hey bro, what is CAP? im confused. lol. im just a stupid civilian...for now!!!!!!!graduate in 2 years, either goin air force for CCT, or usmc. im gonna have to get PRK so that is the problem. i have to wait a year before CCT gets me a waiver so... but what is CAP?
Civil Air Patrol, usaf auxilary! it compleatly rocks along wit classes like this u get encampments, learn how to fly powered planes and gliders. It rocks so much!
I was in it for afew years and we never had this opertunity. I liked the program when we were being trained by REAL soldiers, but the program got boring when our COs went to Iraq. The progam was fun, but I would rather be a member of the army or usmc. Since Im 20 haha.
Hey CaptainAmerica, go for it! If you think you have what it takes to make it in the USAF special tactics world, go for it! CAP will never come close to that.
aight, well, ive been thinking about it, and i think it would be good to start out as a ground pounder in the USMC. from there I can always advance into MARSOC (even though its not as cool as CCT Lol) but yeah, ive always had a fascination with storming off a landing craft (AAV nowaday or LCAC) and taking a beachhead. ive like the idea ever since my dad told me stories (he was a boat officer and ropped marines off on many occasions) and he told me about how gung ho they were, so yeah. well see:)
I definatly respect that. You'll have some really amazing experiences in the military. You'll do so many things that you never could in CAP, enjoy yourself :)
Isnt cap like something to get you accustomed to airforce routines or is it boyscout bullshit?? I wanna be a pj in the future would this be a waste of time??
Find a CAP Squadron near you, and see for yourself. My daughter started two years ago, and just made 2LT before leaving today for this years PJOC. The training she has received while in CAP has been great. Opportunities are everywhere, and the scholarships available to those who achieve upper ranks, well, WOW!
@lukesimianer Definitely not boyscouts. The Civil Air Patrol is a great choice if you want to be in the Military. They are serious about routine and rules. It will not be a waste, if you have not joined already, go ahead and do it. You will not regret it.
@WR3STL3 If you're still in high school, I think what you mean is JROTC. The answer is no, you don't have to be in ROTC or JROTC to be in the Civil Air Patrol.
When I was in USAFAUX, back during peacetime (96-99), we never even heard of this course, much less got a shot at taking it. It's good to see the organization moving forward into wartime service.
Please edit the text in your video by removing the word "jumper" from the phrase "Pararescue Jumper Orientation Course", and by replacing "parajumper" with Pararescueman/men. NOWHERE in the Pararescue or PJOC world will you EVER find a single occurance of the phrase "parajumper" or Pararescue Jumper.
So in order to go to this you need to be at least an Airman Basic and have completed one encampment?

@bitmp44 I decided not to go, I have Hawk Mt. and Staff at MIWG Basic, and I thought it would be too many activities for one summer. Maybe next year.

Second "PJ" video I have seen w/ a few women in it. Women are not allowed to become PJ's which definitely contradicts this video.
