  • i used to be an adventurer...

  • I hated that game it was too hard....

  • And thus, the world is saved!

  • white key - a few dollars

empty white castle - millions of dollars

locking up an annoying bat full of dragons - priceless

  • Two good friends having another kind of adventure:

    Diving in Bishop Harbor

  • honestly no disrespect but why is this game of all the other great 2600 games rly famous??? was it the first rpg or something? it seems like there were many better games

  • @wylecoyote65 dude, this was the first game to have items, the first game to have bosses, the first game to have a persisting, slightly randomized world, the first game that actually had a way to win (instead of endlessly cycling through levels, as in all arcade games at the time) and the first game to have an easter egg. It was freakin' amazing, back in the day.

  • @carulian oh o.o well thanks for the explanation :D

  • Hey! This is the port on the 10 games in one joystick! I always hated that thing, because it didn't emulate correctly.

  • This was my favorite game back in the day! I'd play this for hours on end. The invisible dot was my first easter egg.

  • I hear farting in this video!!

  • it took me 1:24... your MLG

  • MEMORIES!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

  • I can't believe I spent weeks playing that shit and it was always THAT EASY to solve... Jesus H Christ.

  • One of the best Atari Games, ever

  • good old times :)

  • Spectacular for its time.

  • I used to love this game. Oh man I'm getting old...

  • Watch out for the hollow ducks.

  • @ctaurus211 The people who post spam-videos have no life... This one isn't a spam-video.

  • @zetzuken99 Hahaha! (robotChicken, I bet).

  • I used to know how to take the dragon and carry it with me. You could capture the bat, and then have the bat grab the dragon, and then you would have both of them with you. Is that right? I remember the key and travelIing through the walls and the magic black dot. I have not seen this game in about 28 years!

  • ADVENTURE! ADVENTURE! ADVENTURE!

  • i remember there was always a certain way i could beat this, then one day the dragon was in a different spot and i could never beat it again

  • Great Dancing Journey Like Mat? >>Take inlook on My Vids Channel<<

  • HOLLY CRAP I ALWAYS THOUGHT THE DRAGONS WERE SEA HORSES

  • In my records, this is the 1st game I've ever beaten. hehehe, now I noticed I have won all this time, the main goal is to make the "dot" hero bring the "cup thing" to his home. Well, there was no message saying "Congratulations!" or "You win!" so I assumed it was misfunctioning of my cartridge.

  • i can't believe people post videos of themselves playing atari games on youtube. Get a life.

  • @ctaurus211 wait. are you saying that atari sucks?

  • @emachines007 not saying that at all.... as a matter of fact, i have missile command set up at my desk at work and its still one of my favorite games. Got a high score of 82,367 last week. Would I post a video of myself playing it on youtube??? no way jose. To each his own i guess... I guess it could be worse... the whole Facebook thing is way more pathetic.

  • could somebody tell me wtf just happened?

  • come on, fhqwhgads.

  • nossa, eu ficava muito puto com esse jogo. da raiva so de ver

  • this was my favorite game of all time when I was a kid! My favorite part was getting eaten by the dragon and then the bat picks up the body and flies you through the walls:-)

  • this was my favorite game of all time when I was a kid!

  • im 21 (born 1989) and i find this game fun as hell on later levels

    (AtariFlashback2)

  • Everyday I thank God for letting me be born in the late 80s and avoid this God forsaken console.

  • WAS THAT THE WHOLE GAME?!

  • Wow, this game looks like shit.

  • THIS was one of the best 2600 titles. Lots of fun!

  • beware of the duck, or it might try to steal your chalice of beer :P

  • *BEWARE THE DUCK*

  • Many's the time I was carried around by the bat in this game! Fond memories.

  • @GreenTreeAnt I remember having a lot of fun with this one, too. The yellow du... dragon was afraid of the white (?) key and you could set all the dragons to be afraid of the sword. I would sometimes get the yellow dragon bouncing back and forth between a room with the white key and one with the sword. Then move the sword a little closer to the dragon. And a little closer. And closer.... BEEAUUUUU! Muuhahahaha! ;)

  • What is this the new PlayStation 4 games

  • 33.6 seconds. epic.

  • the "soundtrack" fucking scares me!!

  • I am 43 years old now. This used to be my favorite Atari game.

  • @meswm2000 I am 44 and it was my favorite too.

  • What a simple but challenging game.

  • Comment removed

  • this game looks a bit different then the one I remember, I remember the bridge was purple, and some other things look like a different color. It also sounds different then the one i remember. Can anyone tell me why?

  • dsdfds

  • I used to find the easter egg back in the early 80's and show everyone......"Look....a secret room.....can you believe it!"

  • thats it was i describing previously,it was mentioned in the atari bulletin in the eighties.

  • This is the first game ever to have an "easter egg", if you touch a transparent pixel it takes you to a screen and says "created by" and has the programmers name! :o this game is a piece of history!

  • there is a little trick you can find a transparent dot usingthe bridge in the black castle take to the blue maze an it takes you to screen that says created by robert hetpe. Its about twenty years since ive done it but it does exist.

  • Robert Hetpe?

Strange, because the Adventure I know was made by Warren Robinett.

  • @SadisticMystic He is referring to a real trick I dont recall the name because I don't care but what he says is true.

  • @BARRETBROWN Man i remember finding ton of hidden rooms in this game!!

  • Congratulations!,You Beat The Game!You Win A Seizure!

    *Dies from flashing screen*

  • I've read that this was the very first game featuring an easter egg !

  • what the hell happened in that?

  • low tech,no tech.

    way before my time.

  • This game...It wasn't even fun. Never played in on an Atari, but when I beat it, I did not feel like I accomplished anything

  • @Xtremeonaughts depends when you played it though. if this was one of the best games out at the time, you'd feel accomplishment!

  • I remember playing this =^_^=

  • how do you kill the dragons? they run away from me when i get the sword :/

  • @brainjuice654 Change the difficulty setting.

  • Part of the fun is killing the dragons, though.

  • Damn! That was quick. I can't believe I spent countless hours as a kid playing this game and never managed to finish it. I always thought this game was way longer to beat in a speed run.

  • lol i love that game even thogh it is incredably easy i beat it in 10 minits

  • I used to play this alot on my old 2600. Glad they put it on the plug in game to relive it!

  • This brings back memories, I used to love this game.

  • It can be a pretty easy game and I did beat it twice on this plug it in tv game thing.

  • Drunk Tank

  • Best. Adventure. Ever.

  • Drunk Tank!

  • World of Warcaft circa 1979.

  • This game scare me!

  • I loved that gane so much

And those dam dragons would always be following you even if you went way ahead they would always eventually get Ya

  • This is one of my faves and was as good as it got back then.

  • I thought the dragon was a seahorse.

  • I thought it was an ostrich

  • I spent so much time on this game back in the day!

  • wtf just happened?

  • It's the freakin' duck!

  • @WorldChallenge

It's is a dragon. Just looks like a duck :P

  • is this being played as a rom? if so where in the world did u get it? I like this version way better than the old gay version.

  • You can look on any rom site to get this. It's common.

  • I love this game it brings back memories of rally x, pacman, digdug, adventure, bosconian, galaga, galaxian, mappy, adventure, castlevania, joust, invaders, and defender.

  • @ransman413 you said adventure twice

    p.s.

    I love mappy!!!!!!

  • @MrPonies101 P.S. I am making a SONG ABOUT MAPPY!!!!!!

  • This was my favorite game for the 2600

  • What was this being played on? The sound was strange, the yellow key was orange, other things were the wrong color, and the screen flashed strangely when you'd go between some rooms....

  • Originally it was for the Atari 2600 VCS. You can also play it on the 2600 "Jr.",7800,on a rom,and the flashback series.

  • Someone created an Adventure 2 for the Atari 5200. It's pretty close to the gameplay of the original on the 2600. There's also an Adventure 2 on the Atari Flashback which is exactly like the original but with more mazes, etc.

  • @rocksoliddude1 yeah but this game came out in like 1979, they didn't exactly have the graphics of today.

  • yeah i guess this game kind of looks like tutankhamun for the 48k spectrum. this game is kind of spooky though.

  • Holy Crap I was like 6 yo the first time I played this. O_o

  • same here!! That dragon used to give me nightmares HAHAHA

  • I wasn't even alive in the 80s, but I've played and love many of the Atari 2600 games. This one is probably my favorite of them all.

  • This game is so fucking intense it isn't even funny.

I'm going to have nightmares tonight where I am a little block and I'm being chased and devoured by dragons.

  • @thedrunkennerd lol!

  • @thedrunkennerd lol i fell sorry for you :s

    i like the game but...

  • If you remember playing this game I am sure you are likable. How on earth did we finish games or find easter eggs back then without any help manuals? Great video!

  • What a better hero than, well, a dot.

  • @panchillo9797 it's not a dot, it's a cube

  • SEIZURETASTIC!

  • Get this freakin' duck AWAY FROM ME!!!

  • The duck. HHAHAHA. That was funny.

  • @HaystackCaldoon

I see what you did there, wrestleman.

  • I remember cruising in this game, where you get swallowed by a dragon and picked up by the bat.

  • OMG! I loved this game when I was a kid! I even have a pencil sketch I drew of my lifftle brother playing it!!! I was so good at maneuvering through the invisible castle. I even knew where the SECRET ROOM was, with that little MAGIC WHITE BALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone else remember that? It gave you the ability to walk through certain walls, I think.

  • yOUR EXCITEMENT GAVE ME A CHUBBY...

  • you acquired the golden chalice!

  • Only one game gave me nightmares. This One. Not later titles like Half-Life or Doom. But This Exact One.

  • When I was in elementary school, this game was the bomb!!! Now I have it on one of those joystick game thingies. I remember playing it once, on the third level (where everything is placed randomly), and that particular game was unfinishable.

  • Haha this game is Funny!

  • when me and my friend play this we are like....oh my fucking god theres THE FUCKING DRAGON!!!!!it was funny because it looks creepy alittle so i finally beat lvl 1 and on lvl 3 i had 3 dragons after me.

  • How did u kill tht duck thingy with out the sword

  • You cannot kill a dragon without the sword.

  • lol dragon duckkkkyyy!

  • I loved this game.

  • Might make a GM game in the spirit of this

  • i used to be able to get the develpors name so nthis if I remember correct..using the bridge to go through a wall..is that true?

  • I believe it was the magic dot. This was one of the first games with an easter egg in it. The magic dot was hidden away in the black castle and required the bridge to obtain.

  • Yes.

  • Man. This game doesn't look like much but it was very addictive and I would play it all the time on the different levels. It is more fun than it looks, if you aren't familiar with it. Us old dudes know it's cool.

  • just won Adventure II

    whoo hoo!

then got killed on level 3 of Adventure LOL!

  • When you set the difficulty level to 3 you have no guarantees of what is going to happen. You may end up swallowed whole by the red dragon or inadvertently get hold of the sword out of nowhere (that bat bat is always switching items around). this single jewel has rendered me countless hours of inquiring exploration and a true sense of adventure ^^

  • thats it...? FUCK! ive beaten this game like............ uhhhhhhhhhhh......2600 times!

  • OMG I completely forgot about this game. I loved it!!!

  • A cool "easter egg" if you want to call it that in game one- when you win the game and the victory music starts playing, quickly hit and release the reset button- it makes the music slow down to 1/4 speed and sounds sort of techno:)

  • that dam bat always use to get me

    loved that game

  • oh wow, cool, i used to play this game a lot :)

  • if you get eaten by a dragon you are still alive and can move around in the dragons stomach.

  • thats because of the way it was programmed with the collisions.

  • Defently my favorite A2600 game!

  • perhaps the best

  • remember the 'magic dot'? it was found in the maze and you could then walk thru the line boundary by the gold castle and it would say something in multi hued letters the name of the programmer. lol

  • XD nice days

  • Graphics isn't all. This 1979 game really shows that. I played this game for the first time in 1985 and all I can say now is timeless fun!!

  • I think that if you look at the different set of colours combined with the movements that are available that it's pretty clear to see how all the textures that comprise of semi detailed structures work quite well together to form a unique experience within this timeframe of editorial programming concepts.

  • ah man, so fun, and so easy, i remember that game

  • atari one of the earliest video game consoles

  • thanks for the video!!!!

  • Nice memories...nice game...I loved it...expecially when the damned bat used to pick your stuff away...what a nice video. Cool atari game, sometimes I still play it.

  • I got this and played it for the first time and passed it like 2 min and I was like ? thats it but its a great game love it.

  • Wow! This brings back memories!

  • Looks like a lot of us thought that they were crazy ducks on the loose, at least at first.

  • Your not alone, Devilbuster... I used to call them ducks when I was 5 XD

  • what the fuck's going on in there?

  • that was chesse you cant get the bridge without the bk castle catacombs this is a cheat you cheating bastardddddddd

  • Not on Level One- the easiest level. The bridge is always in the first maze on this level only.

  • Watching that brought back so many memories. I was probably 12 playing that and now I am 39. Still playing games. It was good to relive that task in 39sec.

  • FINALLY won Adventure II

    whoo hoo!

  • I was 8 years old when I played that. Now I am 30. Long time ago.

  • Strong Bad: "Somebody get this freaking duck away from me!" Best quote EVAH.

  • i thought they were ducks too LMAO

  • i feel so old D:

i was playing this game just yesterday

  • Omg i remember playing this game when i was really young

  • In this game I always get eaten by the dragon. D:

  • This is all pre-rendered, NOT actual PS3 graphics.

  • Comment removed

  • theres more to games than graphics

  • = ps3

  • i remember this game this was when i had friends

  • lol

  • hahahahaha I have this game lol.

  • Adventure was a great game! Very revolutionary.

Try playing it on difficult and finding the invisible dot.

  • Atari 2600 is real otstoy, but we played in this.
