  • How does it work? WHen was it designed?

  • @TheMaxx111 It works by electric emission on the vacuum tubes.

  • Hi --

I have the same model. Powers up but does not receive. Can you please tell me what the various knobs do, and possibly how you set a button/station? Thank you for the video. Beauty radio.

  • @decadyne Sorry I cannot. That is a friends radio, and it's probably been 1 year since I've seen it

  • WOWWWWWWW Dude thats a Relic....hahaha what a beauty......Dame how I wish to own one yest like it.....

  • I have one just like that, it powers on but no sound, I am going to sell it to make room in my home, how much should I ask for, Thanks

  • Nice - similar to the 1541 Teledial I restored. Grunow was definitely a classy radio company...I can't understand why antique radio buffs don't consider these as great as some others. My 1541 utilized 15 tubes and 3 speakers plus AFC...and sounds great. Great work!

  • i also have the same radio and my knobs are wood.

how much do these go for unrestored? i read that

it was known as the shirley temple as she was a spokesman for the radio.i have a pic with shirley

    standing next to one.

  • I have the same radio.works great the only problem is the wood on the very bottom is coming off.the rest looks great.I was told the knobs should be wood.but they are the same as the ones in the video.

  • That dial is great! I love how it works.

    Super cool looking console, also.

  • Thats nice. I have the 1191 which is the All Wave dial. Looks the same but the Teledial is way easier to operate. The trade off is my 1191 has the optical eye which looks way cool.

  • Chicago was the home of Grunow.

  • Wow. That's cool. I'm watching you video as I type this. Wow. I never heard of this brand. Where was it built?

  • Good-looking and sounding unit. Floor models are great. I have one. Too bad there's not enough room in the house for more.

    Thanks.

  • Just great. Got to have one.
