i was subjected to simular bullying as a child, other kids came round to play with me and would just premeditatedly take me some where to some horrible ending, beatings by all the group with no mercy, multipul instances that spead into school and this went on until i was of age 14-15, the result of this as an adult was alot of serious trust issues with anybody and a 2.5 year prison sentance for violence.

i was subjected to simular bullying as a child, other kids came round to play with me and would just premeditatedly take me some where to some horrible ending, beatings by all the group with no mercy, multipul instances that spead into school and this went on until i was of age 14-15, the result of this as an adult was alot of serious trust issues with anybody and a 2.5 year prison sentance for violence.
being now 35 years old, i still remember each situation in clear hate and still ask why?

Blaming parents is a complete cop out. People know the difference between right & wrong way before their teenage years. Right & wrong is a CHOICE. Theres absolutely no one to blame...not you tube, myspace, music, playstation, the internet, their parents, judas priest, ozzy or marilyn manson....no one to blame but the 8 assholes who CHOSE to committ the crime. So sick & tired of people not taking responsibility for themselves and their actions.....

i agree. teens will always be teens - they like to show up they are the best and that they can do whatever they want. Parents should have a hand on their kids, or else situations like this will happen again.
I mean, in the past there were situations like this (no one doubts on that), but now we have more information rolling on the.
but still, education takes an important role in the way teens act..
here in Portugal we had a teen beating a teacher because of a cellphone..!

Do something stupid and ignorant like that and pay the full penalty. I'm think pretty much ENDLESS hours of community service and big time restitution. Formal loss of any driving rights till 21. also lose the right to associate with each other until it's paid in full. maybe a summer spent at outward bound program on their parent's ticket just to give them a little self respect. Next kids will realize its not such a good idea.

I can totally understand these parents anger with youtube and myspace. If we remove these things though then kids will stop posting these stupid antics, and some will walk away free saying "I wasn't there, prove it" I say let them keep posting and let them keep gettin caught. It's horrible that this happens. I was jumped once by a group of 6, and my friend with me was pregnant. I locked her in the car said no matter what don't open the door. Those 6, including guys, walked off free.

JL, I respect your view. I agree that they can't blame the internet, BUT the parents has a good point. I mean, look around us, things like this makes the world around us the way it is. She may be ignorant but gettin' beat AND posted it online? Don't you think that is overboard? The media (i.e. internet) is the anti-Christ, from fallical views to things like this. Oh I agree that she shouldn't of been beaten like a log but still I kinda feel like the parents are justifying their daughter for saying that. I mean you don't go around doing stuff like that, though thanks for your point of view.I mean I'm not hating on her or anything but she just didn't handle that situation correctly. I agree that her attackers shoul be locked up though they're total a-holes!

No, don't you see? This cycle of revenge and loathing is how things like this happen. Yes, they do deserve it, but it isn't our place to judge someone's fate. Besides, didn't that beaten girl start this? I mean, if we had the chance, we'd go and avenge the beaten girl for what happened, but then we'd be the ones in trouble with not only the authorities, but with all the communities on the internet. (I'm sad now. I think I'll go watch something funny)

oh yah and the whole youtube.. myspace thing man... when are people going to take responsibility for their own actions? Myspace and Youtube are just enabling them to show off. cause of their ego and wanna prove themselves.. and tahts the bottom line.
