This is over 2 years old. 99% of all youtube videos are useless drivel made with (as this was) a 10 dollar webcam. If I could still access this account, i'd remove the video simply so I stop getting emails about a 2+ year old video. Not only is that TV nowhere near my computer (now running 2 x 24", 1x 22", and a 21" Wacom Cintiq instead. Still ultra geek), but I haven't used the little pen since I made the video. I no longer have a Wii or any Wiimotes. Thanks for watching. Hahaha.

Umm is your 42" inch LCD screen a hard surface or a soft surface? I'm not sure using a pen on a LCD screen is a good Idea.... LOL maybe if it was retrofitted with a hard acryllic cover then it would be good... Otherwise your just damaging the Liquid Crystal underneath.

@xcnw15 if the tracking is not continuous, most probably it is because of the IR pen that you have or the Wiimote is placed too far away from the screen. You will need to get a optimum tracking utilization. For more information, you can search for the Smoothboard User Guide

@ChimeraProd Just The Remote, the I.R camera is in the wiimote&they communicate via bluetooth,so u just connect ur wiimote 2 ur PC like any other bluetooth device e.g. joystick (its picked up as a HID, human interface device), youll need a bluetooth stack, something like Bluesolie and a bluetooth usb dongle which are like £5 on play and come with the software! its actually reall easy to connect the wiimote and get software reading the data, its just using it thats a problem...

you dont need to touch the screen technically....but yes you can if you are not careful thats why the rear projection method is probably the best...if you can afford the upkeep of the projector....i say wait till multitouch comes out in the main stream ie windows 7

What did u you do power the pen, and what IR LED did u use. the pen I made doesnt reflect enough light to the Wiimote. the pen is very directional. if I'm not pointint it directly at the Wiimote, the wiimote doesnt see it

I put a AA battery in the marker. It fit perfect.

Also I get my IR led's from radio shack or buy tons in bulk off ebay for cheap.

The radio shack part number is 276-143

they are High-Output 5mm IR LED's.

They can take a voltage of up to 1.6V and the AA battery is 1.5 so it works out.

You just need the wiimote pointing at an angle it can see the entire screen really well and then don't get your hand in the way of the wiimote and the IR pen tip. Calibration must also be right on and it should be fine. I have used it on every screen I have including my 7" eee, so should be accurate as long as the wiimote can see the ir beam and the calibration is good.
