  • That bullhead rail is probably rather second-hand by now; I was surprised to still see it in situ

  • Bullhead rail has been on the way out for at least 30 years - but it's still here. They have lots on the Mid Hants line.

  • Great Video, 5 Stars! Thats me at 0:26!

  • Youtube is so slow at night that I have great difficulty getting to 0.26!

  • Ah now I see you.

  • So did I speek to you then, at Windsor?

  • Possibly. I can only see you from behind in the video so I can't be sure.

  • From Hither Green accident report:

The train which actually derailed was fitted with a special suspension to limit sway of the bodies due to tight clearances on tunnels on its route on the TonbridgeHastings line, and this caused very high wheel forces at track irregularities; this may be the reason why this particular train (rather than the trains immediately previous) derailed.

  • That is to say - history repeats itself.

  • Hi

Bit of shambles I think.I saw the dmu top and tailed passing through Mottingham on Sat 10/10/09.I think the 73s then were 212 and 213.One yellow the other GBrf.

    Thanks for posting Regards Concretejockey.

  • and you would of thought that they had learned a lesson from when a 450 derailed in may? NOTWORK FAIL STRIKES AGAIN

  • bloody NR failing again. DAMMIT. ta for sharing

  • Eton Rifles = Who gets fired?

Personally I don't think anyone should be fired, but Help For Hero's GBRF and Hastings Deisels (along with its passengers) should be compensated by Network Rail. I wanted to see this Tonight at Tonbridge, but my friend who was on the train told us what had happened. Congratulations Network Rail

  • If the Thumper had gone into the side of a train on the adjacent platform the results could have been bad.

  • Its Not GBRF/UKRailtours fault, its Network Rail for not learning that a Third derailment would happen, and Luckly the Thumper is OK and has no damage, Network rail need to think about there answer to mr saftey

  • They probably didn't count on such a heavy load using the track. If it had come in on the other platform there would have been no problem.

The signal man can't have known that there was problem with the track on that platform.

  • The Signall man had no idea, it was the Engineers at netwrok rail who is to blame, they should have had it repaired a long time ago

  • @class377matt , i work for network rail as a patrolman and what happened here is gauge spread which was caused by the timber sleeps being knackered which house the bullhead chairs which hold the rails, too many of these and you don't get your 1432-1435 ( four foot gauge) and the road spreads and you get one on the floor!, this is due to PRIVITISATION, RUNNING ON CLAPPED OUT TRACK, THEY ARE CUTTING PWAY STAFF AND YOU WILL SEE ANOTHER CLAPHAM OR POTTERS BAR SOON!!!!
