there are a few issues i've come across.

try playing shinobi arcade version... 2nd stage,,, the changed the color of spiderman most likey becuase of copyright issues, sucks nonetheless. 8(

also, another favorite of mine, space harrier is awful om here 8( the sound and music are too fast and out of tune. it just ruines the experoence! i donr know how they could have had messed it up that badly, they already had it perfect on thier 32X! perhaps they should have emulated that version.

Totally agreed, however it is Sega and it is there decision in the end, I mean nobody can complain that this great compliation only costed $30 on next-gen systems at the time of launch and now it is a massive best seller at $20 new ($18 used). If it was to be re-released the same way I would still buy it as I did at launch, as a matter a fact I am going to purchase this again on the XBox 360 in the next week or so!!

Yeah, no doubt it is a fantastic deal. I just think whenever you put "Ultimate" in your game's title you are raising the bar on yourself. :P

They really should have spent a bit more time ironing out the bugs. The sound mess up in Space Harrier was really a bummer for me since I love the music in that. Shinobi color palette change ..I guess they had to. They did similar things to later revs of Revenge of Shinobi. I made a video on those actually.

several reasons actually.

1. there were many 3rd party companies who own the rights, not sega! konami, capcom, etc. i agree it would be cool to see strider, ghouls n ghosts on here, but that's why you don't.

2. licensing nightmare. movie based games such as batman are not licenced for multiple ports and\or the companie's right have since expired.

3. why would they give you 700+ games? keep in mind these used to cost $40-$80 EACH!!

Gain Ground is an awesome game 2 player, it's totally addictive & lots of strategy is involved working with your partner.

So glad they put Gain Ground in here.

Also, the Shining force games are awesome.

o and another thing i use a sega saturn USB conntroller on it so on the abc mode its X=A A=B and B=C and the only way to corect it is by button config which is a pain in the ass,for instace:in alterd beast i dont no iff kick is B or C so its a big problem.

I'll buy this game next week,I was born in 94 so I couldn't expieriecne alot of games before that.this seems like the best compilation of all time though.

no shit sherlock, I guarantee ya that if you own a PS3 or a XBox 360 that you use an AV Cable instead of HDMI, there are a ton of differences in the new edition, dont hate please!

An interesting fact. They could have put EVERY Sega Mega Drive(Genesis) game EVER made on one BluRay disc! Shame they didn't, but this is my childhood and I will be getting this first thing on Friday when I get paid.

Yeah they could of done that but how would the make money off the Dlc packs? note: there is no offical word yet on adding more games via dlc for this collection yet, but it's a give in it will happen though since both the 360 and Ps3 versions list Live and PSN support and yet the game has no online multiplayer or online leaderboards, so that leaves only dlc..just saying

i finally got this game today. on the back of the box, there is a scene of sonic the hedgehog 3, but it says it is from Sonic the Hedgehog 2..... that is funny how a box lied...

Towards the end there, you were showing and mentioning that to unlock something you need to beat a boss with 2 players. Would that require two controllers?

(I'm not familiar enough with the original game so I don't know and I'd like to be able to unlock everything after I get the game, but I've only one controller).

I went ape shit a few months ago (or weeks) when I learned about it.

I just learned today it's been released in my area. XD

I'm gonna get it tomorrow. It looks and sounds great (for the most part; camera doesn't help) for the most part, and it features MORE than just Sonic. 8D I loved the first Ecco game (played in via emulator) and the Defender of the Future Ecoo game. Perhaps I'll like other games on this disc. 8D

Oh, and around 5 1/2 minutes when you mention the saved states thing, Sonic Mega Collection + did that, but it was slow as shit.

But you know what games I thought should've been included? The Jurassic Park ones; great games. Now I'm stuck playing them via emulator since I got rid of my Genesis (besides the Lion King and JP, Sonic was the only (like, 10 or so it felt like) game I had for it. XD

Most likely. I would definetly recommend trying this game out, since you're basically getting 49 new games for the low price of $30. Even though these games were made in the 80's-90's, they're still fun today (although, they're not as in-dept as today's games, of course).

I would definitely say yes for the following: There are now over 40 games in this collection alone, and they are all available in 4:3 and 16:9, also they are upgraded to 720p and the Save States are totally unbeliveable!! I would say this is a must buy at $30USD!

From what I have seen so far it looks excellent on a HDTV, that is what I use to play it but had to scale it down for the review. It looks supreme on a HDTV with HDMI :)
