A big part of why the riots happened because people felt angry at the banks and Tory cuts to youth services and benefits not to mention the social injustices they were suffering. Did you know that an emergency motion on the riots proposed by the prison officers’ union argued that economic inequality and the impact of cuts lay behind the riots. The views of Richard in this video are soooooooooo correct!!!!
@bancircuses - and your a supporter of Socialist ideals. Better to lay out your views than dance around them, I respect that. I completely disagree and think that socialism is soul crushing and only encourages more poverty.
Socialism is not consistent with human nature and the collapsing European economies bear this fact out.
@timeouttamind1 Capitalism promotes a system where the rich get richer and the poor get poorer!!!!! That leads to human inequality!!!! Human inequality in turn leads to a section of people in society (namely the less well off) being discriminated against by those with capitalist ideals and capitalist power. That discrimination and marginalisation I would propose is what led to the london riots. The underclass felt their voice was not being heard
I live in Glasgow a city ridden with poverty. We have one of the highest rates of child poverty in the UK and frankly it’s a surprise there was no riots here!!!! The Tories were using the idea of an “undeserving poor” in their response to the London protests. We need to take account of the extreme inequalities in income, social justice, social opportunity that characterise the UK today!!!!
@bancircuses Sorry to hear things are not going better in Glasgow.
Communism, socialism and progressivism share three fatal flaws - 1.They assume that all people perform on the same level and contribute equally 2. That the human nature is anything other than at its best when it is absolutely competitive 3.People are willing to be generous involuntarily.

@plevyman just providing the reported background the origination of the events for those that may be unaware. Absolutely nothing was assumed about the events between the police and the suspect that was shot. Cops get shot dead just for doing their jobs, it's a messy world out there. :-/
@timeouttamind1 The last policeman I know of who was shot dead in mainland Britain was in 2008 - while on firearms training. Other than that, there was a policeman shot while attending a domestic dispute in 2007, and recently one was blinded when he was shot in the face by an on-the-run murderer (who later killed himself). I might be wrong but I don't think it's a particularly common occurrence for British coppers to come under fire. I'd have thought stabbing was more of a problem.
"Don't forget the israeli demonstration" - Don't forget the land that was stolen and the Palestinians who were made homeless because of these land theifs and looters.
@Tzimnewman3 without getting into Israel / Palestine conflict, it is most notable that Richard Quest seeks to encourage and foment rioting on the basis of social inequality. He was asked about London and then he inexplicably links the discussion to Israel??? AGENDA! And they say FoxNews is bad . . .

Of course, being an alleged drug-dealer fully justifies being shot dead by the police.

@plevyman Nobody said that - the details of that situation are without merit to Richard Quest's twisted comments

@timeouttamind1 If they're without merit to his comments, then why the "alleged drug dealer" comment in your video description?
