  • okay so i have a question. my male is ready to mate. its a double cage with a male next door. should i take the male not being bred out so the female wont be distracted?

and how would i bring the female in? im worried he might get violent with her.

    thank you for your time.

    ~Danielle

  • @danni13tifa575 I dont think it would be a problem to leave the other male in his cage. And just watch to make sure they dont fight when you put her in. I have never had it happen thought they usually just lift right away and it is over pretty quick.

  • I don't understand why on every meat bunny video there's someone telling the up-loader they hate them... I guess it makes sense if the person doesn't eat any animal product, but I can just see the people typing the comment then getting off to go eat a burger. Calves (baby cows) are cute too, and so are chicks, but I don't hear people complaining about them being fattened up to produce the next Big Mac or Chicken Nuggets. I say good for the people who have found a way to provide for themselves

  • if you raise your rabbits for meat then i hate your video, if not... BUNNIES!

  • @TheUlia11 Sorry you feel that way but they are raised for meat production not cuteness.

  • your rabbit is so cute and fat! I love your bunnies.

  • yeah i was half listening. most of the time i was staring at those cute baby bunnies!! :)

  • can you tell me what showing rabbits is?

  • @rabbitlolver3 I dont know anything about it really but it is taking your rabbit to compete in show. Just like a dog show. The rabbits get rated against a breed standard and the ones that are closest to ideal win.

  • i never can kill an eat an bun , ilove them too much

  • cute baby bunnys , maybe you should lay while they are so small a piece of a old rug into the cage, it seems they small feets can fall between the the net.

  • Do you primarily breed for meat? Or do you have some breeding stock for show rabbits?

  • @ProzacPreacher I dont do any showing and none of my rabbits are pedigree.

  • I breed for my 12 foot python

  • your videos are exellent!

  • @magdyali888 Thank you.

  • @KainanRa what type of rabbit is that?

  • @animallover6734 I think its a California Meat rabbit

  • @kainanRa your videos are exellent! You have inspired us to make our own! Thanks!, check our channel if you would like!

  • @tfb4me Thank you I will check it out.

  • Your rabbits are SO cute, and my, what a beauty! Pretty! They look incredibly healthy! But, I would ask you to stop breeding them. So many rabbits out there need homes, in the shelters. They have been abandoned :( They really have gone through what no living thing should go through (Being abandoned because of not wanting to take care of them etc.) :( Please adopt. Do you get me?

  • @lalujustice I breed these for food. None of them will end up in a shelter.

  • @KainanRa Oh okay then. I just hope you kill them in a very painless way. :)

  • I'm having trouble with my doe.I've bred her 3 times now, and she's not getting pregnant. I put her in his cage and he did his job, but 31 days later and still no babies.I thought it was the buck, so I bred her to two different bucks.31 days later and nothing.Am i doing something wrong or is it her.

  • @OkieAnimeFarmer sounds like its her

  • Congratulations, you do have some beautiful babies there.

  • if she does not lift, buy her a ticket with american airlines, she'll lift then.

  • this ist not anymal love is olny make a lot of money

  • @kalinka1905 Make money? Haha you are definitely confused. Most of the time they cost me money and sometimes I break even.

  • Can you show me how you build yor cages? thx

  • it needs would on the floor otherwise she will be in pain

  • @mmbabe321 If the floor was wood they would poop and pee on it and that would cause sores on their feet. Heavy gauge wire does not hurt their feet and there is things in the cage for them to sit on.

  • @KainanRa Those two posts seem like trolls to me.... for starters, they can't spell. secondly, they have NO CLUE what they're talking about! :) Great vid man. We're doing the exact same thing! :) Except I'm not sure if you're raising for meat. I am... I'm also enjoying the pelts! :)

  • @lalujustice I encourage it? Really??? You really believe that? If anything, I'm setting a PROPER example of how not to waste anything. The skin is VERY useful as I will be saving money by making clothes by and for myself and my family. I'm taking care of my family this way. And I will not apologize for this!

  • @4240ed Although your are setting a good example, other people might think, 'My, what a pretty coat.' And will go buy one from a fur farm where they torture the animals and skin them alive. So yes, you are encouraging it.

  • This video was posted on my birthday =)

  • Nice dis helped me a lot I wanna breed but hoping to get a male cuz I hav 2 females anyway a question how long do u leave de doe in de bucks cage to breed???/):):):)loll

  • i want to see the bunnies not the mother

  • i know that u gonna kill them later

  • You MUST NOT have that cage floor! It is cruelty, their feet cannot handle it.

  • there too cute to be slaughtered

  • @farmerz245 when rabbits breed an egg is released so they can breed any time of the year

  • 90th like :D

  • do you they breed in cycles reguarly. How amny times a year can she produce a litter?

  • Your rabbit is REALLY friendly. It must be that 'pet your rabbit all the time' logic!

  • what do you @KainanRa do with your rabbits ?

  • Hey

Great vids I am new to rabbit breeding and I am wondering how to tell if your doe is ready to breed with the buck?

I have put my doe into my bucks cage several Times but there wasn't anything happening I kept taking them out in about 30 mins and then I repeated this again in about 2 hours. I did this for 2 days.

    What could be wrong??

  • have you noticed if the californians or new zealands are any better mothers?

  • how big are your cages?

  • putting just wire can hurts your rabbits feet

  • put just wire hurts the rabbits feet

  • Okay i just got a standard rex female doe she is 2 years old she is the sweetest thing then i just got like 3 weeks ago a 2 1/2 month old american sable male buck when he is old enough he is going to breed with her to make some babies.

but what i was wondering how many pounds does a standard rex get she has the softest fur and everything she is the most sweetest rabbit in the world she probably weighs about 7 to 7 1/2 pounds maybe less but hopefully you will be able to tell me.

  • @clydester124

We breed standard rex and they should be 8-10 lbs. A good size we try to shoot for is 9 lbs. 7 1/2 sounds like a small standard, but 7 sounds more like a really obese mini rex. Crosses between standards and minis are pretty common. If your doe is not pedigree, she may be a cross. Just make sure that your buck isn't too much heavier than she is. If the buck is too big, she may have trouble having the litter because the kits will be too large. Good luck with the little ones!

  • @babygray11 well he isn't a mini rex he is a standard rex and i just found out he was a boy not a girl. and i got rid of that american sable for a older rabbit he weighs about 12lbs he is not obese they should weigh between 12 to 11 lbs when full grown. i traded my 3 month old american sable for a lionhead/stanard rex doe she is 8 months old her mother was a 8 pound lionhead and her father was a 12lb standard rex so she probably weighs in about 8to 9pound right now. she is going to deliver some

  • @babygray11 babies for me october 19th hopefully she throws some of his color and markings. but tomorrow i am getting a flemish giant doe she is 8 months old 15lbs and a sandy color she is the most sweetest rabbit and a dall she is a big puppy dog.

  • What do you feed your rabbits? Your doe looks like she has excellent flesh condition.

  • @countrybabe561 Just rabbit feed and timothy grass with some veggies and fruit once in awhile.

  • @KainanRa What kind of rabbit feed?

  • @KainanRa Can a rabbit live in a semi closed cage in a new york winter? it gets pretty cold

  • @N8mont4 That would be pretty rough on them without some kind of heat or a really well insulated pen.

  • Thank you Psalm. Tree Huggers, go pee on a bush.

  • You shud check out ny rabbitry :) Much appreciated (In my Videos)

  • my self. i would like to know how you also get there fur off once you humanly kull them i know it is simple but i just can't figure out i have watched so many video's about it and i don't understand how you do.

I clean all my cages every week 1 once a week or as needed when i have baby rattie's in the tube with the mothers sense they will be crapping aswell.

But i would like to know how you keep the smell down with the rabbits espeacially how close you live to people.

  • @pitbulllover45 Use Zix Odor Control it is amazing!!! and ventalation is a must. PLUS you have to realize these are animals and they stink.

  • okay so i have a question. what do you use to keep the smell down in their rack system you have. i am going to get 1 male and 1 female rabbit to start breeding for some snake food i know but she is getting bigger and i need some different type of food for her. i would just like to know how do you keep the smell down in their cages. and what type of rabbits only stay like around 6lbs. I am not getting any bunnies until i get home from vacation but i need a little help. and i love rabbit stew.

  • surprised you haven't gotten thumbs down from the peta retards. maybe they were too dumb to figure out that you are going to eat the babies when they get big enough

  • How did you get your rabbit so tame? I been petting and treating mine for about 2 months now and they are still skitish around me :(

  • @Twisted86 bribe them with food. LOL Some of mine do not like to be petted or handled and some dont mind. It just depends on the rabbit.

  • @KainanRa

Hmm guess I will harvest and get some new does then. Appreciate the reply :)

BTW do you go after hybrid vigor or do you just use the kits of the parents as your future stock?

  • @Twisted86 Not sure yet. I am still with my original doe's. It is almost cheaper to buy new doe's than to raise them until they are breeding age.

  • can i touch the babies at 1 weeks?

  • @dvlite123 I have not had issues with any of my other rabbits and I touch the bunnies at day one. It just depends on the doe.

  • Does breeding bunnies take experts or does the mother do everything?

Also what type of rabbit do you recommend that are about 10 pounds or less and friendly with older kids. (10 years old and older.)

Also do you recommend separating the mother from the father once they have mated, or does the father help her with anything.

I'm asking so many questions so if I get a rabbit and one happens to get pregnant, I am prepared for anything :)

  • @CrazyCrystalLuv All the parental skills are instinctual so you really only need to provide a nest box and nesting material. The males do not participate in the raising of the bunnies. It is probably best if you remove the males. Lots of breeds under ten pounds. i only have experience with New Zealands and Californians and all mine are right under ten pounds. I dont know which rabbits make better pets but I do know that you should get them young so they are used to being handled.

  • @KainanRa Okay thank you for the information :)

  • Nice video (:

I breed Mini Rex for show but I really respect that even though you raise rabbits for meat that they are very well taken care of and have a pleasant life.

  • @guineapiglove444 You eat meat, don't you? Chickens and cows and pigs are cute too, and nobody complains when people eat them. heck even some vegetables are cute too.

  • Very good, and very educational video.

  • @hermit1969 i can answer that. does eh have a nest? Does she scatter, or eat them every time she has them? If so, you have a doe with poor mothering instincts. If she has done this on three tries, time for her to go to the freezer. Some rabbits just don't make good mothers.

  • @guineapiglove444 I hope you don't eat chicken. cause if you do, you are a hypocrite. rabbit meat is the best meat you can eat. even better if you raise your own. Its not full of chemicals, unlike the meat and veggies you buy at the grocery store.

  • my rabbits usually make their nest on the day that the baby's get born.

I have even had some cases where mam makes the nest (pulls out her hair to make a nest of it) when the baby's were already born (minutes-hours? I dunno, i just know there were baby's but no hair).

Just wanted to mention that ;-)

  • When do you ween the kits?

  • @MrMelonMan100 6-8 weeks but can be done as early as 4 weeks. The longer you can keep them with the doe the bigger they will get up to about 8 weeks.

  • Realized I forgot to subscribe so I just did! I tend to breed back around 8 hrs after the first breeding, as rabbits are induced ovulators. If I don't do that I've had misses. Odd since my mom had never heard of them being induced ovulators, only bred once, and never had any problems.

Guess I just have some weird bunnies. Keep making videos! I really enjoy them.

  • @randomtrickpony I think at least one extra breeding is a good idea. I have a doe that expels the semen after the first breeding almost every time. If I only bred her twice I would not be sure which time started her ovulation. If the first one did not start it then she would only have one breeding. That why I try to breed her three or four time in a day. Thanks for subbing.

  • Your videos are awesome! What feed do you use? And how much do you feed each rabbit?

  • @yadid Thanks. I have been using Pfaus rabbit feed. The does get about a cup a day and the rest get a little less. I also feed them timothy hay and a few scraps of veggies and fruits.

  • Thanks, we all need to do more vids like this. straight to the issues at hand

  • @joeytrahan Absolutely. If you do one let me know and I can add a link to this one.

  • Can you make a video on how to cook the rabbits, and the different ways you like to make them? Thanks

  • @azdogs I will see what I can do but I am not a chef. : ) I try new recipes all the time that I find on the internet but so far my favorite is just marinate and grill it. I have also canned some rabbit meat and that makes it very tender and tasty.

  • I now have 25 chickens but I am yet to have any meat rabbits and I WANT SOME

  • @FishMan266 Try to buy some rabbit meat if you have not had any before or only had wild rabbit. If you like it you should definitely look into getting some. not too expensive and you plenty of fertilizer as well as furs and meat.

  • great info, at what age do you seperate the babies from the mother to there own cages. And I'm guessing you seperate the boys from the girls LOL.

  • @missouriprepper Normally any time after 6 weeks. The last litter Hali had I separated after 4 weeks but I could definitely tell a difference in size so I will be leaving them in until at least 6 weeks from now on. I separate the boys from the girls a couple weeks after that. 8-10 weeks and then butcher around 12 weeks.

  • I learned something new.

  • Isn't that the rabbit that ate her young?

  • @just1transfan Yes. I decided to give her one more chance and so far so good. She was a young doe when I got her and it was her first couple litters she had problems with. I am hoping she has now figured it all out now. Fingers crossed.

  • Great video. Thanks for the info.

  • Great info! Thank you for sharing! i look forward to getting my first batch this summer.

  • great tip about when you put them in the warm water to be sure to keep their heads above, lol. I would like to know what you do about ear mites, I occasionally get them on my rabbits and know there are lots of remedies for them but would like to know your preferred treatment.

  • @outofworkbum Good to hear from you. I have not gotten any ear mites so far but I have heard that mineral oil is the non medicine treatment. I have also read that the Ivermectin works on rabbits and can be bought at feed stores. I hope I dont have to find out anytime soon.

  • GIMME SOME MILK!!! LOL

  • Good Information.

  • My second bunny had kits yesterday and she had 5. A few hours later we went out and checked on them. We found one that was dead. The first litter we had are all doing great they are 2 weeks old. We should be having another litter in a week if all went well with the third doe.

  • always solid info ! ...thank you

  • Thanks for all the good information! Couldn't have made this video at a better time, my doe is expected to kindle her first litter in 8 days and i'm so nervous! I shall keep in mind all of your advice :)

  • @TeaganSocia Congrats hope all goes well.
