Saw them play at Castle Donnington in the UK when I was 17. Mental stuff with loads of people throwing wooden black feet on stage. They played this one and the place went wild. Superb/
This song seems to bring out some riveting tales. Seriously. I can't seem to think of a smiley that conveys the fact that I'm actually being sincere and not sarcastic.
my family was treaced back to the blackfoot tribes though I am mostly mexican and french they date back to the french and indian wars.(Love child) am I and my pre-existing relatives loved each other due to old family documents that is the beliefe (written in both languages and then combining) I had this cd I aquired on my travels but lost it due to an fed up boyfriend! cant find anywhere! guess this will have to do!
brings me back to last year, when dakota, a freshman at the time, shot himself in the head. its a long story, but he finally snapped when his girlfriend broke up with him. i didnt know him personally, but i knew him. the shot was barely audible a block from my home.
Im embarassed to say i forgot about blackfoot for nearly twenty years til i spotted rickey medlocke playing with skynyrd again recently, found them again, have all the worthwhile vinyl from late seventies/early eighties, what a breath of fresh air, like discovering them the first time again, happy days, thanks for posting
I'm not sure I could have understood this song until this year. Lost a wife and reached a level of sorrow and pain that I did not know existed. Many times I found solace in music turned up loud to drive the painful thoughts and sadness out for a few moments of respite. Each night had to change clothes a few times due to the night sweats.
Life is ok now and feeling better. The Higher Power stepped in and took the pain for me. Don't have the words to express my gratitude. Peace at last.
Hopefully you can know the peace as well my friend. Life continues to get better for me. A long path but progress not perfection as my daughter says. Still have not dated, no rush. Still recovering. Take care Greg.
I saw these guys in the early 80's in Belfast. Amazing band live the power went out and they did an acoustic session.
Totally amazing, up there with Def Leppard who played Belfast as a tester for Hysteria.

A beautiful song by one of the Premier All Time Great American Rock and Roll bands.
I first heard of them and saw them in '79 at the Omni in Atlanta...they opened for The Scorpions and Ted Nugent.
To this day...they are one of the best rock bands I have ever seen in concert. And I have seen hundreds...
Straight ahead Rock and Roll with no fire bombs, explosions or bullshit.
Just killer music to back it all up!
Blackfoot's music will live forever....
