Either as in the expression "in the spirit of (something)" or, perhaps more likely, something metaphysical, akin to The Holy Ghost (of the Christian Trinity).

Late one night in 2008 I was layin on a mattress in a little hut at the top of a collapsed volcano in Indonesia. I was travelling alone and that night I was lost on weed and mushrooms. I listened to this album on my ipod, in the dark, and I've never been so emerged by a piece of music. Like walking around in a landscape painted by these sounds - and believe me; it's not a pretty picture.

All the while knowing that 75,000 years ago that very volcano caused a worldwide volcanic winter.

They played this song at DOA, vocalist was wrapped in rotten flesh, and held a vial of lamb's blood, after the song he came down from the stage to stain everyone who stood in the front with that blood. Now I can say, that's was BLOODY awesome.

I am not knocking this music by any stretch, I like the music, but why do they often purposely record in bad quality? I am a drummer, and I would love to ACTUALLY hear the drums, as I bet its really awesome. sweden has without a doubt the most really good and true BM bands, since many years now. consistent quality, especially in the medieval, orthodox department, but also in nature-tributing BM. France, greece, usa and italy have some aswell.norway is pretty weak nowadays.
