Your second problem with that argument is that the 99 names given are his attributive names and not proper names. e.g. if i am a doctor, my name is Dr. AROC, the Dr. being my status. Some scholars have interpreted that to mean gossip, or words that take one away from remembrance of Allah (swt), and that could be music.Third, there are several hadith which discourage strings and instruments, but hold the tambourine as being allowed. So it's not about music being halal/haram. It's moreso the concept of intsruments and if music detracts from remembrance of Allah swt.

The reason why Music is Haram is it places a person into a temporary and a false state of mind, it's a short-lived emotion. It clouds the mind and takes people out of reality. Music can side-track one's reality and plunges one to a "false ideology", I think when you hear the music of today it's all self-explanatory. Your second problem with that argument is that the 99 names given are his attributive names and not proper names. e.g. if i am a doctor, my name is Dr. AROC, the Dr. being my status. I am aa few names of 99 of God is "the creator, the merciful, the sustainer etc." It does not follow that each one of those names represent a different God.

The moon is a symbol that was taken from The Byzantines (Orthodox Christians) by Sultan Mehmet II after the conquest of Constantinople. Mehmet II just added the star. @innocentperson2 second, you won't find it anywhere in the qur'an that "music" is haraam. "Idle talk" is haraam. Some scholars have interpreted that to mean gossip, or words that take one away from remembrance of Allah (swt), and that could be music.Third, there are several hadith which discourage strings and instruments, but hold the tambourine as being allowed. So it's not about music being halal/haram. It's moreso the concept of intsruments and if music detracts from remembrance of Allah swt.

The reason why Music is Haram is it places a person into a temporary and a false state of mind, it's a short-lived emotion. It clouds the mind and takes people out of reality. Music can side-track one's reality and plunges one to a "false ideology", I think when you hear the music of today it's all self-explanatory. If you are born as a Hindu die as a Hindu. No religion is greater than the other. It is a crap when a person says certain religion is greater this is why he or she has converted. I am proud of my religion. My parents would have been extremely disappointed with me if I had converted, my father would have told me to throw the oscars down the drain if I could not show respect to my hindu religion and culture.

@karasi58 But that is YOUR personal opinion. Religion is individual. What is the point of being a Hindu if you don't feel connected to it at all?? Besides, converting to one religion doesn't mean that you stop respecting others. Respect and love people of all religions, conversion or not. Period. Salaam to you.
