  • "Easy comprehensability?" Millions of people can recite this psalm by heart without having comprehended it. Maybe 'comprehending' isn't what it used to be. How do people know what they have not experienced?

To think that the first book published on this continent was the original lyrics composed by the people of the Massachussetts Bay colony, which they used in their worship services.

That blows me away. This melody seemed to go with it.

  • YouTube is awesome! I was just reading these opening lines in a book for my U.S. History class, and I wondered if I could find a recording online. Thanks for the recording, sir. It's quite beautiful. All the book says about it is: "a crude system of rhyme...necessitated a certain disrespect for easy comprehensibility."

  • Beautifully composed, played, and especially beauifully sing.
