For one part on why this brought out is for the reason that everyone in the states are entitle to speak freely, right or wrong. I can't say much about the rest of the country since I'm no familiar with their laws yet.
Another part about this amendment is that people have the right to choose their religion or none, so those claiming that "homosexuality" is morally wrong are speaking in terms of an establishment of the their church with the states.
On the other hand that doesn't mean the church will have to stop their practices, yet that doesn't mean the church laws are above the common laws either.

For example here in the states, the whole struture is base the multiple sub-cultures comming from various races and their traditions, religeious faiths, believes, etc. And what one cultures may do may not be approved by another culture. Yet, we as humans must learn to adopt and respect other cultures foreign from our own.

Legally we (the partner) should be the next of kin. But no, we have to make a statement be it will or Guardianship specifically stating that our partners are the next of kin. You however have the luxury of it being automatically granted through marriage.

Raising a kid by example to me means raising them to have morals. Raising kids to me means giving them the right tools to find out who they are for themselves. Sexuality and orientation have nothing to do with it until they start asking questions. And should they turn out to be heterosexual then ok. Gay/lesbian then ok. Bisexual, then ok.
I would not however "force" my sex life on them. Thats just wrong. However. I don't want kids.

Human is a social creature and most of our reflexes are conditioned rather than inherited. Sex and gender are different for us. Sex is what gene made us. Gender is what we are from inside or what we think about ourself etc. being a woman in middle east is much different from being a woman in US. though both are female genetically there is a big gender difference. There even is a date in the gay community used to celebrate that it was proven to have nothing to do with being mentally ill...

It wouldn't let me finish... This video, as good as it is, is not a good representation of Sociology. It is very one sided in point of view. Not that Sociology is a valid science in my opinion anyways. :p

I enjoyed this video, and I'd like to know the mark you got on this in Sociology. As I understand it (and I quote)"Sociology should be Value-fee. A Sociologists values and personal beliefs about what is good or worthwhile in life and about the way the world ought to be Should not affect his or her social research" That was the point of view of acclaimed Sociologist Max Weber.

one of the pic you had in with the protestors of glbt rights were actually supporters, SJR 7 was a bill to make Indiana have only straight pairings regarded as marriage. (also seems to be worded broadly enough to dissolve common law marriages)

To be honest... i'm surprised this is an issue in modern day society... with all this technology moving us foward, we got "beliefs" (if you can call it that) moving us backward... and i think this is a non issue when compared to war, famine, desease, hunger, poverty, crime... the list goes on and on...
