  • @llIISSSSllII Burning of the midnight lamp - jimi hendrix

  • nice hendrix sound!

  • Oh yeah, tabs?

  • NIce playing dude, excellent,

  • what the fuckin mod is that?

  • good video

  • The best demo of the fuzz face on youtube!

  • bist du auch ein hendrix fan? cool ich auch und dein viedeo ist auch cool danke! :-)

  • Is the mod something like the Foxrox Wah Retrofit? Thanks. Sound is great!

  • @guitarmikkel Yes, and red fasel inductor is inside!!

  • cool!!

  • Why would you want emulate someone else's sound? make your own, and you'll be much happier with it overall.

  • omfg omfg omfg!!!

dude can you please tell me where you learned hear my train a coming???

    its such a awesome song!!

    nice playing

  • @justcrappy1 from the recording?

  • @2dum2getsocialism never mind...

  • what is the mod on your wah?

  • damn that sounds fucking sexy haha

  • hey really nice man! really! but it seems your not getting enough Wah outta that Vox, do you have the setting low on it? i dont use a Vox wah i use an old Morley Wah and i get a great wah wah outta that.

  • I'm so confused ... Would you help me?? I don't know if I wanna get an overdrive or a fuzz

  • @marcosviv

    overdrive=marshall 1959 slp

    fuzz=fuzz face

If do you have an tube amp, don't you get overdrive.

  • @JimilalaHendrix Wait a minute. Sorry, but I don't understand. I have an '89 Fender Strat, a VOX Wah lke yours. My amp is a Marshall G80R CD, its a transistors amp, and I use the distortion that it's got. It's a good amp, but I tend to leave the Wah ON to play because I like the crunch that it adds to the sound.

What I'm trayin to say is that I can't find the Hendrix tone

  • @marcosviv

Oh yes, I'm sorry. You need to buy a tube amp, and thats volume use all the way. This is best overdrive tone. Jimi use the Marshall jmp 100, and use the volume pot full. If do you buy an overdrive, the tone isn't that. The tube amp is the solution. can not be it replaced!

  • @JimilalaHendrix Yeah, I see what you mean, and by the way, I'm from Argentina so if you speak spanish we can save the english translation!! haha. I know that tube amps can't be replaced but my Marshall amp sounds great and I don't have the money to get a jmp 100!! So, for now, Im gonna have to setle wit what I've got

  • @marcosviv

Sorry, but i can't help you. I use tube amp (Mrashall 1959 slp), fuzz face and vox wah. This setup is the best Hendrixs tone.

I don't know what is the solution for you.

  • @JimilalaHendrix

Yes, most of the time a simple setup will always give the best tone. Great playing, your really got Jimi's vibe down. Have you ever used an Octavio, like what Hendrix used specially with Band of Gypsys? If so, where do you put Octavio in the pedal chain and where in the pedal chain would you the univibe pedal?

  • @marcosviv Fuzz Face = Transistors.

watch?v=0EqrQPbOhDo -> Watch that video if you have probs getting that sound.

But if you have a tube amp try the Ibanez Tube Screamer!

  • @1212surface

This Wah pedal is a Vox v847 mod to Vintage Italian V846 . And it has the one more modification: "Foxrox Wah Retrofit" Look for it on the web!

  • O by the way if u gonna hear a fuzz played through an LP look up James Gang Stop/Your Gonna Need Me. The second best fuzz that I have ever heard!

  • What are the knobs set at?

  • @CacheSeaker

    Fuzz: full

    Volume: 3/4

  • It sounds good, but why soes every video I see with a fuzz face have to be played through a strat. Id like to hear it through a les paul, anyone know how it sounds?

  • Bridge Pickup: Texas Special™ Single-Coil Bridge Pickup

Middle Pickup: Texas Special™ Single-Coil Middle Pickup

Neck Pickup: Texas Special™ Single-Coil Neck Pickup

  • Oh my goodness, the Power to Love part of the video got me. I must buy a fuzz face.

  • Nice especially like Burning of the Midnight Lamp ;)

  • @harkkam

    Lar/Mar PPIMV Mod

But, if you have a 1969 JMP 100, DON'T MAKE MOD! There is the best, as it was made!

  • great tone with the wah before the fuzz. One problem I find when dealing with fuzzes is that they generally sound good alone, but when you play with a band it gets hard to hear them. That may be the reason for many guys turn their fuzz faces with the volume knob all the way up. I own the dunlop JH-F1too, I think it has a very good fuzz tone.

  • @rafasounds2010

Yeah I agree with you. In a live show it almost loses its character or definition.

  • @pastyourhorizon this may just be the magic about fuzzes - making them sound good and learning how to control them. I'm still half way through. The more I learn about my fuzz face and the more I learn to control it, the more I like it.

  • @rafasounds2010

Mhmm.My first fuzz pedal was a Big Muff Pi, which I got when I first started playing. Eventually I sold that pedal because I didn't like it and was more interested in a more mellow sort of fuzz(if that makes any sense), like a Keeley Fuzzhead.Went with the Analogman Sunface BC-108 and I use that for songs such as Crossroads. It doesn't exactly do the Hendrix sort of sound like the Fuzz Face so I'm planning on getting a fuzz face pretty soon so I can have both pedals on my board.

  • @pastyourhorizon didnt know the big muff sounds different from a fuzz face. I know what you mean by mellow fuzz. My first fuzz was a boss fz-5, which sounded terrible, too thin, almost like a cheap distortion. And it was digital - which means no real fuzz circutry. I got fed up of this fuzz and bought the dunlop jh-f1. Yea, you are right - I think it does pretty well in the hendrix type of thing, but as someone said, its not the "hendrix-in-a-box" kinda thing. One must learn how to use it.

  • @pastyourhorizon talking about mellow fuzztone, I think the dunlop fh-j1 is exactly about this. Its thick and full even in the bridge pickup, as a good fuzz face should be. Ive realized from hendrix videos that sometimes his tone sounded real bassy, and then you'd look at his pickup switch and it would be in the bridge. Then I thought "thats how a good fuzz should work", and went about it. But again, its a matter of gear too. The amp factor is very determinant in the tone of a fuzzface.

  • which pickup were you using in this demo?

  • Damn. This is great. Great playing. Great tone. I guess I'm surprised you're able to get so many tones so close to Hendrix with just 2 pedals. Ha! Do you think a Germanium transistor can come close to this Silicon sound, assuming this is a BC-108?

  • @center2cents JH F1 has a great tone (BC-108), but the MJM London Fuzz is the best for me! It has new old stock Germanium transistor. London Fuzz is a masterpiece. Look for it on my channel!

  • @JimilalaHendrix Yes! I was hoping you'd say this because before I saw your vid, I'd just ordered a Ge Fuzz and almost regretted it! lol Watched your MJM vid....very nice. Your Hendrix sounds great.......rock on.

  • nice...try the fuzz first in the chain

  • awesome playing, what did you do to mod the vox v847 ?

  • @brimm13 This Wah pedal is a Vox v847 mod to Vintage Italian V846 . (www003.upp.so-net.ne.jp/kazuhee/ewahmod1R.htm). And it has the one more modification: "Foxrox Wah Retrofit" Look for it on the web!

  • Thanks Leo!

  • Very compliments. Your demo is very strong. great sound very Jimi Hendrix.

  • awesome demo, I am waiting on my hendrix fuzz face. The vox wah compliments it so nicely!

  • Thanks!
