  • If you want a install-module, just send a message ;).

  • On the quest for spiritual evolution?Want something different than the same old information about it everywhere?mind reading, astral projection, telekinesis, it is all real. The revolution from within, THE-HIDDEN-SPIRITdotCOM

  • come hai istallato elive?

  • elive is a pretty distro, i chose mint, and added the KDE 4.4 GUI earlier very nice looking OS i have *said in a yoda voice apparently*

  • I love e17 but it needs a bit more polishing. For now I'll stick with fluxbox.

  • Everyone has different specs hardware. We can't say is good for you..

But.. You buy a hardware, often so expencive, and you can use it only with windows.. It 's ok for you ? It's not linux that suck man.. Is products you bought.. Because it hasn't a good software\driver support..

  • too bad this distro completely sucks if you have decent specs its nothing but trouble

  • Oh and almost forgot - WINE still have a problems with running WOW properly (mostly sound and graphic effects problems) so how can you recommend it for such a newbie as sekonpr!

  • No it doesn't.

WoW runs perfectly on WINE, especially if you use gxApi "OpenGL"

  • ...linux, which is definetly not a toy and requires to get know about its philosophy, terminology, pros and cons. Propaganda such as "Ubuntu is for newbies" brings a lot of new linux users but also hudge masses of sworn enemys because misunderstanding and not full infromations.

  • @FrostyRevolution, BrokenHorn90

How can you be such unresponsible! sekonepr clearly said that he's a newbie in computers and you tell him that because of WINEhe can install linux straight away?? Migration from windows to linux is a serious decision especially for laymans such as sekonepr! He probably get lost after system instalation because he didnt even find "how the f*ck to install a program in this sh*t"! So first of all you should say that ELIVE is mostly a toy which requires installing

  • One should mention that ELIVE costs money.

not much - from 5$ up to anything - but you will need a PAYPAL account to get it done.

the last fact is a problem for me, therefore no elive..

  • The video show 0.5 unstable version.

    So old.. :D

The 1.0 stable now is sold, from 5 €.

    The test version is free.

If the unstable version is good for your system, you can install it, and when the the next stable version is finished, just upgrade.

You prefer use 5 € for a Cheeseburgher and a Coke, or for a Linux operating system, with nice and intuituve graphics.. Is your choice ! :D

    Have a good day.

  • it actually doens't really cost - get the unstable version. or choose to be cool and give the guy who spends time making this a couple of bucks. It's still choice. at first I did feel a little odd about that especially since this is linux - but design is time consuming, and design + programming even more so. I gave him 12 euros - maybe enough for a nice lunch. well worth it.

  • I'd rather use Arch Linux and do the same (E17 + Compiz) for free, and enjoy the advantages of Arch.

  • Where Did you get that background?

  • im just a 16 year old who's not good in computers. So can any of u guys send me a message on how to have Elive and WindowsVista running in my computer?? its that i need Windows to play my World of Warcraft.. XD

  • You can run WOW through "Wine" a Windows Emulator for linux

  • Word. WINE is a magical beast =O

  • What would I do without wine? Not only does it run programs for windows, it also can use windows drivers.

  • wertw

  • Do you have a good graphics card;]

  • definitely NO you can read on elivecd(DOT)org Minimum Requirements: The minimum hardware for running Elive is a 100 Mhz CPU and 64 MB of RAM, but the minimum recommended hardware is 300 Mhz and 128 Mb of RAM. You don't need any special graphic card or 3D acceleration to run Elive.

  • aha

  • hey, nice vid, I love Elive but where did you get that skin and the nice rocker-babe wallpaper?

  • best part of elive to me is that it comes with on the disc the proprietary drivers for NV and ATI and will install them with the system if you install. Definitely beats having to "hack" your system on ubuntu to get the same drivers(and yes I know that is not that hard for us linux guys, but for windows guys... that aren't the best with computers... well you get the point)

  • mother fucker begger, debian says that all debian based are open-source. Anyway it is not illegal if you find it on torrent and download it because the social agreement of debian says that.

  • I've used elive 1.0, it's pretty, faster and light, the big problem is that the owner asks for donations every time you want download something important like OO.o, because its a feature of the so called "bonus disks". It's not so easy to use like KDE, Gnome or XFCE, but their are working good.

  • la7sombra, either Windows XP Pro, or whichever flavour of Linux floats your boat. It all depends on what your requirements are. If you aren't using it for games, you'll get better benchmarks with it running Linux. If you're running a server: Linux. If you're running anything that requires Microsoft compatibility: XP Pro. Don't waste your time with Vista. It'll just hog all your resources.

  • I have a dual opteron dual core mounted on a Tyan thunder Mobo. I was wondering what u gays reccomend for this machine. Thanx

    The specs:

    Tyan hunder - 2 Opteron 875

    ATI 1950 xpro

    2 gb Registered Ram

    2 320 gb sata HD

  • Wel I have 3 wives, do you think i need another one?

  • if i get linux do i lose my windows vista? or can i swich to linux and vista when ever i want

  • I don't know if Vista restricts multiple boot partitions, or drives (XP doesn't).

You could install Linux on a separate physical hard drive; and manually switch over to whichever drive you want to boot from.

  • It is possible. I have both Vista(installed first), xp and linux and I can switch freely. Look for some tutorials on the internet.

  • licnep1, it's good to know that it's possible. Unfortunately, I'll be giving Vista as wide a berth as Windows ME. In fact, it seems that ME was more successful than Vista is. I work with a couple of ex-Microsoft boobs, who were on Vista projects, but let go with hordes of others... simply because Vista's a big flop! It's wraught with problems; and not making Uncle Bill any money.

XP & Linux for me, m8!

  • You're right, Vista sucks!

I just have it because it was "sold" with the pc, but I hate it. When I use it, it reboots without warnings to install some upgrades...programs never work...once i was burning a CD and a message appeared: "reboot in 30 sec." you couldn't click anything! and I lost a CD!

In many years, with the number of developers they have, this is the "WOW" they came up with? a slower and fatter OS, and (if you pay more) a stupid 3d windows switch effect!!??

  • hey dude, can u post this wallpapers in video?

  • I'd love to have that wallpaper! looks sweet

  • I just found elive :D! I'm downloading the distro right now....also, ya, it comes with enlightenment, unlike ubuntu and openSuSe that use beryl, the ram eater.

  • Beryl no necesita mucha ram para ejecutarse, ni tampoco es el gestor de escritorio de Ubuntu por defecto, es sólo un programa "eye candy". Ubuntu está en versiones con Gnome, KDE o XFCE.

  • Your retarded... NO! ITS ELIVE!!!

  • is this windows?

  • Haha, you have problems dude

  • Serious problems, mentally. Do you really think that Microfucking Windows could ever ever do something like that? That's Enlightenment. Probably he's running the ELive CD. Run it Live and remember it is much slower than a normal OS since it is working from a CD. You can install it if you like it... and set yourself free from fucking Micro$oft.

  • How can I get thoose wallpapers?

  • @juannicolas

    Yep, that's e17

  • Is that enlightenment???

  • Yes its the new enlightenment. Runs nicely too. I gave to his project just because hes into making it a better platform. But as many Linux Heads know you can use This version of E on any Debian Distro as of late. But I applaud the effort.
