how people can dispute that led zeppelin are one of the best bands ever i don't know. Each of them were and are fantastic at what they did/do and they just fit each other so well
OOOOOH YEah!!,I love this kind of free unstructured musical partnership they called a band.I love the lead Drums! Every drummer in the world would love to have the power Bonham had on the whole band. It is how it should be.Being creative on the fly like this,Requires a strong, sound, drummer. That knows when to start changing up,Like leaving clues to when and how it is going to go.
When I listen to Led Zeppelin, I cannot judge them... rather, they judge me. Led Zeppelin tells me what is good, what is beauty, what is unequivocal perfection.
@Juviex Similar, but I don't think Page has the tone knobs all the way down. He's using Hiwatt amps for the live performance here (until 71, he primarily used Hiwatt live).
I saw zep live 3 times, 72/75/77(72 by far the best). Unfortunately they were quite sloppy sometimes live, probably too loaded, but this is the best live performance I've ever seen of them or anyone else.
i hate it when people say that jimmy page was nothing conmpared to john bohnam well he frikin wrote 90 percent of there stuff hes the main creator but john b and jpj both rock though there one of the best but led zeppelin needs each member eqauly
@LedWhisky69 Really some people need to realize Zeppelin was never about a following everything to script or formula. This song is a blue print of what zeppelin was about!
@ubernerd35 The whole band was batter live (when not shitfaced). In fact they were so much better live one wonders why they were ever obliged to bother with a studio.
I guess anything that has to be sold requires packaging...
I'm sick and tired of hearing comparisons to Justin Beiber; he's a non-issue and shouldn't even be brought up in the context of comparison to the greatest rock and roll band ever to grace the earth....
its amazing to think that the top priced tickets for this concert were about 25 shillings in old money ,or £ 1 . 25 now, about $ 2., which wasnt really expensive at the time. now you have to pay £20 to £ 30 for at best average stuff. that night was 75 pence ,or 17 shillings well spent I think.
Dont think it ever got any better... beyond epic last few minutes are just insane I actuially have the DVD but couldnt preventr myself watching it here Thank you but please stop uploading epic Zep or I'm going to run out of download time
Don't just watch this song - watch their whole RAH performance. I have this, knebworth, MSG, and some California outdoor concert on DVD and this was by FAR my favorite!
one of the best zep's performances together with the DVD "the song remains the same" but the difference between them is robert plant here he is very crazy ( in my opinion) in the other he is most calm but anyway the two concerts are very good
You know what would awesome is that if they played every song, that they ever made, in this form and time of their band because these guys seemed to be at their best in this concert. Not saying that their concerts aren't great, they're fantastic but this one is amazing!! I could be wrong though
@TheSuperEupher No band this good could ever make it in today's music business...(hell, I don't know if the young 'uns today have the attention span to even absorb something as epic as this.)
the holmes here got more ass than the ladies restroom @gene simmons and wilt chamberlins homes combined- jimmys tone sounds like a jet rampin up for take off- this is truly an epic performance and one they are no doubt proud of if they could only remember it. JPJ is one of the most underated muti-instrument performers-the dudes got a solid bounce and smokin rhythm! how could ya not with animal on the skins behind ya? it is a very good DVD- pick it up.
i wrote my graduation paper about them. there was a time when i knew every note in every song. unfortunatly i've stop listening to them a few years back. but still, i'll never forgive God for not putting me in this world in 1970's :D
