Sure it saves money, but that's not why I use this stuff. The older ways of shaving are just better. This is equipment that wasn't "engineered" by the marketing department.
Hey great vid, im new at wetshaving and im pruchasing my gear, for now ive got a beautifull muhle r89 safety razor, a sample pack of blades, and some mitchell's wool fat soap, so im moving forward to the next step: getting a shaving brush, i'd prefer fan shape brushes, and i love the shape and the size of your rooney, i wonder if you can tell me the exact model of your brush i really like it..thanks
im a fan of wetshaving and your so right i cant believe i used gillette products the prices are ridiculous now i use a van der hagen soap and a boar brush right now my badger is on the way and im lookin for a good merkur razor
@dave997 Not really. The razor that you see first in this video is called a "safety Razor." The older style razors are called straight edge, and they are more dangerous. Safety razors aren't as dangerous by a long shot. You should still be careful, but don't worry about danger too much. Watch some videos about how to use them.
Antique stores are another good place for old fashion razors. That's where I got my Gillette Aristocrat butterfly opening 1940'ish one that does very good for $3. Hard to beat them blades for 15cents each.

@Drmikekuna - Did you write out a cue card with a list of talking points in advance?
I shaved with my Merkur today. But the best way to shave is, of course, with a straight razor. Preferably a vintage one.

@johnnytastetest
I think about the topic and plan out what I want to say, but no cue cards.
