  • thank you I have been trying to learn this procedure. By watching this in segments I can do it very nicely. Thank you for all of your hard work and efforts

  • what type of needles are you using? and what size? they look very interesting.

  • Thank you!!! Subscribing!

  • Thinks for putting this video up it helped me alot. I just have one question what kind on needles are you uses for the double pointed needles and whats the brand name. Would you also be posted video links for learning how to makes socks step by step.

  • This nice. But I knits on four needles. I Knit Gloves on four Needles. And I've tried to knit socks on four needles too. I'll try again. Knitting is fun and is very interesting. Keep Knitting.

  • @sazji Thanks! I'm very much a beginner and while the video was super helpful to me, I didn't know what laddering was. @stitchdiva It was otherwise very clear. I'm excited to try my first hat, I just need to practice decreasing without the stitches getting uneven.

  • Oh my. This makes me nervous. But I think you did an excellent job of explaining it. Im trying it in the morning! Making some fingerless glove things. !

  • WOW, so confusing!!!

  • I was wondering what kind of dpn are you using?

  • Thank you for your video. It was very helpful. :)

  • I'm a brand new beginner, but I get your instructions. Thanks for the easy instructions and slow demonstration, it really helps to actually watch exactly what you are doing, some vids skip forward. All that is left to do to test your explanation skills is for me to go home and try it! thanks again!!

  • she's beautiful

  • I was so excited when I bought my first pack of my very own double pointed needles to do this and knit amigurumi.

Until I got home and realized.... IT WAS A PACK OF 4. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

  • Very confusing. I failed at this.

  • Although I had to watch this video many, many times, I actually got it. Thank you!

  • After trying and trying, I've been unable to do this properly until I saw your video! Now I can do it just fine! The friend who tried to teach me will be so pleased. Thank you very, very much! You ARE the diva!

  • it's crazy!!! u knitting with 5 needles @_@

  • this is a really terrible video, it doesn't explain anything well enough

  • O.k., I'm going to sound like a huge hypocrite, but I gave dpns a try, and they're actually not all that bad. I never have any laddering with them, and once you get the hang of it, it's actually easy. Though I was scared witless my first go, after I realized you could be sort of rough with the needles and push them out of your way, it really is just like working with two straights, once you sort of tune out the other ones. I say give it a try.

  • wow AUGH holy crap... uhh.... yeah I think I'll stick with my circular needles kthx ~O.o~

  • @CoffeehouseGirl25 Agreed! (Sorry, I accidentally thumbs-downed this :C My apologies)

  • I'm an intermediate knitter and this seems to be right on pace for me. Thanks!

  • They're Addi plastic dpn's. You can find your nearest store or online source by typing in "Addi needles" on google. :) Hope this helps!

  • you are a great speed knitter. unfortunately, i needed to see what you were doing :(

  • i would get confused

  • Too long and nerve racking.

  • Your needles are too big for the yarn and due to that, they wobble around too much to get a good idea of your knitting and where you're supposed to be.

  • I am new to knitting and I do understand somewhat what you are doing here...my question, how do you keep track of what needle you need to be working on? There are so many projects I want to try that call for knitting in the round or circular needles. It is all so confusing and can get rather frustrating for new knitters. Thanks for the video!

  • i am sssssooooo terrible of knitting on dpns!

  • @speedyresx - All of us are! I use circular needles and only use double pointed needles if I absolutely have to.

  • i love your needles, where did you get them from, im from uk, london

  • Hey! This video was really helpful to me! I just wanted to know----what does laddering mean? There are so many knitting terms I am not familiar with--it's so confusing!

  • Very clear -- thank you for doing this!

  • You saved me - I got the stitches cast on but couldn't for the life of me figure out how to hold everything so the working yarn and the left hand needle were in the right place. Thanks!

  • thanks so much! It is very very clear and I am so grateful I found it!

  • Oh my god.

    this is so confusing.

  • that was the most ridiculously fast tutorial i've ever seen DDDD:

  • this stresses me out just watching this..

  • @shortdorkette777 Ditto. I'd grab the wrong needle or have the yard fall off all needles...way too hard and confusing. Kudos to the OP for her talent in handling these, but I think I'll take a circular needle over a dpn any day.

  • how i knit socks?

  • I have made many videos teaching knitting/crochet on my other youtube channel and i just think that you should go slower because beginner knitters do not understand and cant see what you are doing that fast .

Also you should explain what laddering is.

  • @knittips what is laddering?

  • @grammarnazi2009 Laddering is when you get a space between the stitches where you go from one needle to the next. This exposes the yarn that runs from stitch to stitch, in a column. If it's very slight, it will usually disappear when you wash/block the piece, but it's avoidable.

  • @knittips Anyone attempting knitting in the round should already have a good knowledge base of how to knit and know what laddering is. Jennifer was showing us how to knit in the round. Something I had never managed to pick up until I saw this video.

    Thank you Jennifer.

  • Hey Hennifer, you should explain what you mean by "laddering" because you mention it twice in the video but beginners like me don't know what it is. Are you perhaps speaking of accidentally dropping a stitch ?

  • I don't know why i was redirected to this vid, but it looks cool. Not that I know anything about, what she is doing, but her knitting is somehow hypnotizising me. Cool

    -Thanks Diana.

  • Thank you stitch diva! My knitting has always been inside out while knitting in the round, and finally your video was clear enough for me to figure out what I was doing wrong. There's no stopping me now! socks- here I come!

  • Hi. I´m from Ciudad Juarez, Mexico. (sorry for my english, i´m learning) I´m was looking how to knit with 5 needles, and this video show me clearly how to do so. Thanks a lot : )

  • Thank you so much for this video! Some of the knitting videos on here are very difficult to see what they're doing-yours is easy to understand. I have been trying to do a baby hat and ripped it up 3 times. I almost threw the needles away before I saw this!

  • how can you tell what needle is next?

  • Thank you so much for making this video! Extremely helpful to a confused first-time user of double-pointed needles. :)

  • I liked this video very much, It is clear and to the point. The audio is also very good.

  • This is so cool.I cant wait until i get some of DPN's.Thanks for sharing!

  • It would be nice if you pointed out that when transferring the stitches to the additional needles, that you start on the last co and you use a 'as if to perl' angle and movement.

  • omg, having 5 needles clanking around would drive me NUTS! I'm going out tonight to get cabled needles so I can do Magic Loop in the round. :) Thanks for the video though. Great illustration of the technique.

  • Thanks for this video, it kinda make sense just a little confused (lol).... which one is the second neddle?

  • Thank you!

  • Just to confuse everyone, here's tip: exchange the first and the last stitch, on the cast on, to make a good join.

  • thank you for your video! i was so confused on how to knit in a round but this helped ALOT!

  • Fantastic and informative demonstration! I love your site, and your instruction is very straight forward.

Please keep in mind hairpin lace for your next demonstrations. I'm left-handed and need all the help I can get:)

    Keep up the good work!

  • SO helpful. After near tears frustration and reading and searching all over the place I watched this and FINALLY knitting with dpn made sense!
