lol don't look at that. This game is on a very old engine,and you need a very good PC to run it on high settings. I should be able to run it on high, but I can't. Lucky this game still achieves it's great atmhosthere without super graphics.

yes, i have only experienced one crash so far, but was really pissed to have to go back to the beginning, as my saves werent compatible with the patch. i also had to do this for the first patch, so i have only played about 10 hours of game after playing it for about 25 hours.

i do have one secondary mission again, that wont end, but its a different one to the others i had last time. hopefully it will just be this one.

next patch maybe get it just right?

have you finished this game yet? i am stuck at the army warehouses. my primary obj. has suddenly gone back to an old objective, back at yantar, and i dont know where to go now. i just went to get the transmission from the lost merc squad, killed the bloodsucker, and now it says i must go to yantar and go to the roof of the hangar with the stalker, to help hold off the zombies while they fix the antenna's, or something.

i did this hours ago, so why is it coming back now?

could anyone tell me if there is another patch planned?

i cant seem to play for an hour now without a crash to desktop. i have a PDA FULL of secondary objectives that i have finished but just wont end and give me the reward for, and i have 2 camps to "hold point until help arrives" and no-one ever comes (one of which is stopping me from going back to agroprom because im now in freedom and duty kill me), and when i ask for a new secondary mission the game just crashes to desktop everytime.

Its the best game , if they could release patch with half of bugs fixes. Then - its would be awesome. Now can only say 9.3/10 for bugs (ONLY). When i play shoc , i think it was about 9.8/10. Still now know every thing in SOC so playing only CS. Still , CS is more larger than all SOC. Specially Red forest and Swamps.

i havent gotten to red forest yet, i had to begin again after last patch. i have just gotten to the garbage again, but this time i didnt join the loners, so the bandits didnt automatically attack me. but i still havent been mugged by the bandits, which i know should have happened, and i have only seen one bug fixed and that was to hold the position at the entrance to the garbage from cordon. i have already had the game crash twice, so i think i am gonna have to wait till its a bit more fixed

and please tell me how you got the crosshair to stay off? i turn it off, but as soon as i switch to pistol it comes back. if i load into a new area it comes back. and if i go inot my inventory and switch from one secondary weapon to another it comes back. it is one of the ugliest crosshairs i have seen in a recent game, and i prefer games without them anyway, as it is too easy when you have one

but another glitch is that the dynaic music that plays when you get into a fight sometimes doesnt stop playing after the fight, and running around from place to place with such dramatic music playing is really annoying

i have also just downloaded the SECOND patch (two patches within a week of release shows how bugged this game is), and now i have to go right back to the start, as it wont recognise my savegames.

in most places this game is far superior to the first one, but there are also far more glitches.

i have to play for about 10 hours now, to find out if the patch has fixed the crashes and bugs i had encountered.

the first few hours of the game work quite well, bugs start after a few hrs

how come this is the first 25 minutes, yet i have been playing for a couple hours now, and have not come across the fight at this tower at all.

and also, can someone help me. im getting pissed off. this game is nowhere near as good as stalker was, and i am ready for throwing it away;

i have gotten to the cordon, and sidorovich says that i have to be careful of the military. i take 5 steps and then they cut me down.

first: i could use about 5hours in the swamp alone. it depends on what you do. if you rush then surely you could make it in about 20min.

secound: the reason you die is because you don't think. what do you do if someone sits with an m60 and shoots at you? you hide behind cover until they stop shooting! then run for it... its plenty of rocks around there!

if you want to talk about it realistically, there is no way that an LMG would be that accurate from that distance, AND shoot you through a tree.

the swamp level design is great, but at the start there are too many bandits, and you are way too weak.

i beat the first game nicely on the veteran difficulty, but i was ready for lowering that for this game when the patch came out.

the fact that they had a patch BEFORE the game was even out is a BAAAAAAAD sign. the original wasnt nearly so glitchy

shows what a bad move it was mving from THQ to deep silver. THQ let them work till the game was as finished as it could be, it seems that deep silver just wanted the easy money from a well top selling sequel, and thats all.

while i had many complaints about the game, i do admit that once you get past the first 30 mins or so, and get into the proper faction war, it does get a lot better.

and when under fire from an LMG, the best thing to do is run, not hide in cover, as you will get stuck there

In my opinion this combat music is a good idea. It replaces the ability to sense dangers- that's something you don't have in a video game.

This can be seen very good at 4:52/4:53, where the music begins just a sec BEFORE the bandits reopen fire.

I can hardly wait for this. :) it looks very great and only has very very very minor annoying things to it. to me that is. I dislike the facts such as the iron sight aiming was removed from the pistol and the battle music is horrendous... the interlude to it is great though, heard around 3:00 in this video i think. anyhow. STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl was already better than Crysis. Crysis had crap gameplay. It was basicaly only a huge benchmarking game. thats about it. It talked about open environments, but it was linear progression the entire time. Not only that but you start off with a suit that lets you have all of it's abilities right from the start... i stopped carring about playing that game an hour into it!

Clear Sky is going to OWN! I hope it's not as buggy as the first STALKER release...
