  • Nice job @korgrandi ! I saw this guitar live months ago but had never watched the making of.

  • I applaud you! You're obviously a man of many hidden qualities hehehe!

  • @woodyamsterdam They're not hidden. It's just that you never looked beyond my pretty face, hahaha.

  • @korgrandi

That must have been indeed the case I guess lol!

  • yea! How did I miss this vid! Nice man! looks like a good neck joint. great routing. nice jig too!

  • @kdc300z I did quite a fixing job on the neck joint. I think you saw it in a previous vid, was loose at first. Glued in a strip of cherry, then worked carefully with the chisel.

I needed the jig as a 20" planer, but you probably know what it's for, as I didn't invent anything, just copied the idea from somewhere.

  • Hey you finished it, nice one. It looks and sounds cool. Bass next then?

  • @ColonelBuckshot

Tempting, but at the same time I want to make it right. I only did the body on this one. If I do another one, I'll do it all. I'm still trying to figure out if I want a neck through body or a glued on neck (dont want to make a bolt on). Haven't decided plenty of stuff actually like the wood I'd use coz my guitar is very heavy. So I want to take my time before I start buying material. I already have two basses, so there's no rush :)

  • Good job, cherry is one of my favorite words to work with. Thanks for letting me know you made one.

  • @jonnda Hey thanks for dropping by and checking my guitar out.

  • awesome

  • Wow dude that's amazing. Very nice guitar and skills duuuuuuuuuude!

  • @Adje1960 Great skill indeed. I know at least 10 other riffs like that, hehehe.

  • @korgrandi I meant building skills duuuuuude! I know you suck on the guitar hahahaha! j/k

  • Wow! Thats an amazing skill man. I was always interested in building acoustic drums, but shell constructions requires specilized machines/tools, custome rules, because you made it, its like homemade food verses Mcdonalds:) Keep building and playing!

  • @LouddrummerO Yeah I can imagine a bit. I figure you could build a shell in the manner of a barrel or in a laminated way. But I'm just guessing here.

  • sweet and run to the hills!

  • hahaha nice! Loved when you started playing NotB. Anyway, sweet guitar man, sounds great ; just don't leave it hanging on the wall somewhere, give it a go once in a while :)

  • @SlackBabbathTs I'll try to do that. After a few years of playing bass, really weird to play a guitar. It's all so delicate: strings are soft and close together.

  • Damn, that's a heavy sounding Tele. Nice work there. So you switching over to guitar now? =)

  • @Asphyx123 The only gear I own for guitar is a Boss Metal Zone. Not gonna switch. Pretty useful to have a guitar around for recording original stuff for example. I didn,t like either of the ones I had. Now I have one, but I like it.

  • awesome guitar dude, and don't think I didn't see that beer at 0:35

  • nice man, are you naming it on the head stock?

  • @TheAcousticBassist I dunno. Probably not since it's not my design or anything....

  • @korgrandi it's not your design, but you crafted it. I'd put a name on it. Just put the telecaster name in smaller print under the name you give it. i.e Korgrandi - telecaster. Find a nice font.

  • Sweet.

  • Nice.

  • Massive props man! That is such an incredible job.

  • @Spector2112 Thanks man. It's a very gratifying job.

  • This was Great!

  • WOW!! You got skills man! Nice woodworking! I never got past making ashtrays in woodshop class in 8th grade! The guitar is beautiful and sounds AWESOME!! Great job!!

  • @sageguitar70 Well I never could play a guitar solo, so we're even :)

  • hey congrats man, the guitar looks beautiful and sounds awesome!!! and your guitar playin' didn't sound bad at all, in fact it was pretty mean playing!! rock on!!

  • @gkoz791 Thanks Gerry. I don't know songs on the guitar but I know lots of riffs.

  • NICE! I hated tele's when I was a kid, now I think that their my favorite for the simplicity alone. Rammstein and Maiden..I recognized them so I guess you can play guitar after all, lol. Are you running the strings through the body?

  • @gl797 Yeah the strings are through body. Realized I'd have to do that when I received the bridge. So I just drilled through. I figured that was the way to do it.

A Tele with a humbucker, now that's something I can use!

  • @korgrandi You should see about getting some string ferrules, Google "Stew-Mac" and search "ferrules". Also, they make humbuckers in a single coil size...so it will drop right in. I'd just change the bridge one and leave the neck as a single.

  • @gl797 Good to know, but too late now, hehehe.

  • @korgrandi LOL I put my glasses on, I see you have a humbucker already. I thought you were saying that you wanted to put a new humbucker in.

Man you're damn good with that router.

  • thats pretty tight i must say :D

  • make me a bass for free and ull bw the best

  • Nice looking and sounding guitar!! Love cherry wood. Rock On!!

  • @fourty5mag Thanks man. My favorite wood for furniture. That's why I had a little lying around.
