In terms of cancer, the cancer inducing agent in cigarettes is benzanthracene. This chemical is created as a result of burning carbon. All organic matter has carbon including marijuana. Any dried and shredded plant that you smoke will have virtually the exact same tarring effect and cancer carcinogens.

As far as I know, there haven't been any studies on the long term, mass inhalation of PG or VG. I do smoke an ecig and use VG but there is still a possibility of adverse side effects from long term use beyond those caused by nicotine.

I've done the research and have done a report for the government on it, comparing it to a cigarette. It is a MUCH SAFER alternative to an actual cigarette. There are over 4000 chemicals in a regular cigarette, with many of them being highly carcinogenic. The e-cigarette has 4 ingredients, or 5 if you add flavor to it. In terms of cancer, the cancer inducing agent in cigarettes is benzanthracene. This chemical is created as a result of burning carbon. All organic matter has carbon including marijuana. Any dried and shredded plant that you smoke will have virtually the exact same tarring effect and cancer carcinogens.

The chemical that results from burning carbon you're worried about does not apply here. The carcinogens in ecigs are only those inherently in nicotine, which is comparable to a cup of coffee.

The e-cigarette does not burn the liquid nicotine mixture, rather, it vaporizes it, heating it enough to become a warm mist, but not enough to create smoke.
My mother owns one, she says it's better than smoking cigarettes, and she has been smoking cigarettes for over 60 years.

As far as I know, there haven't been any studies on the long term, mass inhalation of PG or VG. I do smoke an ecig and use VG but there is still a possibility of adverse side effects from long term use beyond those caused by nicotine.

The difference between them is that nobody smokes a pack of fuckin joints a day, so of course cig smokers are going to get cancer faster with all that ridiculous incessant smoking. Repetitive use can be harmful (blood vessel/capilary constriction and raised heart rates) but there are no carcinogenic effects. As far as I know, no one has found any carcinogens in PG or VG though only minimal testing has been done. It's safe for inhalers and fog machines but inhalation at the level of cigarettes is untested...still, safe so far > unsafe.

She can walk up the stairs as much as she wants without getting winded. She has had to smoke regular cigs when she's out of liquid, and her lung capacity is worse when she does. It also smells a little better than a cigarette. It's also much cheaper than cigarettes.

I had 3 friends die from alchohol and pill abuse and would never promote drug use. @flightestman Small point, but in most cases an ecig does no vaporize tobacco. It is often a nicotine (the addictive ingredient found in tobacco) dissolved in propylene glycol (A food additive) along with a few other chemicals.
Nicotine by itself isn't all that bad. Propylene Glycol is perfectly safe for human consumption.
The long term effects are not known due to it being a fairly new product. But logic dictates due to not containing 4000 harmful chemicals it is safer.

Don't trust alternatives to organic vices such as tobacco, sugar and so forth, If you thought that saccharine was a move out of the frying pan into the fire after sugar cane, it had nothing on aspartame and then finally when I hear the FDA condemned it it was replace by an even more insidious option, Splenda. Electronic cigarettes are really chemical horror cigarettes and many times more dangerous than the organic original.

@randomnoone You forget that there is propylene glycol as well, it's the stuff that makes the illusion of smoke. This is the ingredient used in fog juice for fog machines. It's non-toxic and safe to breath and consume. The e-cigarette is a much safer alternative than regular cigarettes. 4 chemicals, maybe even 5, but that's it! None of which are carcinogenic.

@UnderManlac actually PG is optional i use 100% VG it produces much thicker vapor then PG i like my vapor really tick so i use 100% vg juices but yea PG is in allot of soda and food and is pretty safe

@proSpiritofTruth Obviously, you have not done ANY research on the e-cigarette. I have done a 5 page report for Health Canada on the e-cigarette vs. a regular cigarette. Cigarettes contain over 4000 chemicals, many of which are carcinogenic. The e-cigarette has 4 basic chemicals. Nicotine, propylene glycol, glycerin, water, and sometimes flavoring, none of which are carcinogenic. Give me your email address and I will send you the report.

@proSpiritofTruth You are referring to ethylene glycol, which is toxic. Propylene glycol is safe. It is used as a food additive, a solvent in making pharmaceutical drugs, antibacterial lotions and saline solutions, etc. It's also the main ingredient used in fog machines. It's non-toxic, unless you drink over 20,000 mg per kg a rat weighs (in Humans it's much higher), which can't be done. The MSDS says there is no data supporting mutating effects.

@flightestman the nicotine in the solution is pure and non-carcinogenic and usually doesnt even come from tobacco. It is mixed with Propylene glycol or glycerine (tested safe for inhalation due to its use in fog machines). Flavorings are added to taste. Mineral water is sometimes added to protect flavor and consistency.

i just got my ego-t today its pretty sweet i'm coming off of 6 years of a can of grizzly wintergreen a day. A week ago i woke up with the worst pain in my gums, like i had gotten hit with a baseball bat in my bottom jaw. i stopped chewing at that point. i went the next 3 days without any nicotine and had the worst withdrawals. I got a blu disposable that lasted a couple days and ordered the ego-t and 36mg juice. 3 hits of that juice and im good for awhile feel like ive had a dip in for an hour
