bluesy and smooth loads of feeling kinda reminds me of some gov't mule.I diddn't know david played lap steel. masterful thanks for teaching me something
It's so great that Wrights (with the help of his wife) got back into the band in the late 80's. I feel like it must have been tough for him after getting kicked out by Roger and having some personal issues. Seeing him with Gilmour on all of these sessions/performances is truly incredible, and I'm sure was a huge influence on Gilmour's great musical career since the end of Floyd.
Pink Floyd never came to Brazil, we Brazilians are sorry because we never seen Pink Floyd live here. But we love the sound of Floyd. I play guitar and drums and my greatest inspiration is Gilmour, Waters, Wright and Mason! It would be a dream playing with the master Gilmour.
Gilmour rules.

This is what slide guitar is supposed to sound like. Not that country bullshit slide sound, the bluesy and niddy griddy slide sounds that make the instrument trully emotive....
Emeralds, saphires, rubies and diamonds! I am starting to find them now. His studio is better than Sting's Cherrywood Studios in Italy. What a jazzy sound Rick has on this one.
This man (David Gilmour) made me love the sound of this little glass tube called "slide" with his performances on many albums, like "Live at Pompeii". And he made me practice with a glass slide on my acoustic guitar with so much pleasure.
@jvandle Do you realize that we could spend the next 5 years trying to duplicate that sound 10 hours a day and never get there. They are just fooling around, nothing too serious.
Out standing David.......Top shelf

What's really impressive to me is that he can get his tone out of seemingly any stringed instrument.

Do you see the size of the heater in that room?? It's glowing like a radioactive meltdown. They must really be in a cold-ass barn!
The song is excellent.

Of course, his housboat, Astoria, is his
major recording studio but this 200 year old barn near there is also so good.
Recently he just replaced the hulk on the houseboat so it is now out of drydock.

I meant to say the hull of his boat, not the hulk. lol
