every time I think about this song in my head while not actually listening to it I always mix up "intellect and romance over brute force and cynicism" to be "intellect and brute force over romance and cynicism"... that would be an interesting twist on the show if they did it that way, wouldn't it?

Sad to see Nicholas Courtney (The Brigadier) died last week. He was one of my favourite recurring characters.

@ScottishConanGuygirl not 100% true. the doctor's species (Time Lords) can die if there was too much damage done to the body or even during the regeneration process if theres been a complication of sorts (s2ep0 : The Christmas Invasion).

the episodes "The End of Time: Part One" + "The End of Time: Part Two" sub plot is about him dieing expressing that regenerating is similar to dieing... "He will knock 4 times then you will die." -- kinda pulls on your heart strings at the end of part 2.

Ok, who hasn't heard of Dr. Who (well what geek hasn't heard of him)? I used to watch Dr. Who on PBS when I was in elementary school back in the 70's. That show and Monty Python totally made me feel like I knew stuff other kids didn't know; that I was somehow better than them.

I'm with you @bobina05 -- Doctor Who (Tom Baker = My Doctor) & Python on PBS, and then - as I am Canadian - The Prisoner, Man from U.N.C.L.E., The Avengers and Ger Smart on the CBC and other Canucky channels (and the original Star Trek, but that's a gimme). :D It totally makes being the geek in class worh it because you just /know/ the other kids were missing out on something awesome. ; )
