I always considered myself a moderate but as i get older i find myself in the camp of the Rs alot more then the Ds.

I agree Nixon was a great fiscal president he was the last R to balance the budget.

I tend to disagree i felt left out of the Democratic party in Pa when i ran for State office.

I think Spector got scared when he voted for that huge pork bill.

He is only worried about himself not the people of PA.

I think it will be interesting come 2010 we will find out if people still reject the GOP i tend to think people will vote for them if they campaign on less government issues.

That is the only way the GOP can win less government and less pork and less taxation.

the medicare tax would have to go up but i dont think obama would want to tax middle or working class voters to pay for it if there is a tax increase to pay for Obamas agenda it would most likely be a tax imposed on the wealthiest Americans,i know you disagree me on this but people like Bill Gates dont need tax breaks,just because a millionaire pays more in tax doesnt mean that he or she cant live a good life,sometimes te wealthiest have to help thier country

Look at some european governments: they are doing nothing, besides controlling public spending, protecting banking deposits and lowering some taxes. This is a crisis caused by too much spending, borrowing and bebt by governments, companies and consumers. So is much better to let liquidate malinvestment (aka doing nothing) than promoting more of the same: more borrowing and debt and punish savers to force them consume. That will lead to a much worse crisis.
