Iraq was not governed by a radical Islamist. Saddam Hussein was a socialist Ba'athist. His agenda was secular. He never used Islam as a rallying point except when it was strategically useful. He actually suppresed, jailed and killed Islamists. You argument that it is against radical Islam doesn't mesh with Hussein. Learn a little bit more about the world.
