They did not cancel SGA to make SGU. Had the writers had their way, they would have run both shows simultaneously. However, SyFy decided that SGA was too expensive for its ratings, and canned it, while banking on the new show.
Just throwing in my opinion to this discussion. Stargate Atlantis story was definitely a copy of SG-1. But it was copied very well. Meaning: They had a total new set of interesting characters that appealed in their own way. A new convincing enemy and the plot that developed between the different races didn't feel made up or copied in any way. I actually like the so said "drama part" towards the end.
SGU on the other hand... It didn't really have any character that I really liked or could identify with. The story felt made up and therefor all the drama wasn't dramatic at all in my opinion. (Speaking of copying, why the frakkin hell do they call their jump engines FTL?!?).
I'm not mad that they stopped with SGU. But what really gets on my nerves is that we probably will NOT get our promised SGA movie.....

This is a great song, and it really makes sense when looked at from the perspective of Tela's people. Their only victory against the wraith for thousands of years has been to die peacefully.
well for me SGU is the best, i really like the dark style and its way more realistic than the other 2.
the problem for most SG fans is that its pretty different from SG1 and SGA but if you look at it as a stand alone series its just way better than SG1 and SGA you should not rate it as a Stargate series because its just not really the same.
All I know is she's a sexy and beautiful woman with a beautiful voice. Beauty and talent. And it runs in the family because her sister is pretty and talented too.
I watch all SGA series again and again. I really fell in love with it and i don't care i know what will happen in every episode, i just must see it :D

@tomjkwiz I adore Atlantis - but I said that already. I have watched season 1 of SG-1 and was terrifically bored. I'm still continuing though. My friend has assured me that around season 7 it starts to get AWESOME and I hate watching out of order - so it's SG-1 marathon all the way! I am indeed giving SG-1 another chance but it's hard when I have McKay and Teyla and Radek and Weir all poking me. :) I haven't seen the movies but will. I'll let you know how it goes if you like!

I think SGA is the best - I was bored after 5 episodes of SGU and slipped away from SG-1 after 5 seasons. I'm willing to give it another go, but SGA has this magic to it that I haven't seen it in the other two shows. I can't explain it.

I agree as well as do a lot of people personally i like Atlantis because you get more interaction with spaceships eg 304 Aurora/Hippoforalkus (call it what you will) however the best space battle was in air part 1 of SGU best graphics i think

@TehOfficialRJTH SGU was better than Atlantis imo. They're all good but SGU had a darker side to it that made it more entertaining. Sadly though, ratings ruined it.

WOW! She sounds like an angel! This song is so short and its amazing how big and poweful the message is with her voice behind it. If it was sung at my funeral you would probably see tears on my face!
