A battle cruiser can not beat a frigate just because he has hte biggest cannons in the game, their are very intricate details behind the battle and the METAgame is massive for this. @PKD49 ACtually. I play Broodwar still. And it far exceeds use auto attack on other ships. I tried this game and got bored after a few hours. Its just a money maker. Seriously. All you need to do is research skills and wait. Mine then buy shit. Ther is no feeling. Its simply auto attack. Almost no micro or macro involved. THis game simply is a GOld pt
Takes a lot of patience, but is very rewarding in the end. These ships don't just pop up out of thin air. Takes weeks to build one, so popping one is a big deal, and 4 is not seen very often. For those of you who haven't tried EVE. Give it a shot, you can queue your skills and they train with time (even while you are logged off) so you don't have to grind for the skills, this might be for you if don't have a lot of time to dedicate to grinding.

I might try and get this game, since it would be nice to see these fights with your own ships, maybe/maybe not get involved in them, but I don't know... I need more information on this game than a few videos. How much does it cost to play this game? Will it be slow due to it being an MMO? What is the goal of this game? @4613645 it cost 15 bucks a month but if you make enough in game u can buy game time with isk/ in game money, EVE can start off very slow but as u skill up you can do more and more, there is no real goal in this game is all based on your opinion and for your niche its all based on what you find to like, and if you want to start its a good idea to start with the free trial on there website. The best thing you can possibly do when you start is find a corp u like and they can teach you.
Doesn't look as exciting as the trailers (shock horror). I'm sure when you are sitting in your chair watching this happening and you know everything it's really cool and tense. But right now, all I can see are ships that aren't flying around or doing anything fancy and they are shooting at each other with big long spindly bits of spider thread. The guitar music doesn't make it any more exciting for me.

Yeah, your comment is fairly common regarding these EVE battle videos. "Wow, a bunch of shiny lights flashing, exciting." I just started playing about 2 weeks ago, and there is a lot more to the game than battles. Most of my time so far is spent either searching through the markets for goods I want (looking for decent prices). Its fairly open ended and you can basically do anything you want to in terms of your trade (Be an industrialist- miner/manufacturer , trader,or Combat.

@Kanner111 That would be 2-gigawatt lasers being fired all over from ships that battle the size of a planet, all of which are armed with enough firepower to nuke the US with a single shot. This is a war. Ships that big can't move all quick anyway.
@Kanner111 This is not what it looks like on my screen. Most my corp uses missiles. This battle only shows a miniscule fragment of eve combat. LOL big amount of game money burning here. Players have to earn those ships and once gone they are gone forever. You don't just respawn in a new ship. Dieing actually means something in this game. One common technique for reduceing damage is speeding up your ship to make it faster than the enemys can move their guns. So no far from just hanging in place.
Im kinda happy and sad at the same time. It's a beautifull game, but such a waste on time and effort, only thing you get are a few km's and like 10 minutes of action from it. On the other hand, grief is priceless.....but hey...
@MrBACONLUBE1 It has the best tank. Amarr capitals have the best tank and the Gallente capitals have the best dps. Its why you only see Amarr and Gallente capitals.

@mithat90 RL money. ISK can be used to purchase game cards which are worth $15 each. You could pretty easily make minimum wage playing the game but to go further, would probably need to found a successful corporation ingame and provide some sort of service. The ingame economy is the most complex of any IMO I have yet seen.

@adjustrealityprod dude, there is a lot of titans on the game, but they dont walk around.. and you probrably will never see one in high sec... and yes there is more now, as the game gains lifetime, the economy grows up, more isk to alliances, more players ratting, more money to build titans
@Bournesax because the game can be paid for monthly with $15 or you can use ingame currency to buy timecards, which sell for 150-175 million for 1 month of time (15 USD) That creats a market rate for an ISK (ingame currency) to dollar. There is also a blackmarket of selling currency online like in all MMO's and that market rate may differ do to market inefficiency but I am not sure. Wall Street Journal has even done an article on the resource markets of eve bc they mirror RL in their ocmplexity

NC is not strong. NC has more or less broken up, and PL are now mercs for the Russians.
IT corps joined stuff like Raiden. , AAA, Atlas and RzR. You thought BoB was dead. Then came IT. You never know whats next.

@Kanner111 That would be 2-gigawatt lasers being fired all over from ships that battle the size of a planet, all of which are armed with enough firepower to nuke the US with a single shot. This is a war. Ships that big can't move all quick anyway.

@Kanner111 This is not what it looks like on my screen. Most my corp uses missiles. This battle only shows a miniscule fragment of eve combat. LOL big amount of game money burning here. Players have to earn those ships and once gone they are gone forever. You don't just respawn in a new ship. Dieing actually means something in this game. One common technique for reduceing damage is speeding up your ship to make it faster than the enemys can move their guns. So no far from just hanging in place.

Im kinda happy and sad at the same time. It's a beautifull game, but such a waste on time and effort, only thing you get are a few km's and like 10 minutes of action from it. On the other hand, grief is priceless.....but hey...

@mithat90 11k USD, in normal time what USD mean? :P so yea in short, real life money... like if someone would buyed 11k worth plex and sell it on the market, 1 plex is about 350-400 million isk ingame, now do the math :)

@mithat90 RL money. ISK can be used to purchase game cards which are worth $15 each. You could pretty easily make minimum wage playing the game but to go further, would probably need to found a successful corporation ingame and provide some sort of service. The ingame economy is the most complex of any IMO I have yet seen.

@adjustrealityprod dude, there is a lot of titans on the game, but they dont walk around.. and you probrably will never see one in high sec... and yes there is more now, as the game gains lifetime, the economy grows up, more isk to alliances, more players ratting, more money to build titans

@Bournesax because the game can be paid for monthly with $15 or you can use ingame currency to buy timecards, which sell for 150-175 million for 1 month of time (15 USD) That creats a market rate for an ISK (ingame currency) to dollar. There is also a blackmarket of selling currency online like in all MMO's and that market rate may differ do to market inefficiency but I am not sure. Wall Street Journal has even done an article on the resource markets of eve bc they mirror RL in their ocmplexity
