  • "Now that Sam's at this level, which we hadn't planned or prepared for..."

Um, NO ONE makes it to that level without a SUBSTANTIAL amount of planning and preparation. It does get frustrating listening to gymnasts and their parents say, "My kid just made it to the elite level, really, it just happened." yeah right

  • Shes greaaaaaaaaaaattttttttt!!!!!!!!! :0 :D

  • i can almost do everything shes doing....im 13

  • @MsDegrassichik Well have you done all those skills under extreme pressure and still done as well as she has. Don't think so. You're bragging in unnecessary.

  • @Puppylovr81 im not bragging! :( im just saying it is extemely tough toget through i know what its like! i didnt mean to come off like i was bragging i was just saying that im 13 and im already experiencing this kind of pressure and its amazing how we can relate :)

  • @MsDegrassichik Oh I'm sorry if my comment came off as sort of rude! haha That's amazing that you're practically at her skill level! :)

  • Shawn Johnson didn't do two a days- in fact she only did 4 hour practices a day while most/all of the other team members did 6-8 hour practices

  • shes so muscular im sure she could squat in the 400s

  • @suegirl145 welll someone seems a little jealous

  • Sam go to private high school, but Shawn go to public high school, which is even more impressive!

  • where can i find her addidas packback? anyone know?

  • I remember reading an interview with Steve Nunno where he said he didn't want his girls to quit school. He felt it was valuable for his girls to have a life outside the gym.

  • is there other episodes like other sports? diving...

  • Shawn Went to school too.

  • lol, well it's not exactly her fault she's lived a privelaged upper middle class white suburban life, is it?

  • @QuittersTry agreed, cliche as it sounds, it's not about the cards you're dealt it's how you play the game, and regardless of background, I'd say she's played the hand well...

  • Jealous Much? Sam is AMAZING.

  • @suegirl145 someones jealous...

  • @suegirl145 she didn't exactly compete, but she got a silver medal. And billions of other people don't even HAVE an olympic medal. What do you have against happy-go-lucky people anyway?

  • @suegirl145 Ummm someone is jealous.

  • @suegirl145 yeah wtf im sorry that you have nothing better to than envy someone else's life.

  • she's great, but she is not the only gymnast who goes to school. actually, the majority of the major players do: bridget, shawn, nastia, chellsie, sam, alicia, rebecca b, ivana, most of them do

  • @96horseluvr actually nastia doesn't and neither does chellsie.

  • actually nastia does. watch "a day with nastia liukin" it's on youtube and u'll c that she actually does go to school

  • @yasmine10194 they both went to high school, but obviously both graduated already :) (i'm not sure about chellsie but nastia did 1/2 a day at a private school)

  • I love her so much.

  • why did sam awitch gyms right before the olympics

  • She didn't - she switched AFTER the Olympics when her coach moved back to China to be closer to his family.

  • you should watch her floor from nationals this year, she was all smiles

  • what events was she suppose to compete in during the olympics before she got hurt??

  • AA in prelims, then probably VT and FX in TF

  • @QuittersTry what about BB? Isn't that her strongest event?

  • and at 6:46 that is my favorit coch and he was my lev 7 coch

  • at 4:34 you see the De Voos Enterance and my team always hops aroud shuving each other into the pit is realy fun

  • i did not really like her at first...but now i LOVE HER!!!! she is an amazing gymnast

  • shawn johnson goes to public school too. So sam is th eonly one. but She is great!!

  • did you go to the olympics or not?

  • I mean did she go :P

  • Yes but she got hurt and only competed UB in prelims

  • I don't know how she felt about that - but it seems like it would have been nice. Getting to compete in the Olympic games, without all of the extra stress. And she got a silver medal to boot.

  • no its a horrible feeling going so far and not being able to showcase yourself on the olympic stage. she probably feels unaccomplished and thats y she is still working hard at the sport. she wants another chance to reach her ultimate goal in gymnastics and she can.

  • It was sad that she got injured, because she didn't get the chance to shine like she obviously would have. A very talented young lady.

  • i love sam! she's one of my fav. gymnasts, her and shawn johnson are my fav. cuz they're both very compact and powerful.

  • I just realized that Shawn and Sam have a lot in common. They both only train around 5 hours a day, they both go to school, and they both have Chinese coaches from Beijing. Even their body types are similar and they are both powerful :P

  • they both do standing fulls on the beam

  • And double doubles on floor:)

  • and they dismount from bars are alike

  • And they are both just great

  • wow, that's cool, i've never actually seen Sam, performing
