it looks like your trying to imatate tiger like i did. and you have the swing backswing problem i used to have. your backswing is all arms, and hardly any chest and back. your arms are only there to connect your shoulders to the hands. watch tigers chest and back and pay attention to his shoulders. mimic that and do drills that keep your hands closer to your body like a clubhead cover under each arm with 1/2 swings. itll a lot of bad shots but stick with it. u remind me of me 5 yrs ago haha
I'm really good at fixing swings, here's some suggestions:
1) You're club is being taken inside
2)MOST IMPORTANT READ AND YOUR GAME WILL GET BETTER if your right elbow comes out (like yours) it's automatically a hook and hit thin! Keep it inside for more power, accuracy and you'll also get the ball in the middle of your club more.
3)Coming down, you dip alot, which means you have to make a correction, which will probably result in you hitting thing.
11carraghers AND JunkmanJim are both right, but i would add that you should feel your hands dropping straight down at the beginning of your downswing, check out videos of a "2 plane swing" and that should help you enormously, sergio garcia is a great example... best of luck bud
your right side is too high at address so your arms swing out and around your right hip(because it's in the way at address). feel like your right hip and shoulder are lower than the left side and you should feel a little more closed than you are now. your arms should now have some room to swing(in front of your body) because your right hip can now get out of the way instead of being stuck
You are getting the high shots from casting the club which stems from the bad arm/hand positions, likely a lack of power as well. Try this: Keep the club head locked in relationship to your left arm (no flipping or cocking). When you kick out out that left side on the downswing the club should have the sensation it is spiking into the ground grip end first. Power comes from this move. The closer to your body, the stronger your release. Bad head positions are a symptom the not disease.
#2 Your right hip is not getting through properly, try pushing your left hip backward to make space to get the hips around. Do this by straightening the left leg as you downswing. This will help with the head bobbing. Watch the Tiger Woods vs. Adam Scott video and check the way they clear the hips. If the left hip doesn't get out of the way you feel really jammed up and unnatural and try to compensate with swing fixes.
#1 Your club is flipping inside on take away, just keep your hands out in front more low and away from the ball to correct this. The swing is essentially out in front of your toes but it appears you are swinging around because of body turn. Keep the same angle on your left hand coming back in "one piece", don't try to set your hands, this should automatically happen when you do what I tell you in suggestion #2.
Your setup is fine. As long as you finish in balance (i.e., hold your finish), your swing is not trying to get back in balance during the swing itself. I suspect that your inconsistencies invariably stem from overuse of your hands through impact, that your release is not consistent. Sometimes you release too late (thin), or release from the top to come over across the target line (pull). Wait until your hands drops into the "slot" (i.e,. lower plane) until you release the club.
Nice looking swing, it does look to me that your club face is a little closed. I had the same problem, all you have to do is open the club face a tad when you lineup to hit the ball, keep your hands in the same position though, don't turn them over. Sometimes you have to tighten your grip. Once you open the face a little bit, grip it, line up, rip it, and you will see results and less of a hook. Hope this helps ^^
Solid swing. like jbegzos said as long as your tempo and rhythm are good for you than it doesn't matter how fast or slow your swing is. but to me it looks like your club face was closed on the take away thus resulting in your hooks. try to keep the face slightly open on your back swing to limit the draw.
your feet are closed like crazy, which is why you hook it and a good shot is a slight draw. if you opened up your stance you would hit what seems like a pull but is actually straight. and all these people keep saying you swing too fast but it doesnt matter if your tempo is repeatable. just find a good rythm
Very fundementals, posture. You seem to get very quick from the top,Work on better tempo to improve your swing thats it really.Hope these tips help take a look at my swing i have a slower tempo and might help.Leave me a comment if it helps you.
Your swing isn't all that bad. There are a few things I would work on, but you would need to be in front of me at a driving range. You seem athletic enough, so work more on your balance and tempo. Freddie Couples swing has a great, slow tempo but he still gets a clubhead speed of 130+ mph due to his wrists and other factors.
With your hook, you are coming through straight with a closed face. With your pull, you are coming outside-to-in with a square clubface. Grip is another concern. MSG me
your falling off balance because your swinging to hard let the club do the work if you look at the pros they don't swing that fast golf is not about power but about placing your shot for the next shot
the aim of hitting the golf ball straight and long is TIMING just swing back 3/4 because u are over swinging and it will take course for ur downswing keep it up
The ball is your friend man. You shouldn't think that the harder you hit it the longer it will go. It is much more important hold the correct position and the alignment of shoulders, knees and waist during the whole swing. Letsgohawks8 gives you the clue. And try to don't move your left foot.
try to have a little bit more extension in ur followthrough.and it looks like ur trying to kill the ball..try to slow down ur backswing and then have a good solid tempo on the downswing...that should make for a more consistant swing..good luck

way off balance bro - head drops on down swing..Get some lessons. If you have a PGA tour superstore in your area, I highly recommend.

1.) First, check out Baddelay on the "Stack and Tilt" swing--I think you could easily do this.
2.) Are you getting your weight to your frontside enough?
3.) You need to keep your left ear behind the ball--even after impact--through your follow through.
Good luck.

don't drop your head on the downswing

Yea as I pointed out for the other video, really watch your head. You don't want it to drop during the downswing.

ball #1
your cutting inside your plane.
little overswing, let the club do what it is meant to do
#2
swung a little too fast, that was all, just made your head bump a little upward causing your club to rise and to hit the middlish area of the ball
#3
and yeah, wear golf shoes haha. the slip just ruined everything haha
