I thought it was the game because it was used as well, but I took it back to Gamestop and they replaced the console because it wouldn't play any games they tried either. That was why I asked, I wanted to know if that one was a piece of shit like the one that I unwittingly bought. I have one that works now. But thank you for replying anyway.
