  • TACTICAL MUTE INCOMING!

  • i would watch but garbage music

  • why does it matter if paint goes on the inside ? by the time you put it back together it will be dry ...am i missing something ?

  • @IFuzionDesignz b/c even tho the paint is dry youve made the hole where the button goes a hair smaller (thickness of the paint) the buttons have little to no wiggle room and the paint would just make the buttons stick.. u can plug em or not up to you but dont say i didnt warn you

  • what kind of sand paper do i use? can i use krylon gloss paint that bonds to plastic instead?what do you mean by 2 light coats,is the shell full of paint within the second coat? please message me happy new year!!

  • Comment removed

  • @DownThenUp fine sandpaper will do and u can use krylon if u want i dont b/c i dont like its results and two light coats as in dont cover thick keep the can movng steadily and the first coat doesnt cover 100% the second or third will

  • does this work as well witha black controller?

  • Take it apart and sandpaper the area that your painting the paint will stick better, if u don't it will flake off even with a clear coat on top. if u mess up use thinner and take it off ( will involve scrubbing ) redo the sandpaper and try again. U can find different collars at your local hobby shop, use oil based, I strongly recommend using an air brush for an even coat.

  • or i could just go to customcontrollerzz and buy a sick custom controller for like 60 or 70 bucks

  • @TDCtricks we all dont live in america

  • @RandomgamingzZ yea but i do so :)

  • @TDCtricks cool story bro

  • @GFreerider FUCK YOU WHOREBAG

  • Just use a marker

  • Good idea with the straws where can u order those from???

Also for anyone looking to do this unless you are experienced I highly recommend that you DONT! Paint the buttons instead go on eBay buy some buttons from there that match the colour you are going to paint the controller shell that way you can totally avoid having sticky buttons

And as for anyone looking to just paint a gamertag or clan tag without doing a clear coat I can say for certain that the paint will rub off after awhile of usi

  • I don't think bright green works for me. That's just me though.

  • can I try on my Steel Series Ikari Laser, sorry I more to PC gamer...the same method right?

  • Gfreerider: How can i paint my whole xbox 360 controller black? Bumpers, joystick and everything black, can u please make a tutorial. I'd apreciate it.

  • muted.

  • @dylanrrulez i actually liked the song but half way through i muted

  • Don't get me wrong I think you did a fantastic job but its just not that creative.

  • this is so rediculously easy its unbelivable .ive already made a chinese dragon controller in the space of 4 hours

  • ok this is alot harder then it looks..... i fucked up my first one

  • Dude THANK YOU! Me and my dad tried to do this, took out the first 6 and couldn't find the seventh, Thanks, We can do it from here.

  • I CANT READ THIS!!!

  • if i only wanna paint my clans name on the side of my controller, can i just make the outlines of the letters and put tape everywhere i dont want to paint, and then pujt that glossies shit, will it feel the same as my normal controler?

  • ok listen you make no sense... if you are unscrewing the remote and opening it then why dont you just take the buttons off... or out instead of using straws. i just painted mine with spray pain bye the way use latex gloves cause its a bitch to get off your hands watch the video on my channel.

  • Is it safe to do this to the analog sticks? And the pad?

  • Damn why doesn't anyone make a video on how to do this with a spray gun? Seriously, you can get a good quality one for around $30-50. Now I guess I'll have to take my chances by buying some random automotive paint since I can't find a video with a suggestion on how to really spray paint. Cans provide low quality results (even the not-so-godly Krylon Fusion).

  • @iTheGeek all you have to do is buy some adhesive promoter spray it on the controller follow the directions on the back of the can. then spray light coats of paint onto the controller then put a clearcoat on after that

  • @ZangCinema you open it with the control board attached to the back, so all the buttons can easily fall out

  • muted

  • @MrGoutetsu thums down u comment lol

  • You also could just take it apart.. Its not hard at all.

  • @ZangCinema omg ur fucking retarded lol

  • @GFreerider how long do u wait for the primer to dry?

  • Thank you, finally someone that shows the correct way to paint a controller!!!!

  • nice

  • use krylon fusion for plastics gloss chrome or black they look good

  • i just took mine apart so much easyer

  • @mastermixsable same here i think he did to but he taped the stickers and holes so paint woundnt get in their

  • i want to do this, but i don't think i can buy primer at my age... lol

  • check out my video, explains why you should buy IntensaFire controller modz (:

ps: you can find InensaFire 2.0 mod kit on ebay for only $24

  • Guys, if you add the primer over the paint after youve done the primer then paint and then the clear coat the clear coat sticks better and is much stronger and more scratch resistant

  • THANK YOU SOOO MUCH I NEEDED THAT!!!!!!

  • just spraypaint the damn thing pink, thats leet dawgs

  • ugly!!!!!!!

  • Nice controller bud, way to pay respect to The Chief.

  • you guys are dumbfks, the dude done this video 3 years ago, after that there are loads of custom painted controller vids better, but before those video this one was something, appreciate what you see or dont watch at all.

  • is there anything else we can use instead of friendly straws

  • Music is crap

  • @1zacster any home improvement store. also, use spray not bottles.

  • I like those random halo pics at the end lol

  • The controller never feels the same way as before believe me.

  • bet you he switched controllers

  • 2, then 1 for "I NEVER KNOW!"

  • what if my controller is Black

  • ya know.. it aint that hard.. i just taped everything up and then put on 1 coat pf paint.. let it dry then another and my controler is black and yellow

  • help!!! my controller paint scratches off with my finger nail!!! why/ how do i fix.

  • @KIRI3IW how long have u let it sit i painted my xbox case and controller and it would scratch with my finger nail for about a week, then it finally hardened enough that it didnt scratch as easy, my suggestion is to let it sit for awhile or be rlly carful using it

  • I bet you had fun trying to remove the bAttery after you sprayed it all, here's a tip, remove the battery or it will be stuck to the controler case

  • wouldn't it be easier to disasemble the controller then spray paint the white parts (Colored parts) of your controller, then let it dry, and then reasemble it?

  • This is completely wrong, your paint will all wear off, awful video

  • uh... can u show the steps ?

  • All right, chrome controller here I come!!

  • do you have to cover the holes even if the board and stuff out?

  • Check Out The Custom PaintJobs I've Done For a Few Xbox 360 Controllers, PS3 Controllers & an Xbox 360 Slim.

  • if its the "official way" how come you dont list the sandpaper .. what grits .. why dont you actually use a torx head screwdriver and do it the correct way instead of the hillbilly way ? and there not security torx there regular all you have to have is a standard torx bit . when you go to reinstall the parts back together with a flat head youll scratch off your cheap paint .

  • the screws arent flat heads

  • @WELSHYBOII101

You're right, they are security torx, but there is a method of using a flat head screwdriver to remove them.

  • @WELSHYBOII101 They are on the Wireless Controller

  • Do you only paint the outside of the battery pack?

  • SHIIIEEET DAMmn! i new i forgot something and that's why my controller is ugly now! I forgot to put the fucking plastic primer on!! lol

  • what if you want a matte finish to it?

  • @thumbwar73 yeah same i dont want to look glossy i want it matte

  • @thumbwar73 Then I'm pretty sure you would use matte paint?

  • @MrGoboka matte finish is different from a regular glossy finish, i wanna make sure i get it right the first time.

  • whats with the gaylo pics at the end?

  • @spllen2 i think he was trying to replicate the limited edition halo 3 controller

  • i like the part when he can take a real picture.

  • Why the Halo 3 screen shots?

  • just buy torx 9 dick cheap ass kids 2$ any hardware store

  • 2 much work

  • i bet ur hand s get all sticky

  • @ricky33551 clear coat

  • i dont have plastic primer. but i do have clear enamel. cant i just put a couple coats of that on after i paint it instead of priming it.

  • :p no it wont work like that there are different styles of paints and and if u want to have a good looking controller, no clumps or clots or smudges, then u have 2 prime it 1st so that the paint will set well on it and it will be easier 2 paint on 2, with a better outcome :)

  • oh, it is noob style

  • whhy cant u just paint it without taking everything apart, i mean sure u dont want the paint to get in the buttons but why do u have to dissasemble it

  • @hugehalofan1 cuz u have 2 spray primer all over it.

  • @MrImoldenuff forgive me if i sound stupid but cant u just take a paintbrush and paint on it avoiding the buttons

  • If I paint each part separately with the button holes uncovered will the buttons stick to the sides after i'm done putting it back together??

  • @s4b3rdr4g0n u could sand the paint down to make it smooth, but may not look as good

  • thanks all i needed was the products and your video helped

  • Looks Pretty Nice Man. you did a Similiar method like i Did covering the Button Holes unpainted.

  • beast!

  • new 360 conTROLLer

  • One bad thing is the paint would rub off after handeling it alot.

  • @BulletDodge57

Primer is there for a reason

  • im thinking of a NES themes controller, where can i buy small bottles of grey, red, black, and primer for cheap?

  • @1zacster joann fabrics is a great place to start, otherwise paint is pretty cheap everywhere, but with somethingas expensive as an xbox controller, why skimp?

  • im from the uk and i cant find any "clear coat" howevr i can find clear lacquer, can someone pls tell me if i can use this clear lacquer

  • @HSrules98 you can use the lacquer. i painted my first controller last night and the lacquer worked really good. it gave it a very nice smooth feel and nice shine.

  • @nyg68 Thanks 4 the help!!! I can finnally paint my controller THANKS AGAIN!!!

  • @HSrules98 its the same thing

  • Hey, My friend and I sell custom painted controllers with player 1-4 LED color changes and 6 mode rapid fire check out the video on my channel or go to modsquare.weebly.com

  • my friend painted his controller and he ruided it he gave it 6 cots of orange paint

  • Thankssss

  • u should be able to do it with a black or white controller just if u have a black one look for like a white or lighter color plastic primer and i agree with the people saying take out your buttons its more work but its much more professional and keeps you from having to worry about accidentally getting paint on anything its not desired on.

  • How do you prevent fingerprint and finger nail marks on your controller?

  • @hellopeeps99 powderless latex gloves

  • i like what you did with the green and black :]

  • You mentioned needing a can of clear coat to prevent the paint from chipping. Is there any specific brand you would recommend? Love the video, by the way. Your controller looks SICK!

  • i should probably do a practice run on my controller which the right trigger, left thumb stick, a button and left bumper dont wrk for a practice run

  • Why would you use them straws and tape like that? Did you not bother taking out the buttons? :S seems like a waste of supplys, every mod i done i just took the buttons out and put them to one side, and that thing you done with the start and select button, way to much effort, easier to just put them on some newspaper nd spray em that way :)

  • @ChoclateTurtle So you dont have the buttons stick at all when playing,

if the paint coat sticks out too much in the holes the buttons stick.

  • Hey can you do this w/ an elite controller or will the colors be darker? thanks

  • dusnt the controller get sticky when u sweat a bit while playing

  • @theloserfromfleetst it does anyway

  • Do u hav to hav q wite controller

  • It's good, but you should put more details, like others.

    GOOD WORK!

  • that controller looks nice...thanks for vid will a model car sample paint car work also? cuz im gonna be paintin my controller hemi orange and black..

  • I LOVE THIS BAND!!!

  • That's pretty similar to mine, except that mines blue and has black triggers.

  • Comment removed

  • @ZYXWVUTSRQPONMLKYJI makes no sense bitch..

  • 0:53 **can someone plz reply!!!--Do you really have to sand it down??

    thanks in advance

  • @ledzep245 Almost definitely needs to be done.

  • can this be done with wired controllers? i have one wired controller that i nevr use so i just wana fck around with it

  • just take the shell of with the screws at the back and spray paint it, thats how i did it in about 10 minutes

  • I really love the green color you used. What color and what brand is it?

  • Lol I just used black and gold acrylic paint with a paintbrush and I didn't use primer or clear coat paint... What's gonna happen?

  • If you're a perfectionist use a torx t8 security screwdriver

  • How mush does the paint and plastic primer cost?

  • you are a smart bitch

  • Okay, thanks I got it.

  • I thought you need a Torx t8 screwdriver...not a flathead screwdriver.

  • @littlebrittle1128

You don't need a Torx 8 bit with a security hole. You can push a flathead, using the security bump to unscrew it. You're not going through it, just beside the bump.

    Ie: Connect the Points: 1 and 3, 2 and 4, 3 and 5, 4 and 6, 5 and 1, 6 and 2 with the flathead.

  • Thanks for posting this! Its going to help me out alot tomorrow when I get some spray Paint and Sand Paper. Think I will make a Red Tiger controller with red LED's.

  • whats the song?
