@21108ripHeath A Nazi was a German Soilder in the year 1939-1945 you tard, I don't even know what's your problem. Also that's what it sounds like you fucking tard.
@deaths0ul94 omg you're so smrt! lolzzz. Idiot - a Nazi is a member of the national socialist party, which existed long prior to 1939 and had nothing to do with the army. Not all German soldiers were Nazi's, and not all Nazi's were soldiers.
Much as I like how they actually where pretty accurate to the book in this remake, and did a pretty damn good job at that, an anti-TV rant in a movie that may very well be seen ON a TV is deliciously ironic.
The Nostalgia Critic actually found out what exactly these songs were meant to be. The songs for each of the four kids were homages to the past decades of music. Gloop was the 50's, Violet's was the 60's, Salt's was the 70's, and Mike's was the 80's.
@Emidretrauqe to tell the truth the songs are sort of mixed up. Mike Teavee has a bit of the beatles which ended in the 70's. With Veruca it would have been in the 60's because of the beatels. Cont. It makes a child so dull and blind! SO DULL!! ( and blind!) SO DULL!! ( and blind!) They can no longer understand the fairytales in fairyland! (THE FAIRYLAND!! THE FAIRYLAND!!) Their brains become as soft a cheese! Their thinking powers rust & freeze! They cannot think, they only see!!! Darling, we don't like TV, We'd rather watch regretfully! (regretfully!)
The important, that we'll ever learn. The most important thing we'll learn-as far as children are concerned is Never, never let them near, your television set. Or better still just don't install the idiotic at all! (Aah-Aah!) NeverNever let them! (Aah-Aah!) NeverNever let them! Aah-Aah! Aah-Aah! Aah-Aah-Aah-Aah! [Hair Band solo] NeverNever let them! NeverNever let them! It busts the senses in their heads! It kills imagination dead! It clogs & clutters up the mind!
@BlendedSea I'm talking about the guy who was trying to stab him in the shower, in the movie that was from, the guy's name is Norman Bates. I didn't mean the Oompa Loompa.
The second is the songs and what there about. The lesson is all the same but hears the thing
Willy wonka and the chocolate factory: it tells you to stop it plus gives you reasons why
Charlie and the chocolate factory :just tells you the bad things and your to amazed by the millions of midgets the awesome lyrics and all the pretty colors to even under stand the song
that kid may have a lot of know how and book smarts...but if the kid was a true genius, would he have teleported himself into the TV without thinking of how he was going to get himself out of it first? To be honest, much as I like Roald Dahl, growing up with him and still like much of his work, the chocolate factory aged pretty poorly for me.
It just comes over to much as a rant at things Dahl personally doesn't like. And whilst he delivers it with his usual charm, the whole Mike Teavea part always DID came over to me as 'Grr! Damn kids don't read (my) books anymore! Rah!'
I'm a little bit curious about this, because A) the author would, as you mentioned, have no knowledge of the new version, but B) Roald Dahl himself WROTE THE SCREENPLAY for the 70s film.
yeah but still the 70s film was completely different fro the book, the author would most certainly like the 2005 version better as it followed the book down to Willy Wonka's darker side, as well as the songs and how the oompa loompa's looked
Roald Dahl is the author in question. I'm fully willing to believe he would have loved the remake, but the fact is he WROTE the SCREENPLAY for the 70s film. The many differences were written into the screenplay BY THE AUTHOR OF THE ORIGINAL BOOK. Every change was made with his full consent.
Still, he doesn't like chocolate. And you can see his knowledge didn't take him anywhere. Because he didn't like chocolate. The world spins around chocolate!
My thing was buffering to this is what i heard:
