I have seen some beautiful wants, but don't really feel the need for one. I feel they are just part of the theatrics, and even holding one makes me feel somewhat silly. That being said, if I found one that I thought was really beautiful, I might want it for myself...
@Bhav341 everything in a ritual is a symbol for something. symbols hold energy that we use to our benefit. a wand is sorta like a hammer, the rest of the tools being nails and other tools. for example, working with sea salt, sea salt would be a nail. it would be mostly useless without a wand. it has other uses though.
I planted a willow tree 10 years ago when it was only 7 feet tall. It is now well over 50 feet. I would love to use a branch of this tree I lovingly planted & nurtured. I understand I must give a gift first then cut a branch & say my thanks. Am on the right path in this course?
@Sylvia441 there are no rules. If it makes you feel good to leave something, or to say thank you, that would be nice, but I doubt the tree is going to care either way.
I am a new learner of Wicca. I just purcased my first Wand on Sunday 3 Jan 2010. It has a Crystal tip, and a Amythyst base. This was a very educational video. Thank you.
@Divya1991Joshi: The best type of wand, is a wand that you make yourself(Give thanks to a tree, leave an offering and take a branch, though to more. You could also find a branch that you like on the ground and use it) I just made my most recent wand not to long ago.
@Divya1991Joshi I'm not at home right now and as I don't make wands often I can't tell you off the top of my head though if u want there are YouTube videos on it and you can even google the topic and there are great sites there, and that's where I got most of my how-toss on making my wands, notably Try to go for a wand 3/4 and thick, an from elbow to finger length.
oh, just curious -- what are your top three wiccian tools ???? if you'd like to share
