigiperso No it's a scene from Team America and Sarah Silverman is fucking Matt Damon (both r videos on youtube).

  • It might be hard to really like this one if you are only used to the new ones. But i saw this when it came out, and have always liked it. Chamberlains best work after Shogun.

  • #OMG a good movіe to download it vshmone.сom

  • WTF!...anyway he clearly stated that 1988 so its my stupidity i can blame LOLOLOL

  • i wonder how many bourne fans of the new ones know about this?

  • @EyEnOtgAy Supposedly, a little piece of trivia is that they used Richard Chamberlain's picture as the profile of the unknown "asset" agent's profile on the Bourne Ultimatum if you look close enough at the files during one shot of the movie.

  • NOOO...I WANT THE 2002 FILM...pleaseeeee!

  • Shit. This might even be better than Matt Damon's. I think I'll see this film completely.

  • I have added comments on part 7 to show you guys where to find some of the missing scenes between part 7 and part 8.

Thanks for uploading, I enjoyed watching it, even though the sound was very poor on parts 8 - 14.

  • - When I first saw the Bourne film trailers way back when Identity came out (new version) I was not excited. With nothing to watch one day I went ahead and plugged it in and was blown away by Damon's fight scene skills, absolutely couldn't believe it.

It only got better. The man is a fearable Bourne. Particularly BADASS is the fight scene in Tangier, Morocco after the roof chase. Bourne versus the assassin - it was incredibly dirty, efficient, desperate and brutal. The towel-death is gritty.

  • this seems surprisingly good!

  • CAN SOMEONE HELP ME FOR THOSE WHO HAVE WATCHED BOURNE IDENTITY (could be this version or the new one)

I heard that this movie deals with offshore banking fraud. Can someone tell me which clip I could see a scene of offshore banking fraud happening? Or movie time? Thanks!

  • I doubt this is as good as the matt damon ones how can it be

  • Man!!! every movie is a remake of some old movie, Why dont they make some new ones???

  • @simonyaqoob Because if the old one was a big hit, it's easier to make a number 2. Plus, if you really like nr. 1, you want to see nr. 2

  • It's wonfderful. This version is new for me. Thanks for uploading in YouTube. Best regards.

  • oh dear.. Why is almost every movie a remake nowadays...

  • Great movie and great book.

  • OMG! there is an earlier version of the bourne identity! i was also looking for Matt Damon! lol.

  • ew...no one..not any one can replace matt damon as jason bourne!

  • @TheAphroditeAsh Umm...what are you talking about? This version came before Damon. And for that matter, this one is much more faithful to the book.

  • @Gryphonification see the problem is that i've seen the damon version...and though it isnt faithful to the books....i AM forced to compare! and i feel matt is the perfect guy for dis! coz jason bourne has this attitude that only matt brought on screen well...

    that's what i feel though...sorry if that hurt u :)

  • @TheAphroditeAsh Fuck off, Dr. Kildare is perfect for this.

  • @Alceste1977 Well u FUCK OFF!!!!! matt damon is the best!

  • @TheAphroditeAsh Was Matt Damon ever a priest who decided to have sex with a teenage girl? I think not.

  • @Alceste1977 I guess that's why he's the best! And I like Matt Damon as Bourne and u like d other guy...so let's cool it alright?! I don't wanna fight with u over this

  • @TheAphroditeAsh Dude, isn't it obvious that I am being totally sarcastic here? TBH I think the modern version is slightly better.

  • @Alceste1977 Hahaha! I thought u were being srcastic...anyway, I like the modern one better too...as u already know! Have you read the books?

  • @TheAphroditeAsh Yeah. The books are excellent and the older film is closer to the books. I think, though, that they just made the decision that Carlos the Jackal wouldn't be as relevant to the modern audience.

  • @Alceste1977 I guess so...though I still wouldn't mind the concept of the Jackal. But why on earth did they have to kill off his girlfriend? I mean there's not much relevance to it, is there? In the books, Robert Ludlum didn't kill her off...I thought that was totally unnecessary.

  • @TheAphroditeAsh What are about 1988 being before 2002 are you incapable of comprehending? Matt Damon is the replacement, clearly, and you are "ew".

  • @RicoDeLaHoya Read all the comments first before you say anything you idiot! And I think you are "EWWWWWWWWWWW!!" How the hell did u talk to my friend like that?

  • @Aishwarya111493 Right because I have nothing better to do than read every single comment, do you think my life is as boring as yours? And you think I'm "ew" and an "idiot", those are some fantastic insults you must be a scholar to utilize such diverse lexicon; as for your friend, I talked to him like that with relative ease you stupid bitch.

  • I love this version, a much more literal translation of the book than the recent trilogy. The problem with films now is that there's no chance to tell the story. Film-goers expect a set piece every five minutes so you end up with the Matt Damon version, which bears no resemlence to the books apart from an agent called Bourne who lost his memory. Not even a mention of Carlos..

  • I've told many younger friends of mine about this version, but I thought it had a different title. Then some time ago my young friend AJ found it. This brings me back in time. THANKS for uploading this movie.

  • love denholm elliot.

  • i liked the matt damon one better

  • holly! lol

  • I loved the trilogy with matt damon, for other reasons that I enjoy this version. It is a bit oldfashioned but elegantly set. It is just a more literal adaptation of the book: more dialogue, a more intricate plotdevelopment and more information. I don't mind having that. You just have to put it in another setting: different historic background and circumstance, which also commands a different mood, pacing and shooting. Jaclyn Smith always tasteful and Chamberlain has convincing presence

  • This is a classical movie, when the actor playing act, and not the computer "make" the movie !! Matt Dammon present day modern "hero", but Richard Chamberlain indeed ACTOR!!!

  • @MzPrx77

I read your comment five times and I still do not understand what you were trying to state.

  • i think wat hes tryin to say.. is that he enjoys movies that rely on the actor skill to play the part, not movies that are all about special effects to sell tickets and DVDs... think thats wat he means lol and i had to read it a few times just to make sure lol

  • @DoctorWeeTodd ha ha ha,.. I AGREE! I guess better he should have translated it into another language,.LOL

  • @DoctorWeeTodd I think the gentleman was trying to state that this film/mini-series is classic because it contains good solid acting as opposed to good solid CGI, and that Matt Damon may be a decent action hero but Chamberlain is a decent actor.

At least, I think that was what he was trying to say.

  • Comment removed

  • @MzPrx77 don't the bourne supremacy movie didn't use cgi at all?

  • @MzPrx77 oemmgm! lookeögh, kaqulingastrophe!

  • @MarkThompson01 omg? lookie here? laughing catastrophie?

  • @MzPrx77 WTF?

  • haha omg that's bad, even for the 80's

  • This is terrible boring crap. It is amazing what the later revision of Bourne turned out to be. I just wasted a lot of time watching all the 14 parts.

  • I have both versions of The Bourne Identity (this one and the Matt Damon one)! Thanks for the upload!

  • Comment removed

  • I might watch this later. but does anybody know how faithful it is to the book?

  • Oh for god's sake, this is the 1988 original Bourne Identity with Richard Chamberlain.

    *sigh*

  • @maccermacnab

Yes you blind shit. It does say in big bold writing "1988" in the title does it not?

    Meh.

  • If you actually look at who I was replying to (serialkilla94) you might understand where my comment came from. But I doubt you have the intelligence to do so. I advise you just to fuck off back to your parents basement, douchebag.

  • O really smart ass? Don't blame me, blame youtube. And the whole mothers house basment thing is kinda getting old.

    Come up with something original.

  • I'm not blaming you, you fucking retard! If you look at the comments, I was replying to someone who said this is not the Bourne Identity & that it wasn't Matt Damon. My god, you really do have the intelligence of a fucking bullfrog. Stop replying to my comments you waste of life.

  • Listen dipshit, go back and look at your comment. It goes both fucking ways. Next time use the reply function correctly so people can see it was a reply. You wrote it one way, I understood it another. (so did everyone else.)

From a far it looks like your complaining that this is not the movie you where looking for.

    Now... Go fuck yourself.

  • Yes this is the Bourne Identity. Lol. It's an old version. Have you ever read the book?

  • Man oh man no body told me about this. Cause the only bourne movie that I know is the latest one and the Novel thats all... Any way let me check it out..

  • I'd read the books as a kid and then totally forgot about them. Seeing this movie (which truly might seem somewhat boring compared to the action-packed Bourne of the 2000's) I was reminded that this story is basically about a man who was not a cold-blooded killer but pretended to be one just to catch an assasin. In that sense, Matt Damon's Bourne is absolutely inferior. He was just a killing machine that got its cables mixed up.

  • Yeah, it's Denholm Elliott. He played Coleman.

    "Jacuzzi, sir?"

"See, I knew y'all was a bunch of faggots!"

"It's a whirlpool bath, sir; I think you'll enjoy it."

"Hey, if we wanted a jacuzzi when I was growin' one of us had to fart in the tub."

Remember when you could rely on Eddie Murphy to be funny?

  • best version ever. good story, not just action all the time

  • the bourne identity 2002 is like my favorite movie. this one was good but i liked the the 2002 one more

  • thats denholm elliot,,,,,marcus brody

  • the soundtrack does sound quite similar...

  • I never would have guessed they made a classic bourne movie

  • Haha,

i never knew that this film was from 1988. I saw the one with Matt Damon

  • By the way, thanks for posting this. I've been wanting to watch it for quite awhile now and haven't been able to find a copy of it on DVD anywher around where I live.

  • Both films are good, but this one is much closer to the novel than the Damon version. Hell, the Damon film did not even have Carlos the Jackal in it. But I will admit, it's kinda hard to see Richard Chamberlain playing this part after watching Matt Damon do it, even though I felt Chamberlain fit the character more.

  • I was looking for this long time. TY

In fact i prefer this movie.

  • haha no. matt damon FTW.

  • why does no one put up The Bourne Identity (2002)?

    its was a good movie

  • cause that would be taken down.

  • holy fuck!!! hahahaha i didnt know this was a remake lol

  • Except for its ending and some more or less important parts this movie comes closer to the original plot from the novel. Besides I like both movies (this one as well as the modern 21st century version with Matt Damon). Hope that helps...

  • baHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I didn't even know there was an earlier movie. I was looking for Matt Damon!!

     *watches anyway*

  • me too hahahahaha

  • this one is because it has more to do with the cold war. The Matt Damon one really had nothing to do with the book other than that he had amnesia and coiuld kick ass

  • omg this is not what ive been searching for :p ..

i was lookingfor the bourne identity with matt damon ..

  • "Based on the book by Robert Ludlum"

    HELL YEAH!

  • hahahahahahh i never even knew that there was a 1988 version

  • Bummer when you can't recognise quality film making, never mind though.

  • seems to be a well-acted faithful adaptation of a popular thriller to me, rather than a Hollywoodized explosion-fest where special effects are considered more important than character development and dialogue.

  • lol the effects are so bad ...everybody can see that it's in the studio

  • My god this sucks ass compared to the 2002 version.

  • thanks for the upload man...

  • personally i found the original novel to be incredibly boring, where the guy spends about 5 pages describing how scared he is. he and his girlfriend seem to have no character at all whatsoever, and it seems an order of old men want to assassinate him. i could not finish the book.

    just my opinion ;)

  • interesting, i found the novel one of the most exciting, interesting i've ever read; the films had adrenaline the way they were shot, but were pretty 2D if you remove all the camera work; plot was weak, characters weak; just my opinion!

  • This is more like spy life on interaction with people's normal life. The new version of the novel is too much hightech in my opinion, very far from Ludlum vision. That's my humble opinion.

  • this is a very good movie. strong cast. keeps close to the book. well directed. l highly recommend this film,

  • wow

this one follows the book better

    awesome

  • It's good, but I prefer the modern version with Matt Damon. The acting is more exciting and enjoyable to watch. The book is even better though!

  • Everyone has a right to his own opinion,I respect that.

But you must consider that Matt Damon isn't looking like a real action hero, more like a sissy. Think for a moment look close closely and you will see.

That such part as Born ain't standing to Matt Damon.

    All respect....

    Thanks for watching.

  • True, I do agree. However, Every single James Bond looks like a sissy, but they still deliver a teriffic performance.

  • daniel craig looks like a sissy? i'll give your moore, dalton, and brosnan.....but connery and craig are bad ass.

  • Craig looks like a sissy? Craig's portrayal is arguably the closest to Fleming's original/novel conception of Bond: a hardened pro who simply kicks ass & takes names.

  • yeah, id say out of all the actors who portrayed bond, Craig shows a more "gritter" Bond

  • In an interview Fleming once refered to his vision of Bond as being a "blunt instrument". That pretty much says it all; Bond was originally envisioned as a killer for Queen & Country.

Trendyhendy, the '88/mini-series version of "The Bourne Identity" is FAR truer to the Ludlum novel. The '02 version is essentially Matt Damon wasting people w/"Bourne" slapped on the DVD box, IMHO.

  • Well Ill admit that this stays truer, but c'mon, you gotta admit the fighting scenes in the Bourne Identity (2002) are freaking sweat.

  • rhyscashman, I think that I posted this before, but it might have been on a different thread: I like the '02 Identity version for what it is; a pure action thriller. I even bought a copy of the DVD. I just take issue w/it being called "The Bourne Identity" because it barely even follows the novel.

  • more better

    or gooder? haha

  • ???

  • Damon a sissy? You lost credibility on that. Distant, abstract, sure, sissy? Please. But this film at least tries to match the book. The book was so much richer than the Damon films.

  • "isn't looking like a real action hero"

I think that was the idea.

Bourne must look like an average man,

nothing special, you'll not recognise him if you see him again. Man of crowd.

    Thanks for uploading

  • @salmadavid

That's the point. Matt Damon isn't a typical action hero. Jason Bourne is an every day man, who appears anything but intimidating. Until he indents your trachea, and breaks your spine with his forearm.

    A chameleon assassin.

  • I much prefer the Matt Damon version. Can someone post them?

  • I would do, but my internet's too slow to upload it.

  • no..! it's iegal..

  • Someone put up parts 3, 4, and 8 of the Ultimatum. Can't you use two accounts and put up different parts?? ;) Maybe not.

  • Richard Chamberlain turned 75 (as did Shirley Jones!) on March 31, '09. Robert Ludlum (May 25, 1927 March 12, 2001).

What the heck kind of anesthetic is he using during that operation? Acting is good. Music is rather dated.

  • (2) Because I think that novel's part II & III are really stupid and full of improbable ideas and lack of mood from first part. The screenwriter took off only it's best from following parts and put into intrigue from the first one.

  • (1) IMO this adaptation is very close to the novel, so I like it (I saw this first). It was
