they cant eat out of water,notice how most aquatic turtles grabs the food with their mouths and dashes back to the water...This is because aquatic turtles dont have salivia glands, so water helps them swallow... Awesome vid though :D

turtles dont need to eat inside water ppl.... they can eat outside of water but turtles dont produce their own salival ike us so they need a bit of water so they can swallow but dont need to be sumerged in water to eat

Kikyo361: Are you feeding them the correct food? Don't panic. 1st off, turtles need time to adjust before eating comfortably in a new home. 2nd, new turtles also don't like you watching them eat. Lastly, how old are they? Hatchlings live off the nutrients from their shell for a while. Yours may not be of the age to eat independently yet! ;)

@res0408 Leave your hand there for a little bit at a time, gradually for longer periods... They will be scared a little bit but after a while they will see it's no danger and come out. (But make sure to keep your and perfectly still) work it gradually. But as res0408 said, each turtle has their own personality. Some gain trust slower then others, some just never gain it. But whatever you do make sure to do it slow and gradually.
